It will comfortably make the play offs because it’s pretty much unbeatable at monmore. That said, I do still fear for this wolves team on the road, as solid as it is, they still haven’t replaced Freddie. You need someone who can win the big races away and I don’t see it in this team. Like I said though, easily a play off team but like Swindon I think it will be just a touch short.

Lampart is a really big risk imo. He was poor here the last time and I’ve not seen enough development internationally to make me think he will be any better this time. Swindon have the best top 3. Period. It’s absolute quality and it will drag them through the majority of meetings but I think they will just miss the mark when it really matters with that tail. It’s just too long. They will easily make the play offs though.

This Ipswich will be cannon fodder I’m afraid. Unless they can pull a rabbit out the hat, they are going to struggle in a big way.

It’s not his fitness that concerns me Phil. He’s young and his body will have recovered by the time the season begins. Hes also part metal so I guess you could argue his body will be stronger still. For such a young lad he’s already took some knocks and that head injury up at Newcastle hurt his form for a good half season. Tbf he bounced back, was really aggressive last season and was looking like the rider we know he can become. Then he takes a massive hit and that will be mentally difficult to recover from. If he beats that, then bv are going to have a very very good season. He’s easily, and I mean really easily, a 3rd HL in this league. I would go so far as saying that BVs entire season is going to hinge on how dan reacts this season.

I’ll happily be amongst a minority. That’s sits fine with me. I’ve made a solid case, and a lot like the Rye team a couple years back, many thought they’d fair well. They ended up doing nothing of note. I was right then, and I’ll be right again ;-)

I think it’s clear I’m already convinced and you’ll see when it plays out that way over the season. All opinions at the end of the day.

Peterborough certainly isn’t a line up I’m concerned about. But I would be if I was a Peterborough fan.
-
Fancy yourself as a bit of a comedian then. It’s not working.

Steve I think will be fine. I thought he came back too early last season but that will likely help him going into this one. Dan is a risk. A big risk. Lidsey is unknown but certainly not a risk on 4 points. He will easily increase that from reserve. I’ve seen enough of him to believe that he will be in the main body at the first set of averages, allowing Dan to drop down. I can see that happening. I think it’s the strongest team announced so far and I say that with no bias at all.

2 seasons/3 seasons. Does it really matter? My point was to emphasise his direct connection and racing for the club most certainly provides one!

That’s terrific. Thanks for sharing.

I think bv are a little more balanced. Swindon have a terrific top 3 and that will be enough to keep you in most meetings but the tail is very long. The improvement you speak about is going to need to happen imo. We shall see.
-
I’m sure you won’t be the only one.
-
Well it does because it very much is ‘drivel’. Aside from everything that has already been mentioned, things you see as ‘indirect’, well here is something a little more concrete to help you along. 3 full seasons riding for bv in some capacity. Hope this helps.

Lasse has been around for a few years now, never really kicked on and has been in the shadow of his brother for a long time. Barker is done. He’s starting at reserve for a reason and younger, hungrier, keener reserves will be beating him comfortably. It reminds of the Rye team this one, and you said this a couple pages back, it feels like a dads army team. I agree. It’s a bit of that, a bit of some riders who are just steady Eddie, and only really BWD who has the potential to seriously improve that avaerage. I mean don’t get me wrong, in a 7 team league it’s going to be in a play off conversation but no way on this planet is that team the strongest one announced. No bias, but BV are so much stronger.
-
True. Many other variables in that Poole team that made them champions though.
-
I pulled it last week and I’ll say it again. I really don’t rate that team. I think it’s a busted flush. Wilson Dean has some potential to really improve but otherwise I think that is bang average. Full of riders either past it, getting past it, or just your average Joe. Also seriously lacking a number 1.
-
Non at all. But then I don’t need to. Social media has a presence these days. Besides, I’m at the NSS every week. Say no more
-
Since they widened the bends and put banking in, it rides like a big track. It’s all by the boards at Ipswich now
-
Solid but I still think that team is lacking a number 1. Pretty much unbeatable at home but away, question marks for me.
-
It really is. I’m so pleased that we are taking the development of these young lads seriously. There is a platform for some of those to become riders in the main team. Whilst I’m gutted for Andy, who is a f#####g top human being, it’s the way I’d prefer to go. Not only will that team be competitive, it’s been done with the right ethos behind it.

I thought he did the whole season?
-
Don’t think it’s a case of either or, at least not from my point of view, my argument is that currently Jamion is slightly ahead of Becker. I hope luke does well, it’s been a long time since an American came over and did anything of note at the top level. Once Hancock is done there will be nobody to replace the flag he’s been carrying whereas there will be many Aussies The more I think about it the more I’m inclined to believe that going to Wolves is a poor career choice for Luke.
-
What were their combined season ending averages?
-
Just as a follow up as well, I think you can make judgment with the Uk vs Poland now. I think your missing a critical part of this argument here. The premiership now, wolves apart, has 6 tracks that are not your traditional type of Uk small track. In fact we have some really, really good circuits in this league now. It’s closer to Poland than its ever been and that goes against the grain of pretty much every American rider. Hancock is hanging on for dear life trying to bring some of those American kids through the system. Australians on the other hand just fare much better. Have a look at the international teams. There is no comparison. Lidsey will pick it up, it’s essentially in his DNA to do so and 6 of the 7 tracks in the uk will aid that development massively. That he’s skipping the championship, and going straight into the premiership, this after going straight to Poland in his first European season, tells you all you need in respect of his potential vs that of Luke Becker. What did Luke average btw in Poland?
