I will definitely agree it was time to move from Cardiff. Back in the day when crowds were regular pushing 40,000 it was superb and the whole day was great. I haven't been since 2012 but to see the crowds so low on the TV was a shame. It had definitely served its time and I don't actually disagree with it going to Belle Vue. We all know it will be a good GP weather permitting and in fairness your not that far away from the City. What gets me is how they have charged such huge prices for it. If I still lived in the UK, would I have gone? Probably to be honest but it still doesn't sit right with me. Despite my previous comments, I do hope you have two days of sunshine and superb racing and it goes well. -

Pathetic. It will be so fans travel expecting to see him at the Pairs and then turn up to find out he isn't there as he can't be arsed. Absolute sham. -

Its a fair comment. It's out of the clubs control. I guess allowing guests would be a whole new issue entirely and would see clubs signing riders that have no intention to ride thus allowing guests. It really is baffling though that in 48 hours of their number one dropping out of Leicesters team this early, and with the same manager as them, that Berwick haven't released a statement giving some clarity over the situation. Has Cook just decided he wants CL racing only, has he quit both leagues, has he had a bender and sent a text in the heat of the moment and now regrets it? Who knows. -

Being charged those prices for a speedway meeting is a rip off. Of course the tickets were going to sell - you could add even more to the price and they would because there are plenty of wealthy people who will pay the prices. That prat Saltbae or whatever he is called (the Arab chef), his restaurants were full for years despite rip off prices and most who went leaving underwhelmed. He charged a fortune yet had a full house every night and I have been to one of his restaurants and it was an absolute rip off. Thats the first example of many that come to mind. Just because people pay the prices doesn't mean its not a rip off. Be interesting to see what you would say if the meeting was being held somewhere else in the UK with those prices being released. -

What a ridiculous thing to say. Just because they are being sold, doesn't mean they aren't a rip off. As far as speedway and prices go, those ticket prices are an absolute p**stake. End of story. -

Isn't it pretty much the same thing if he has signed a contract? Palm Toft looks most likely. A quick google search shows he averaged 8.08 in 2024 (8.88 at home/7.23 away). Could do a lot worse than that unless there is something I have missed and thats why Berwick fans dont want him? Certainly stronger than going down the road of a newcomer with an assessed average. -
Possibly one of the worst riders to ever ride in the premier league (or championship as its now called).
-
Maybe he went down the route of many others and spent his lockdown partying and hasn't shrugged it off. Either way, regardless of the excuses he comes out with, he is a waste of time in this sport and a continual let down. Fancy doing this on the eve of the season. Should be a lesson learnt for other clubs to steer clear now. Let him go and get a job in the real world although with his brains I wouldn't bank on it. If you put his brain in a hazlenut shell it would still rattle.

Hardly surprising. Guy is a waste of time. Top rider in his day but those days long gone. Was always going to be some drama with him this year. -
Lynn look solid and could be dark horses if they all stay fit. Whoever they have at reserve is going to clean up in all honesty. Kvech could add a load to his average, Lawson will get you 7, Iversen ditto. Harris will average 6.5 over a season like he always does. Could be a real tasty team if Boughen reaches his potential and has stopped rubbishting himself at the first turn. Lynn however have had history of building teams on paper that look class and it never happens for them.

Point taken. Mean to say he wasn't in the class of TRick, Nicki P, Crumpy even Hancock when it came to the smaller tracks.

All good mate, Take it the rumors are true then.🤣

Be thankful the likes of Henning Loof, Marek Mroz, Casper Wortmann etc have retired!
-
Why should he , hes a good bloke who's never held back on here in the past. He says it how is is , shame more people involved with clubs don't these days! I heard a whisper he is getting the famous caravan club back together as well. Main Man, Pav Pavitt, Stoj and Henning Loof !

G'day Paul, hope you are well! Are the rumors that MJJ is only riding at Brum until Sweden starts true or false then?

Its got disaster written all over it with those prices. I have never seen anything like it for a speedway event. Be cheaper to fly to Poland for a GP. -

I just don't get the logic in it. Take it away from an Elite Stadium and put it in a far inferior one and triple the price . Oh and throw in a second GP on that weekend too. -

I always found as a kid that the star was a brilliant read due to not having the internet at the time. Every Thursday evening it would be full of news that you didn't know about, used to find out about signings every week in it even for my home team. As soon as we got internet on our computer, the star became a waste of time and money as everything in there was already on the internet. It will have interviews and maybe pictures not seen online but all the main news is already out there by the time its released. I do think the star is a great product though. Well presented, neat and tidy. Well it was the last time I seen one. This forum used to be alight during the winter back in the day. I was just browsing various sub-forums on here then and to see it so quiet is quite sad. The main forum on here now is the General Discussion forum, which I think says it all and even that hasn't had a post for over a day. Very sad to see as even though it has its faults, its been the center of the British Speedway fans community for over 20 years. Hopefully picks up during the season.
