  1. What's the old weather like in Ipswich then ? I'm predicting a reasonably comfortable home win for this one and hoping the enforced change in riding order all works well for the Witches , would have liked to been there but 27'C in Mallorca is preferable at the moment !
  2. I was going to let someone else start this one up as unfortunately I won't be in the country by this time tomorrow but with the wonders of modern technology I will at least be able to keep up with the scores . Well it's the last meeting before the riding order reshuffle and after last nights win at Sheffield I can see no reason why we shouldn't win by a bigger margin , although I thought that when Glasgow came to town and look what happened . I believe we would probably hit 60 with a full team but with no disrespect to Marc Owen 55 is a more realistic figure as he hasn't scored many at Foxhall when he's been before . Here's hoping for a good win and everyone staying fit and healthy !
  3. Lets be honest here , everyone that puts on the Witches No1 race jacket seems to go to pot very quickly ! I would be mightily but very pleasantly surprised if Rohan was any different . Go for it boy !!! Prove us all wrong .
  4. Must admit , I didn't see that one coming . Will be interesting to see if Rohan and Richie just swap places or will Morten go to no5 for a complete reshuffle . Not really sure what would be best for the strongest partnerships , probably just the straight swap . Team total is now 42.94 so we've gone from reasonably under to just over the limit . Shows what a decent month of predominantly convincing victories can do ! Richie Worrall has been quite a big disappointment this year while his brother has gone up to an average of over 8 , did we get the right one in I wonder ? Will look forward to seeing the reorganized team in action .
  5. Does anyone know if Adam Ellis is ok as he doesn't appear to have ridden since last Thursdays win over Worky ? He didn't ride for either the Witches or Lakeside on Friday .
  6. Either that or the company he keeps , cramping his style maybe ?
  7. Problem is that 15 mins of actual racing in 2 to 3 hours depending on stoppages is going to be boring to the youth of today when they are used to filling in every minute on PlayStations or Xbox's! I just cannot ever see youngsters really getting into Speedway these days.
  8. Was eagerly awaiting the latest greensheet averages to be issued to see if Morten was going to replace Richie W at no1 given their respective scores recently only to realize issue 30 on 21-8-14 is identical as july's . Any idea how this can be ? Or has someone just published this before actually getting a calculator out ! If so what's the point ? Sorry , stupid question really when talking about those that control our sport !
  9. After some of the results of late I think the current top 4 are going to safely be in the playoff zone , that's Somerset , Edinburgh , Ipswich and Berwick with Scunthorpe also in a very strong position . Due to varying issues like injuries , rain offs , lack of racing and recent results its now going to be a monumental struggle for the likes of Peterborough and Workington now to get into the top 6 so I'm beginning to think its flip a coin for the final place .
  10. I rather think that Brian Messengers unbeaten since taking over as manager stint will come to an abrupt end tonight. Personally I can see nothing but a comfortable home win as the Witches hate the Somerset track as much as they hate Foxhall. I will have to concede to the Bald wise ones comments and go for a 20+ margin home win.
  11. Told you it would be close , close to a complete battering ! What is it about the "Better" ? teams that come to Foxhall , they seem to fall apart ! Somerset, Berwick and Workington all comfortably beaten . The only top team to get anything has been Edinburgh . Anyway , stand up the real Cameron Heeps who has been sadly missing for most of the year , has he finally found his mojo at last ? Hopefully he can carry it on into the real business end of the season . A really good overall performance from the whole team to dispatch Workington in some style ! Keep it up guys and well done .
  12. Baldy you pillock, you dis Bach and he promptly wins his next 2 races!
  13. I must admit personally I think this could be closer than alot of people think as Worky have a number of riders more than capable of scoring well, as said Glasgow came and should have won but Somerset are a much better team than them and have been well beaten 3 times at Foxhall! It all depends on who turns up on the night and track prep, if it's grippy I'm not sure that will suit the Comets at all. Side issue, Jenga you must be a pessimist like me, never expect too much but if you pull something out of the bag it's a bonus!
  14. Since when does Barbara Horley ref a meeting without at least 1 absolute howler of a decision? She's done plenty of one's I've been to and I've not seen a faultless night yet!
  15. This meeting sees the first visit of the season to Foxhall of Workington, a team with monumental fixture problems predominantly caused by the weather. They visit with playoff ambitions if they can complete enough meetings and will certainly be looking to pick up something from a match that is vital for both teams. With the Witches having picked up 7 league points from 2 away fixtures in the last few days they don't want to waste that effort by losing at home in this one. The Witches will be at full strength and the Comets have 2 changes at reserve due to injury problems. Personally I'm looking forward to the meeting as it's always nice to see some different opposition, not the same teams over and over again and will need hoping for a reasonable size home win having snatched defeat from the jaws of victory so spectacularly in Cumbria earlier in the season. So how does everyone think this one will pan out?
  16. So as we all knew anyway the referees just make up the rules as they see fit then? A bit like the powers that be with the whole rule book!
  17. I'd hardly call the home team underdogs. The outcome of tonight will all be about if the Panthers new boys hit the ground running or not! If they do a home win, if they don't then an away win could be on the cards. Alot could also depend on which Richie Worrall turns up, hopefully not the one that was at Rye on Saturday!
  18. Would lover to be able to attend this one but sadly work will probably take me south rather than north from Ipswich on Tuesday . I don't think the Witches will ever have a better chance to take some points away from the EOES given the changes made by The Panthers to help secure a position in the playoffs .
  19. If that's the case then it makes sense , the BSPA up to its usual standard of administration then !
  20. Ive just been reading the rules for the playoffs , interesting that it's the top 6 teams after 28 meetings to contest them but the top 2 after initial 24 meetings that get to pick the other teams in their groups . By my reckoning teams might have ridden 24 but not necessarily the right 24 because of cancellations so how is that going to work when it comes to deciding the top 2 ? It seems like a statistical/logistical nightmare having PL2 fixtures completed before first one's have been run ! So as we approach the business end of the season the plot thickens on who will be in the top 6 and who will have the picks and do they deserve to ?
  21. Yup , home now and it certainly went better than I'd expected . Going into ht15 all I was saying was please don't get 5-1'd against and the Morten/Rohan combo promptly delivered one for us securing the full 4 league points ! I do have to agree with other's thoughts though that this is a very poor Rye team that will struggle to avoid the wooden spoon . Really not sure what the hell was going on with Worrall tonight but im sure it's one he will quickly want to put behind him . Still , well pleased for the Witches lads and the result and I would also like to say it was nice to meet and put a face to the names and meet Bandits4ever and Shadders ! Hope your teams performances improve to give you a better end to the season .
