  1. I'm intending to go through for the first time in probably the best part of about ten years. When I was young free and single I would often do the trio: Edinburgh Friday, Berwick Saturday and Glasgow Sunday and I would recognise a few other individuals who did the same. I stopped going to Armadale for one of the reasons you pointed out, it was a really toxic aggressive argumentative vibe. For clarification that might just have coincided with where I was standing, I'm 100% not saying everyone was like that, obviously not. Consequently I've not kept abreast of the current entertainment value. When I went it was the Peter Carr era alongside a young Jimmy Grieves and the track produced good racing. I remember Armadale as super grippy. It's sad to hear it's not as good as it was, if indeed that's the case. Spoiled at Ashfield now I guess.......
  2. Aye it's the Premiership "rising star" I'm thinking about.
  3. Interesting...... Perish the thought that I was suggesting any jiggery pokery.
  4. I see on the Monarchs website that Dayle wood is listed at No6. Doesn't your 2.00 reserve have to ride at No7? Hey I'm lost with these rules..... https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2023-06-06/stellar-monarchs-reset-for-huge-derby-duel
  5. Yep the bulk cannot logically be helping but...... we have seen him very much more competitive at home than he was last night.
  6. Do we think Glasgow will go with Claus at No3 and Justin at No4?
  7. Should make a great 2nd leg. It'll be very very interesting to see our reaction, especially from Bomber and Claus. Keep the faith. I can easy see 55-35 with great bouncebackability!
  8. Aye fair enough I wasn't 100% sure. I think I'm right that it tends to work out like that, even if it's not mandatory.
  9. This week, and TBF for a wee while, the only regulations (I think) is that your top average guy must be at 1, your 2nd lowest guy must be at 6, and your lowest guy must be at 7. TBH I'm not 100% sure about the 6 and 7 rules!
  10. I can't believe this thread is still going? Did I miss something? Did the meeting go ahead? Is this an alternative reality?
  11. It's this. It's off, it's still off now, it'll be off all night on the updates, it'll be off on the results tomorrow.
  12. Met Office forecast @ 2315 looks encouraging.... https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcuvz3bch#?date=2023-05-05
  13. Adverse weather looking a strong favourite here.
  14. Cook spitting the dummy, as per. You'd think he'd have learned at his age and experience but apparently not.
  15. Fight fight fight. Ach once a Monarch always a Monarch I guess.
  16. Anything new on next year's plans. Honestly not having a dig. Hey, end of the day, we need each other.
  17. Brushed himself down, back on the horse and won the rerun. They're just no right in the heid are they......?
  18. Of course now that Nicola has resigned the SNP are no longer in power and they have abandoned their independence policy. Woo-hoo. Eh..... Ah.....Ah
  19. I couldn't agree more. However, the Glasgow promotion will 100% increase admission charges, or I'll eat my hat.
  20. This is what was said of David, aged 28, he's now 42: "In heat 13 of Glasgow Tigers' Premier League meeting against the Birmingham Brummies at Ashfield last October, McAllan was left paralysed from the waist down after being involved in a sickening pile-up on the fourth bend of the second lap. He learned to walk again and gets through life with the assistance of 22 various painkillers a day, plus a cocktail of other pills and potions to keep his bladder and bowels in a semblance of working order - not to mention the inconvenience of having to connect a regular round of catheters and bags - but, at 28, he will never ride a speedway bike again." Perhaps we should leave this one and move on....?
