  1. So what? Not relevant to the points being made about Ward.
  2. That's how he wants people to view him, and for the most part he is. But if he did let Tai through to help him over NP I am disappointed, and I hope someone screws him points wise next season. Was it more a case of the paddock seemingly having issues with Nicki?
  3. You know, with anyone else I would be thinking, yes, the guy will learn from this and with that determination the guy will be back and will win a title. We all make mistakes, so I would not be against him being back in 2016 but there is something about Darcy that makes me doubt he has learned from this, and I can't help thinking he will idiot up again before 2016. I hope I am wrong, I want to see him back racing with the likes of Tai, Emil and Holder in 2016.
  4. Yeah, Ward is what makes a GP! The GP will survive without him. I thought the host GP selected the rider for the 16th spot? So in the UK, the British Final winner gets the spot.
  5. I agree, and you can hardly blame him if he had financial problems. The series would be a better place with Emil and I hate to say it Ward (skill wise, not person wise). Hopefully both will be in for the 2016 series.
  6. It does already, they have announced 15 riders, so unless someone pulls out there is no Ward for the 2015 series, other than the occasional wild card entry no doubt.
  7. Echo this. Wildcard's should only be used to allocate riders who missed the top 8 through injury, rest should be from GP challenge.
  8. Points wise Nicki was top three also, so unfair to say he does not deserve his top three place. Not sure what you mean by Greg letting Tai through, but if Greg did let a friend through for points that is highly unprofessional.
  9. The point is you would think he would keep his head down and avoid more controversy. It highlights he is still far from bring professional. Has he learned from this suspension? I doubt it.
  10. Logic and common sense are not things you can associate with Darcy Ward. I noticed over the weekend when browsing the after GP twitter reactions Ward retweeted somebody else's tweet which was being critical of Nicki. I don't call that professional.
  11. I agree that it is good to take the GP to new locations around the world, it would be great to see one back in LA (and Wembley for that matter) but I think the GP is where it is because European fans have supported it. It just seems very unfair that for the next five years European fans will be denied the opportunity to see the Champion crowned. I am not denying the Aussies or anyone the right to have the final GP, but it should be shared around a little more, surely that is only fair and right to fans?
  12. Not sure Philip, For once I would say 90% of posters think Nicki was hard done to.
  13. It's the same as the stupid idea to take the last game of the Premier League season overseas. It is a slap in the face of the season ticket holders and all those fans that pay money to go to every away game. I am not saying the Aussies or the Poles should not have the last round of the GP, what I am saying is it should not be EVERY year... or do travelling fans not matter?
  14. Maybe, but I would not rank him above the other four or five names provided. If he is considered good enough on his racing ability above the other riders then I would not have a problem with him having a GP spot. I would have an issue with him being given a spot on the basis of his nationality.
  15. Ok, lack of information it is no wonder sometimes people speculate. So what's your 'in the know' view. Will Ward be racing in that Aussie GP next October?
  16. I agree it was a tough call but I think 90% of people actually called it the other way around. I am not sure if the riders were reversed if the same call would have been made. I actually feel the referee made his decision on location and riders involved.
  17. How said it is that we are talking about having another Aussie with the GP going there next season. Why are we not talking about who the best riders for the GP series would be, regardless of nationality? Which leaves you with four choices in my opinion: NKI - Has to be nailed on Kildemand - Done enough to suggest he is good enough. Emil - If he wants it? Ward - Should he be given a wildcard is another debate, but he is one of the best out there. I have discounted Batch because he is not good enough. If he is given a wildcard because he is an Aussie it will be incredibly sad for the sport.
  18. Still a slap in the face to the many loyal European speedway fans who follow the circus around Europe for several months of the season, now denied the opportunity to see the World Champion crowned for the next five years.
  19. Wrong..... He took a very large gap, and was hit from the side by another rider trying to close that gap. He generally seems incredibly professional, and showed respect to the top three last night was a nice touch, not always seen by outgoing Champs.
  20. Yep, looks that way. It just struck me, could the Aussie GP being in October be done to allow Ward time to serve any ban to ensure they have him there for the Aussie GP? or am I just being cynical?
  21. I wondered why Pearson kept going on an on about it this evening. It is great that we have a new venue and that the Aussie's get a round of the GP but a part of me feels it is wrong that the season finale will be so far from home for many of the riders, and those loyal fans who travel Europe for the GP season. Unless it is being shared around, and in 2016 the finale will be given to another country other than Aus or Poland.
  22. I agree, but the problem is referees will take the easy option and put all four back every time.
  23. Absolutely, thank you Eurosport for picking up the GP rights. To this day I am amazed Sky dumped the GPs and kept the Elite League.
  24. True, but tonight he was harshly excluded. TV never learn, stick a camera in front of a fallen or excluded rider and they are bound to be swearing, what do these idiot TV cameramen expect.
