  1. Bet Poole fans absolutely hate not being the big money club these days. Can you imagine 10 years ago Glasgow paying way more than Poole for top prospects? Haha. First Basso and now Ben Cook. And probably his brother as can't see one going with out the other.Maybe Poole will have to keep S Worrall afterall.
  2. Well thats no good at all. Expecting fans to pay and turn up to see a bang average foreigner not try hard cos he isnt fit. Another reason fans stay away. The day that clubs and promotions rule the roost rather than riders, especially mediocre foreign riders, is the day the sport may start heading upwards rather than down the sewer.
  3. Heard off a VERY reliable source here in Aussie this week that Lawson is off to Edinburgh and B. Cook is off to Glasgow as second heatleader. May be a rumour but doubtful going by the person who told me.
  4. Probably relating to your second sentence. When fit. Lasse is injured quite a lot, wouldn't you agree? Borke would probably be the better bet due to reliability .
  5. Not as mad as the people suggesting R Worrall for a team spot, how on earth is that going to happen? And before I am accused of slating Worrall, I am not. He is actually an entertaining rider who says exactly what he thinks and thats how more riders should be. His interview regarding Pedersen and Pboro months ago was brilliant. But with the drugs test incident hanging over his head, I cant see how he has a chance. Especially as he went over the BSPA's head and got his own test done. He is also much more entertaining to watch than his brother.
  6. Behave yourself. holder took him out and its as clear as day on replay. Pedersens reputation went against him simple as that. It is a massive shame thats the only title holder won, i thought he would of won more and probably would of if not for injuries. But that night , Pedersen was robbed and its only because many dislike Nicki that more wasnt said. Had that of been Crumpie or Hancock instead of Pedersen, there would of been uproar. that being said , Holder imo was the best in the world that season but doesnt make that decision right. Ref bottled it in a semi final and well the rest is history.
  7. He certainly should of been excluded in that semi final though for wiping Pedersen out. He lost control and it was one of the worst decisions I have seen to put all 4 back rather than exclude him.
  8. Pedersen was brilliant , gave it his all on track and was a huge hit with the fans. Yes, he was ruthless and dirty but he himself was a victim of many bad moves even early on in his career. Everyone wanted to watch him, whether it was to watch him win or watch him get beaten. He was box office. the series could do with a prime Nicki P in it now , thats for sure.
  9. Lindgren is the closest thing to Pedersen. Doyle is extremely ruthless and hard charging but not in Pedersens mould.
  10. Do they though? They own their own stadium and have a healthy crowds well over 1000 a week dont they?
  11. Parker wasn't too bad. Stancl wasn't very well liked though. The last heat decider in 2003 with Puk passing Stancl for a match winning 5-1 was brilliant , especially as I think Stancl was on a max until that point.
  12. Hence why I said Poole are running on a tighter budget these days therefore wouldn't of splashed the cash on him.
  13. I think Poole are running the club on a tighter budget these days. If Tarasenko was willing to ride for the same money as Rowe or Kyle then absolutely they would of signed him, assuming they knew he was available and able to be signed.
  14. So assuming the old Newport Wasps promotion havent renewed it, the name Newport Wasps would be available for anyone should a new track happen to open up in Newport?
  15. Both clubs that local businessmen with plenty of coin took over and look how both clubs went. One knew how to do it, the other didnt. that said, the team we finished with was outstanding and as said, would of waltzed the league that season had we started the year with it. do miss the Glasgow pre GP meetings , the 2003 one was a classic .
  16. To be fair , Shovvy said it weeks ago and said it before the second leg. And he has been pretty gracious in defeat I would say. And so he should be as Poole down the years have pulled many strokes over the course of a season!!
  17. No, he was at Newport. Recently watched the replay of it and he was in the pits , right as rain being interviewed.
  18. If that is the case, you have to wonder why he gets so much praise then as what has he actually won? 2011 PL title with Glasgow although they got absolutely obliterated over two legs by Newport in the KO cup final. What else has he won?
  19. I seen him at Trelawny a couple of times too... was brilliant to watch even then. They were the days!
  20. Always wondered what happens to old clubs and who holds their naming rights once they have gone? Do the Malletts still own the rights to Newport Wasps, Legg to Reading Racers etc or do they expire?
  21. Hasn't Worrall got the small matter of a failed drug test hanging over him? Team managers have little say when it comes to money and riders... well they never used to.
  22. Could not understand what Leicester were thinking with those team changes to be honest. mental! I remember Harris as a 16 year old at Exeter in 1999, would never of thought then he would go on to have the career that he has had. Looked good around Exeter but rubbish away from home, as was the norm for all their riders apart from Colesy. He then came to Newport with Trelawny a few years later and got a faultless 15 point maximum beating Watson, Smart and PUK. Couldn't believe the difference in his from in a matter of seasons. He has been an absolute pleasure to watch for 25 years. Never looked a future world champion but always gives it his all. Be a sad day when he packs up.
  23. Course it did and its hilarious how Gavan thinks it didnt. Not only did he replace a rider who could barely score a point away from Glasgow , he also outscored his replacement at home and pushed a struggling Brennan to number 2. As said, the Glasgow team was fully legit and the better side over the two playoff legs. They pulled off a masterstroke signing. Its the powers that be that let it happen who need to be looked at. can you imagine Poole had signed him for Rowe? There would of been the biggest meltdown from non Poole fans we have ever seen!
  24. Its brilliant to see Poole choke but Tarasenko scored more than the rider he replaced would have .Nowak got 000 on his last visit. Not saying its the sole factor, but it certainly played its part. anyway , well done Glasgow. Best team over the two legs won and its hard to believe Poole actually won that match.
