Well I really sincerely hope the revamps announced at the AGM help to see a change in the fortunes of speedway in the UK. I probably won't be popular saying this but I really don't envy being a promoter and I do have a lot of sympathy with most of them. It must be very difficult getting a successful format to make sure that financially you can get through the season. You only have to look at all the differing views on the forum to see that it is nigh on impossible to please everyone. As supporters, if we want to ensure the sports recovers and thrives we have got to get behind our respective teams and support them rather than constantly moaning. We also need try to bring in new supporters. I know many will say this is the role of promoters which is correct but they need our help and we can make a huge difference in getting more people in through the turnstiles. Here's to the 2017 season!

Why was it left so late to cancel the meeting leaving riders out of pocket again with flights booked etc. The financial situation hasn't changed dramatically in the last few weeks surely! And what about the BSPA's position in all this?

The decline started the minute Coventry had the audacity to beat Poole in the 2010 final!

I have been to quite a few EL meetings at Brandon this year and I would say KK has put a lot of effort in his racing for the Bees this year. That is an opinion from a neutral. I do agree with Steve though that it is the meetings he misses and the reasons for his absence that brings into question his commitment.

Can't agree with that statement. Jason Garrity has been immense for Coventry and Sheffield since he came back from his arm injury. Coventry in particular really missed him in the weeks he was out injured. Just a shame his EL racing has come to a premature end this season.
