Regardless of who was winning or losing the deciding race, to allow anyone at all to stand inside the exclusion zone while a race continued is inexplicable. As there has been considerable photographic evidence of this (and, l presume, video coverage) the SCB will have to take action. Not regarding the end result, but because of the blatant disregard of the H&S aspect. Heads must roll.

Absolutely not! Regardless of the calendar, and prevailing weather, tracks are NOT expected to be dusty! As one who attends several tracks fairly regularly, I can say with some certainty there are those where dust can be practically guaranteed, and others where it is never, ever, a problem. Dust at speedway is a result of inadequate preparation, not from any great expectations.

Jye won the Premiership title for Sheffield in 2023 with his points at Owlerton (Heats 12 & 14) in the final. -

As he won the league for them (Heats 12 & 14) in 2023, he surely deserves the gig! -
Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025
crescent girl replied to emilali's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Some interesting 'whatever/maybes' in this discussion.......... What I'd chip in is, contrary to world opinion, Cami Brown proved a good manager on Saturday and deployed his limited resources very well. He had two heat-leaders, two young reserves and two woefully ineffective guests, but juggled them well. -

It does, he could replace either Jack Smith or Sam Hagon -- but to make such a change on the strength of one audition could be a risk....... -

So we agree to disagree. Actually, I've just written a piece on this subject too! Snap! -

Gotta disagree. FIM Europe are the lap-dogs of OneSport, etc. Just ask Armando! -

Huge difference between true FIM events (ie, World Championships) and those under the banner of FIM Europe, which are in the main a growing series of events organised for Polish TV. -

Full marks to Drew Kemp, choosing club over country on Saturday night. He really has been a superb signing by Berwick. -
Tate (much easier to spell than Zischke) is injured. The guest for Erik Riss will be another tongue-twister in Antti Vuolas

On Friday, Glasgow list their regular 1-7. Berwick have Bachelor in place of Craig Cook (certified unwell) but otherwise list their expected 1-7. -
Scunthorpe vs Poole 18.07.2025

These guys are professionals. They will earn hundreds of pounds if they win Heat 15. A big hitter will be unhappy to be "rested" from the race in case he gets hurt....... -

Really looking forward to seeing Scottie at Shielfield on Saturday. he's one of the good guys. In other news, Bandits return to Armadale on Friday, August 1st, rearranged as part of a double-header alongside an NDL fixture. -
Workington v Poole Sat 12th July 6pm start
crescent girl replied to AndiCapp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Workington people must have had a shock when they heard about the troubles, and it must be a wake-up call for lapsed supporters to get over to the north side and see how good speedway can be. No excuses, rally the troops and get the terraces teeming! You've got a superb speedway. Use it or lose it. -

All change! Cookie is listed as returning to duty tomorrow at Oxford. Justin Sedgmen had been on stand-by, but is now stood down. In other news, Drew Kemp assumes the captaincy -- a sign of the times that he's the longest-serving Bandit -- and rider-replacement will operate for Danyon at #3. -
The population of the Workington/Whitehaven/Maryport/Cockermouth conurbation is around 70,000. The population of Berwick-on-Tweed is only 12,000. with no larger town or city for 60 miles. Speedway has survived continuously in Berwick for 57 years. Whatever the reason for the ebb and flow of speedway appreciation in Workington, it isn't lack of population.

BERWICK v EDINBURGH (July 5)
crescent girl replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It was an awful crash. All four riders were still pretty bunched coming out the last bend, and when Jonatan Grahn whacked the fence on the home straight his bike careered straight into Danyon's path. He somersaulted right over it, coming down on his head or neck, with his bike (which may have caused the real damage) landing right on top of him from a height. While seriously hurt, the news that he is awake, and has full movement is a great relief. To the person, the idiot, who complained about the meeting not concluding, I can only say that while the club operates dual medical cover, the severity of Danyon's injuries meant that both paramedics and their staff were quite rightly fully engaged in working with him, right there on the track. Some things in speedway are more important than getting the next race on. Get well, Danyon. You are one of the happiest, friendliest chaps I've ever met. Why do bad things happen to good people?- 84 replies

Technically, he'll be classified as withholding services, so full facility for 28 days

After a long break -- caused by Armadale weather and Worky woes -- Bandits and Monarchs get back on track tonight. Local weather seems set to be dry. All systems go! -
If any of the Comets team have financial worries as a result of this unfortunate hiatus in their season, they might consider applying to the (excellent) SRBF for help.

Blantyre 1 was OK, just difficult for visitors to adjust to the tight bends. Fully agree about 2 tho.....
