  1. Yes he certainly looked better last night. It was my first visit to Copenhagen and although the racing might have been better I enjoyed being at Parken. Copenhagen is a most enjoyable place to visit for the weekend and it was also nice to see so many other fans travelling out yesterday and coming back this evening.
  2. Remember hearing the news on the local radio - LBC - very sad. R.I.P Tommy
  3. The fixtures are on Griparna's website - www.griparna.nu
  4. Linlithgow for me - the only UK track that has staged league racing in the last 30 years that I missed out on visiting. The previous miss was Coatbridge. Also Landshut in Germany as I have been there (29 years ago) and it was postponed. Still a chance of getting back there though! Being either London/South East based since I started watching Speedway I'm sorry to have missed out on West Ham, Rayleigh, Romford and Reading Tilehurst.
  5. I think Scott will be back simply because he is the best GP rider outside the top eight. He should be in it regardless of nationality. As for the rest like many of you I would be inclined to give Lindgren another go and bring in some new blood in Emil and Noddy.
  6. I think it's August 1st for Prague. Should find out for sure soon though!
  7. Possibly Ellesmere Port because of the football pitch, but I'm not really sure as I only went there a few times and that was a long time ago.
  8. Just finishing packing our bags and then we're off to Stansted for an overnight stop (well a few hours kip) before joining the Travel Plus Tour tomorrow am. Might also get Ipswich v Wolves in if the weather is kind to us. Really looking forward to it and to all those travelling out I hope you all have a safe journey and a great time in Prague.
  9. Canada - Timmy Joe Shepherd (one meeting for Hackney in 1975)
  10. Kai Niemi being excluded at White City in 1976 - the reason - no crash helmet!! Two dead heats in one meeting! - a test match at Birmingham in 1975. An awarded dead heat at Rye House v Peterborough in 1974. This came about when both Rye riders were excluded and instaed of a second rerun the ref. awarded the Peterborough riders 2.5 points each. King's Lynn finishing bottom of the league mid 80's - 4 points I think from two away victories - no points from home fixtures!
  11. Len Silver - Nel Revlis After his riding days I seem to recall Len promoted at Sunderland under the name of Nel Revlis (Len Silver backwards).
  12. Can anyone help by providing the times for heats 12, 23 and 25? Thanks very much.
  13. I met a chap last Friday and we got talking about Speedway as you do. He mentioned his only real knowledge of Speedway was through Bryan Seery, who was his Maths teacher at the time, back in the 70's.He hasn't seen or heard of Bryan since those days and did not pursue his mentor's interest of Speedway. Does anyone have any news of Bryan since the demise of Seery's statistics?
  14. Once a Jolly Swagman - filmed in part at New Cross and featured Bill Owen - AKA Compo from Last of the Summer Wine!
