  1. The return of the "Comics" after five years (far too long) absence should have Shielfield swinging on Saturday! GHT Bullets: 1 Connor Coles, 2 Archie Freeman (r/r), 3 Jamie Halder, 4 Danny Phillips, 5 Greg Blair (capt) 6 Mason Watson, 7 Josh Embleton Comets: 1 Lee Complin (guest), 2 Ace Pijper, 3 Sam McGurk, 4 Harry McGurk, 5 Luke Crang (capt), 6 Kelsey Dugard, 7 Elliot Kelly The shrewd addition of Lee Complin for Connor Bailey will give the visitors a considerable boost, and their line-up is certainly stuffed full of former Berwick riders who have represented Berwick at a number of levels --- but with the GHT Bullets yet to lose an NDL league or play-off match at Shielfield since their formation, Kevin Little's squad will certainly be shooting straight, and aiming to maintain the home record. Added attraction will be a 6-heat NJL contest between the Academy and the visiting Workington Meteors Academy: 1 Kieran Douglas, 2 Owen Booth, 3 Liam Morris, 4 Rocco Webb Meteors: 1 Callum Foy, 2 Laylan Richardson, 3 Emerson Betty, 4 Casper Kluczniak Comets followers going over to Berwick -- the club's nearest local derby -- on Saturday night should note the early-bird offer of advanced e-tickets by Bullets: Adults/Concessions/OAP/Students are only £12, Accompanied children (under 16) free Buy online before Saturday from: https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/ Pay on the day price (cash at turnstiles or e-ticket) £14 21 races (National Development League match + Northern Junior League) -- tapes up at 7pm

  3. The meeting at which Josh Auty was injured (home v Berwick) was abandoned after his crash. The result did not stand, so it wouldn't appear on his record.
  4. Good news is that Jonas Knudsen is hoping to take his place in the line-up on Saturday. Greg Blair continues in place of Nathan Stoneman. Scunny are changing their line-up, bringing in Nathan Ablitt to replace the very unlucky-to-be-dumped Joe Thompson and Max Clegg to fill the spot that Zaine Kennedy has not been able to take up after his injury in Australia. NDL teams are as expected, r/r for Archie.
  5. As expected, it's Max Clegg and Nathan Ablitt coming in, Joe Thompson out. That's official.
  6. Edinburgh Academy's match with Kent on Friday has Danny Phillips in as a guest in place of Nathan Ablitt, who is listed as being "on Championship duty"...... He ain't gonna be riding for Glasgow, Oxford or Birmingham.................
  7. Maybe a bigger change, the Scorpions are naming Connor Mountain at reserve for Friday. No details of who'll be at #3 and #6 as yet.
  8. This week, it's a quid a heat for thirty races, with free parking.... Quite a bit less per race than other places, where you pay to park, and then hand over £20 or more to get in........
  9. It's a quid a race... Free car-parking. How does that compare with other tracks, where you pay up to £1.50 per heat on a normal night after parking the car? Just saying......
  10. Just to clarify. Erik Riss was suspended by the SCB for riding in Germany last week. Redcar have a 28-day facility to cover the suspension, hence Lawson's guest appearances.
  11. Early-bird e-tickets now on sale at discounted prices -- save £2 by buying online in advance from: https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/ Teams line up as: Berwick FTS Bandits (powered by Keenwood Karpets)1 Thomas Jørgensen 9.532 Jonas Knudsen 5.003 Leon Flint 7.00 Captain4 Jye Etheridge 6.295 Rory Schlein 8.186 Connor Coles 2.007 Nathan Stoneman 2.00 Edinburgh Stellar Monarchs1. Josh Pickering (captain) 8.922. Lasse Fredriksen 4.003. Kye Thomson 6.604. Paco Castagna 4.935. Craig Cook 8.246. Kyle Bickley 2.867. Jacob Hook 4.00 Highlight of the evening could be the return of Craig Cook as a Monarch. He was a long-time Shielfield track record holder, until the circuit was altered and Dan Bewley established the current record. Can the Cookie Monster return a new fastest time? Of course, he'll have to win a race to do so..... Despite Glasgow having an advantage in leading this BSN section, there will also be a "fastest second" place for a fourth qualifier in the semi-finals, which could easily fall to either team here, given results elsewhere. Everything to race for -- and plenty to prove!
  12. Well, Lewi Kerr (and Benjamin Basso) got fined for their attacks, probably £300 each. But this has nowt to do with Phil Morris. Referees report such incidents to SCB, who levy the punishments. Phil is is charge of 'improving the product' for the Premiership, not disciplining handbag-wielding riders....
  13. Bomber's return will certainly increase the pressure on the home side, but much will depend on Bandits' new boys hitting the groud running. This looks like a pretty evenly-matched section of the BSN Series, could go to the wire next weekend.
  14. Opening night at Shielfield, and early-bird e-tickets are available from: https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/ Under-16s free. FTS BANDITS: 1 Thomas Jorgensen, 2 Jonas Knudsen, 3 Leon Flint (capt), 4 Jye Etheridge, 5 Rory Schlein, 6 Connor Coles, 7 Nathan Stoneman ALLIED TIGERS: 1 Chris Harris (capt), 2 Marcin Nowak, 3 Jake Allen (guest), 4 Claus Vissing, 5 Benjamin Basso, 6 Lee Complin, 7 Ace Pijper Testing start for the homesters, Glasgow having four ex-Berwick riders (plus Jake Allen, who nearly was!) in their line-up.
  15. I would presume it is because, although named in Worky's 1-7, Luke has not yet raced for them?
  16. While it might be hoped he won't be tested in such a way, Bailey Fellows is permitted to take up to seven rides tonight. A rule amendment applying only to National League racing
  17. It seems some riders have been a bit naughty, using a special 'blue' methanol additive (created for drag racing) to their fuel. After some 'interesting' performances in early meetings, the SCB have issued the following: It has been reported to the SCB that some riders have been adding additives to their methanol. All riders are reminded that only "Pure Methanol" is allowed with no additives as per SCB Regulation 04.2.9Any riders found to be using additives will be subject to an enquiry and the possibility of disciplinary action.(Riders riding 125cc/150cc have the option of Pure Methanol or Unleaded Petrol) This is clearly being taken seriously, as there was after-race fuel tests being carried out on Good Friday at one track, at least...........
  18. When will clubs realise the wisdom of having double medical cover? A full hour since the first start of Heat 1 before the restart. According to medical officer, Archie has suffered a broken leg.
