  1. Perhaps Matt Ford's vision should be a league of: Poole A Poole B Poole C Poole D Poole E Poole F Poole G Poole H All with international superstars and squads and I am sure, all paid in full and on time. EL sorted!!!
  2. Perhaps the supporters are resigned to the inevitable and maybe don't care anyway with the state of British speedway.
  3. Totally agree Starry. My wife who has probably only watched a handful of meetings in the last 15 years or so said why has the rules changed? If a rider takes the chance to anticipate the start he runs the risk of touching the tapes and being excluded. If he gets it right then can't see a problem.
  4. Thanks. I just thought it rather odd to put something up on the Coventry website without a bit more background to it!
  5. Don't rise to it - just someone looking for a reaction which is all too often on the forum these day.
  6. Matt has a mate?!! Oh, you mean Starry!!
  7. Don't worry, you have banging on about how Swindon & Coventry in particular should be making more protests to save the respective clubs and that Poole supporters would never let that happen so I am sure you will be fine!
  8. I think you make a good point. I have said for a number years that social media. twitter, forums and google does spoil a lot of sports by knowing and hearing what is allegedly going on in speedway. I am certainly not a dinosaur where technology is concerned but I did like the 'pure' nature of standing on the terraces with only the knowledge of newspaper reports/radio etc. Not sure if it would help new supporters enjoy it more though.
  9. Interesting it took a BV supporter to post the Echo link on here whereas the previous 2 posters are normally on the ball regarding P&P!!
  10. Turn your monitor/screen upside down then it makes perfect sense¬!!
  11. Of course they would. They only lost to a good Lakeside team by 2 pts. I do take your point though about the viability of running in the El on Saturdays.
  12. Great meeting for the neutral. I thought the track was well prepared and allowed passing on the inside and outside. Writing looked on the wall for Bees after first few heats but I thought they fought back brilliantly. I was surprised by the performances of Lindgren and Nicholls. Lindgren looked very slow for some reason and I was expecting a big score from Scott after his good meeting at Poole on Monday. Both teams had equal amounts of good and bad luck. It will be a massive tragedy to lose Brandon with its facilities and when it serves up racing as it did on Friday night.
  13. Thanks for the info guys. Looking forward to this meeting - should be close!
  14. What's the weather like over Coventry way? Is there still hold-ups at Tolbar Island?
  15. Very laudable. Well done to all those involved. Hopefully be there tomorrow night!
  16. And he reiterated that at the Evening with Olsen at the Cleveland Arms in Wolverhampton in February this year saying British Speedway gave him everything and it really hurts him to see it in the state it is now in.
  17. Good to have a bit of positive news regarding the campaign but who will be prepared to put in some investment into the stadium to improve the facilities? The only people that it would be in the interests of to invest would be the stadium owners and why would they invest if they want it sold for building?
  18. I think the Poole should have been kept back in detention on Monday evening!!!
  19. You would think so the way they rode on Monday but some of the aces team don't always go that well at Brandon.
  20. Interesting data. So comparing Bournemouth and Manchester, on the days that it rains, Bournemouth has the heavier rainfall - that explains the hole then at Wimborne Rd!! I have a daughter that lives in Didsbury, Manchester and I don't reckon it rains anywhere as much as people think - as demonstrated by the statistics provided!
  21. You do talk a load of codswallop Steve. Both riders have almost identical averages. In the meeting you are referring to, Buczkowski scored 12 points riding at No4 and Kylmakorpi scored 10+1 riding at 5 so I would put JK at least as good as Buczkowski given that he was riding against Poole and tonight he will be riding with them. So now way this weakens the Pirates and I go for a 14 point win.
