  1. So who do we get a reduction for as this team adds up to 42.54 ? Well according to the final greensheet averages for 2013 and Gino being on 5.00 it does ?
  2. Biggest problem is that everyone wants the best riders with the most potential to increase their averages , unfortunately there's not enough of them to go around !
  3. Would still prefer Covatti instead of Risager , he looked class in the 16 lapper . Would still leave 3.something for last reserve .
  4. How about this lineup Richie Worrall. 8.64 Cameron Heeps. 6.74 Rohan Tungate. 7.05 Nico Cavatti. 7.20 from elite ave converted Gino Manzares. 5.00 assessed Ritchie Hawkins. 3.96 That's 38.59 leaving 3.91 for the other reserve birth . Robert Lambert on 3.00 maybe ??? Now , imo that's a team that would compete for silverware but as most of us fear Morten is likely to be around and CL probably wouldn't be ambitious enough to really go for it and be so ruthless .
  5. Im sure drug testing is necessary as quite a few seem to be on something , and not just this thread either ! To be fair though the 16 lapper included top riders when we were in the top league and better prizes/prize money was on offer , doing it in the PL the overall standard is bound to be of a lower level . I like many would love to see us back in the top league of British Speedway but only when the time is right and it's financially viable , I somehow don't think that will be decided until the Sky money issue is resolved .
  6. With Cam having his op today will there be any Witches left to ride in the 16 lapper ? Im sure none of Ben , Leigh or Rohan will be wanting to do that many laps and and with Adam and Cam both out that leaves Ritchie and Morten flying the flag for us at our signature meeting ! Should be an interesting lineup when announced , hopefully one or two potentials for next year ??? Would young Robert Lambert at 15 be allowed to ride in such an event or is the minimum age 16 for this as well ?
  7. I think it's fair to say that young Robert Lambert will be on every team's wish list as he has certainly taken the National league by storm this year , but who can secure his signature , that's the question ??? Whoever is successful with have an absolute bargain at reserve . I've got a feeling that he's not 16 till around April though so whatever team gets him will end up making new team declarations very quickly . Just checked he's 16 on 5th April so depending on how the league's are setup he may be joining a team late .
  8. Anyway , back to speculation assuming we are in the same league , who would we want back next year ? For me , Ben . Probably yes as he's said he would do things differently if given another chance to be our true out and out No1 and hopefully will be given the opportunity to prove it . Cam . Definitely yes , the kid has shown massive progression this year and is going places in this sport . 100% needs to be around next year . Rohan . Hmmm unsure , again probably yes , hasn't improved as much as I would have hoped this season but im sure he has it in him to do so . Leigh . I don't think so , im not sure if continuing with him is the way forward for the Witches as he's obviously on the way down in his career . Morten . It's a no im afraid , he should be so much better at this level but just seems to keep going missing when the pressure is really on and won't leave the white line . Adam . Another unsure , great if he can gate but passing when behind has been virtually non existent , bikes seemed slow , has put over a point on his average but personally I was expecting to see more of a racer after the hype about him . Ritchie . Would like to see him back if he still wants to carry on speedway , after a slowish start has come good and has bagged a few decent scores , a solid reserve in my opinion . That's my opinion on the current team , will save my ideas on potential newcomers for a later post .
  9. As far as atmosphere goes everyones comments are correct , it is abysmal at Foxhall . I still don't understand why things like air horns are banned as although they can be irritating if used to excess they certainly add to the whole ambiance of a visit to a sporting event . I know it's about noise levels but it's not like Foxhall is a town center stadium and the locals know what happens on a Thursday night in Ipswich anyway . The only way to improve atmosphere is to increase crowd size and the only way to do that is to provide excitement by giving something that the public wants to see ! As a side issue they don't exactly help themselves at Ipswich on the crowd front as although they offer " kids go free " in the school holidays they never seem to do any deals at any other times as other tracks seem to . From a personal point of view I would have been a season ticket holder for many years but am not for one reason , they are under no circumstances transferable and I have to miss 3 or 4 meetings a year for various reasons and that makes buying one uneconomical . If only they were flexible enough to allow someone else to use a season ticket they would have my money in their pockets before the start of any season ! As I said the Witches promotion don't particularly help themselves or the paying public and I think that's half the problem at the moment !
  10. Although I would love to see the highest possible standard of Speedway available at Foxhall next year I will be happy to go with whatever level is financially viable ! Ultimately we dropped down because we couldn't afford to compete in the EL and that may possibly still be the case as im sure most of us have no idea of the precise level of sponsorship Sackers very kindly provide us with . Im sure there will be teams across the board that are going to struggle to come up with the cash for the compulsory safety fences and also those around that have been on the edge financially this year anyway . Obviously this is all speculation as nobody knows how the league's will be set up or how many there will be or wether sky still be involved or not so my humble opinion is at this stage that I will take any Speedway that is sustainable in the current economical environment over none at all !
  11. God , are you serious ? That would be a shocking team in one big league !
  12. Seriously soggy now in town and wall to wall cloud , unless it stops sooner than expected I doubt it will go ahead
  13. Clouding over and breezy but no sign of any wet stuff yet in Ipswich
  14. Does anyone know if we are going to need to get a guest for an injured guest ?
  15. I have to admit my interest in attending this meeting has just waned somewhat having woken to discover the latest change in the Witches lineup . Although I want to see them sign off with a win its not really going to be my team out there and will be of far more interest to Worky fans anyway . This may sound harsh but im seriously thinking of saving my hard earned cash for the upcoming 16 lapper finale to the season and giving Thursday a miss . The weather forecast is also looking seriously dodgy anyway .
  16. Well , with new averages out everyone is able to take an r/r ride for Leigh and if Ben is fit enough it could be an interesting encounter . Klindt as a former T/R holder obviously knows his way round Foxhall although he is notoriously inconsistent . Will we have enough motivation in our locker and fire left in us to help out the Comets ? Who knows but I would like to think the boys will be determined to sign off with a home win ! Who would have thought we would have a situation arrive when all the whoop whoop Comets fans would be busting for a Witches win ! I just hope we can do you that favour and see us end our home season in style .
  17. Not a lot of chance of the Witches doing the Comets any favours on Thursday after the disasters at Newcastle tonight I'm afraid !
  18. Sad way to end the season especially for all the injured riders ! We can only wish them all the best in their recoveries and return meaner and leaner asap !
  19. Probably a lack of thread from our point of view coz we pretty much know what's going to happen and it ain't gonna likely be pretty for us I'm afraid !
  20. It would be nice if we refound our gating ability without getting excluded for this meeting . Would also be nice not to need tacticals and bring home some silverware which I believe we deserve after a generally good year . Alot could depend on Bens form as he seems to have been good for Brum and not Ipswich since his return from injury . If our guest reserve can pick up a few points that could also have a bearing . If the Witches ride like they did at home against Worky they've got no chance but if they pick it up a bit its gonna be tight and could well end up as a last heat decider .
  21. Its amazing how opinions differ on how ones team is likely to perform . Agree about Zummerzet winning the playoffs but you're kidding yourself about our group . To me Eddyburgh must be clear favourites by the proverbial country mile , the Witches have hardly been in scintillating form recently with one or two riders definitely showing end of season tiredness . Much as I would love to be proved wrong I predict the Rabbles beating the Monarchs in the final .
  22. You mean like the 4pts he got in the drawn PL match ? Ooh and almost forgot the 5pts he got in the home defeat to your good selves .
  23. Robert Lambert is only 15 and can't ride PL , I didn't include Lewis Kerr for 2 reasons , he is currently on a PL average of 5.45 according to PL greensheets and of course rides for Newcastle . As I said before Stefan Nielsen has been shocking at Foxhall this year , has been here at least 3 times and im not sure he's even scored a point .
  24. Having looked at the NL greensheets there are quite a few NEG ( not eligible to guest ) riders in there but there are still a few that could do the job for us . Certainly my first choices appear in that NEG list . Of the rest alas Robert Lambert isn't old enough Stefan Nielsen has been shocking around Foxhall this year so the likes of Liam Carr or Josh Bates would seem to be the best options available . No doubt we will find out in the next day or so .
  25. Didn't Josh Bates guest for Adam earlier this season and do quite well ? I think someone of his Ilk would fit the bill as most of the other better NL guys have already achieved a 4+ average .
