  1. As posted on the match thread on Wednesday, Jye is 3, Leon at 4.
  2. Back to a seven-man team for the FTS Bandits, with the Pirates seeking a first-ever victory on a Berwick circuit, despite all their titles. The reigning champions should have their standard line-up, while Bandits introduce their two new signings. Hans Andersen, coming into the position left open by Thomas Jorgensen's season-ending crash, has a glittering CV to speak for itself -- multiple World Cup winner ,multiple GP winner, etc, etc -- and Steve Boxall could hardly not have been promoted from the Bullets (replacing the injured Jacob Hook) after a startling last-minute audition at Armadale last week. The visitors lost by just two points on their first-ever Shielfield visit in 2021, and grabbed a very fortunate draw last season (after Chris Harris had to pull out the final race with a burnt-out clutch while leading) so might be anticipating a "third time lucky" result. However, the team spirit shown by Berwick's injury-ravaged squad against Redcar last Saturday means nothing's likely to be settled until the last race...... Expected lineups: FTS BANDITS: 1 Rory Schlein, 2 Jonas Knudsen, 3 Jye Etheridge, 4 Leon Flint (capt), 5 Hans Andersen, 6 Steve Boxall, 7 Connor Coles WESSEX MARINE PIRATES: 1 Richard Lawson, 2 Kyle Newman, 3 Ben Cook, 4 Zach Cook, 5 Steve Worrall (capt), 6 Anders Rowe, 7 Adam Roynon As ever, discounted early-bird e-tickets are already on sale from www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets Kids go free, of course. BanditsTV official livestream is available at https://tv.berwickspeedway.com/ Plus (how could we forget) there is a large, free, car-park right beside the stadium!
  3. The promotion have been quick off the mark, replacing TJ with a legend.....
  4. Plymouth are at Berwick on September 9th, so CDC extension until then, at least
  5. His average is too high to ride at reserve, quite a bit above Hooky, and two points above Connor.
  6. Fair comment. It's like being offered a double-shift at work -- bigger pay-packet at end of week. What work you're doing, if it's your usual trade, isn't important.
  7. Drone is certainly better than helmetcam. On another note, did discovery+ miss a trick last night, not picking up that Darcy was there, and interview him?
  8. OK, let's hear from wannabe team bosses...... Who should be booked in to replace Hooky on Saturday?
  9. Did a pretty fair job as well, it seems. Great manager!
  10. Yes, best of anyone l've ever seen, and did it regularly, at different clubs
  11. Not so. If new face is a trainee, he/she will be in box with the senior official, and may be invited to take control of some races under guidance. Once test has been passed, the new referee has a probationary period during which the senior referee will be present in stadium, but not usually in the box, assessing performance from various points during the meeting.
  12. National Motorcycle Museum (close to airport) is a huge place. Worth a visit for folk with biking interests.
  13. Yeah, it's called the weather. Mark Phillips most certainly tried really hard to get last Tuesday on, was battling the elements right up to about 6.45, when one final burst of rain during referee and skippers track inspection ended the hopes. Very unlucky.
  14. If it was about the 'robbery' l'd say it looked justified from where l was. Sooner we get the transponders running the better....
  15. Hence the number of tracks who run NDL teams, and can fill out their summer
  16. The rule has always (for years and years) been there: A guest must be in an official 1-7 in any (British) league. While it unfortunately prevents unnattached riders such as Proctor or Turner guesting, it also stops a crafty promoter parachuting Zmarzlik or Madsen in for a vital fixture, or more likely in the scenario suggested above where a rider could remain unattached but hawk himself around the leagues on a 'have bike, will travel' basis The rule might be harsh on Turner, etc, but it is necessary.
  17. Well, Berwick have had a good few riders over the years who have combined quite a few overseas commitments with regular Saturday racing .....
