  1. Sigh. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. To get an AVERAGE you need to contest 4 home, 4 away league matches To become an ASSET you need to contest 6 home, 6 away league matches I'll just add that changes to your 1-7 cannot be made after September 12th, unless it is to reintroduce an injured rider while dumping his direct "injury replacement". Also (the "Paul Bentley rule") if a rider is in your final 1-7 at the end of a season, but not included in your opening 1-7 the following season, you can't later bring him back in!.
  2. Not really. The teams posted against the fixture say that, but may be out of date (they suggest Pepe isn't riding, although I think he is) But the press release issued this morning and copied to the site definately indicates r/r for Seb and Lasse Bjerre as guest, which would be for Ricky. Think you'll find the smallest Dane in the world will be No 1.
  3. Aw, c'mon lads! Let's get 2012 done before we start the "Berwick 2013" thread (which will still attract at least 1,000 posts by Christmas). In addition to scoring ability (proven and potential) it is necessary to consider who are assets of other promotions, who are on Berwick's retained list. To be discussed. When the season's over, and we've nowt else to do!
  4. Bandits website indicates usual line-up, but without naming the guest. So that'll be 1. Jimmy The Guest, 2. David Bellego, 3. Nicki Barrett, 4. Robin Aspegren, 5. Sebastian Alden, 6. Mickey Dyer, 7. Klaus Jakobsen What about the Comics?
  5. Why would you want Nicki replaced? He has looked fine to me, and seems to have fitted into the Shielfield scene pretty well. He won't become an asset this year (although his average will change in October) but to want him replaced (by whom?) seems a bit excessive.
  6. Nonsense, bigger crowd than over last 5/6 weeks, possibly including Workington visit. Maybe difficult to judge from your seat in the stand, but from back straight we can see how many stand seats are full. Also many more than usual on first turn, no doubt in and around the bouncy castle and face-painting booth. Did you get your face touched up?
  7. Announced on Saturday that programme would be only £1 tonight, and so will the beer!
  8. What does the panel think? What is more important to each of us (personally)? Attracting a huge crowd by the cutting of prices, etc, but Plymouth winning (after a close match) -- or Bandits winning by a stack and getting all three points in front of a regular-sized attendance?
  9. For God's sake, you idiot, give up. The only pathetic thing about Ipswich Speedway is you
  10. Berwick website announces two signings. Nicki Barratt and Micky Dyer will ride on Friday, alongside guest Stuart Robson, who comes in for Ricky Ashworth. Any news from Rebel-land of their chosen reserve guests?
  11. He is still advertised as being at Edinburgh on Friday for Matty Wethers (well-deserved) Testimonial
  12. Yeah, right. Run the World U-21 Final at lunchtime on a Friday, just to let Rebels' reserves get back to the OTA in time for a (rearranged) PL match? Good one, old-timer. Indeed. You get guests for bother British reserves (up to their averages of course) but only r/r for an Australian.
  13. Or even their mettle Agreed. Rebels should be proud to have their two (British) reserves nominated for the event. The rule-book even allows a "proper" guest for the lower reserve (instead of an NL rider) in this instance. I think the ACU/SCB have honoured the club, rather than be thought to be picking on them.
  14. Easy to say, but as Mike Bowden will currently hold the rights to stage speedway at the Plymouth facility, were the BSPA to just withdraw (or withold) his licence there would be no speedway at Plymouth, and the Devils would join the Wasps in the PL history books. The BSPA cannot just say "Move over Mike, we've got this other guy here who wants to try his luck at your track". To effect any change, Mike will require to sell his promoting rights, lease, etc, etc, to any prospective buyer. Who would themselves have to then prove to the BSPA they were sufficiently qualified, financially secure and experienced in running speedway meetings.
  15. Hmmm, any of your current team guilty of doing that in the past?
  16. James currently rides for the Kumho Kings. Arguably the best rider in the NJL, would easily hold an NL place if clubs would hire a rider from so far north.
  17. Believe the Pairs are based on the aggreate of a club's top three (active) riders from this season only, not the rolling averages. But I'll leave it to the nerds to calculate which three clubs won't be making it to Somerset on that basis.
  18. Ooooh, that's a bit supercilious! Glad I'm not able to go to this one, else you might have had a hefty handbag applied to your ear. (Thanks to later poster who answered my query sensibly)
  19. So what's the line-up tonight, as it ain't August yet?
  20. Does this table take into consideration the difference between 3-point and 2-point home wins, and/or points collected from away defeats? Or is it just the old-fashioned wins v losses?
  21. Mark Jones would be a sensible signing -- he lives in the south-west, doesn't he? But Redcar stated he has retired?
  22. Heffenbrock was named by Germany as their representative in the GP Challenge at Berwick, but replaced at last minute by Marcin Helfer (who has just been signed by Edinburgh) so maybe he's not currently fit to ride?
