  1. Adams first meeting at no 1, Tom back, should be good .
  2. So where are all these moto x engines going to come from and what do riders do with the engines they've already got ?
  3. I just used Tom as an example. But if there aren't any suitable Brits out there, one has to ask why ??
  4. It's the vicious circle isn't it Not enough good Brits ( although Tom perry etc are available) " ahh but he's not good enough" the fans will cry So we leave him ( and others) without the means to compete and improve, then ......... Moan that there aren't any good Brits etc ..... Never mind there's lots of foreigners out there who can fill the places I suppose
  5. But when you do get good English riders coming through they usually don't get the help with vans/ accommodation that the foreign guys seem to get
  6. Rasmus Jensen. That's a good British name !! Nice to see clubs giving young British riders the chance to improve eh ?
  7. Unfortunately that's exactly what you have to do if you want to improve
  8. you love "defending your corner" but ........... both riders got fined for the pits handbags Ben accepted it Cook didn't He spat out his dummy and got thrown out of the meeting for being a cock, He himself admitted it. Why after all these pages does it seem soooo hard for you to accept it ? Just take your fishing rod and go and sit by a loch somewhere, your refusal to accept it's not a conspiracy is getting tedious beyond words, if you aren't trolling then you're just incredibly dense
  9. Yes. He took his punishment, didn't smash up the changing room and didnt get thrown out
  10. 26 pages and probably only about four posts on the actual meeting itself, ever wondered why Joe Public thinks that speedway fans are a bunch of saddo's ??
  11. Hmmmm. A 4,000 km + round trip ??? I think I'll go to that meeting.
  12. If Ben can "push buttons" , more fool Cook for falling for it. I have many friends who are professional rugby players. Before every match they study videos if the opposing team to look for weaknesses. If they identify someone who's easily wound up they target him in the hope he'll lose it and end up sun binned for ten minutes. It's all part of gamesmanship. If Cook lost it after being spoken to by the ref that's not Bens fault. I've only spoken to Ben a couple if times and found him approachable and willing to help. Rather than criticising him maybe he could be a clever bugger who knows just how to get under an opponents skin.
  13. He just aggravated a shoulder injury he'd been carrying for about a month. He actually popped it out when he came off at foxhall the week before last. Gotta love strapping and painkillers
  14. Whether Ben had it coming or not had nothing to do with it. Once the referee gets involved you just say yes sir no sir and get on with it on track. If you were GB manager, would you risk selecting Cook for an important meeting if he can't control his temper ? He'd be an immediate target for opposition riders to wind up a d we've all seen what happens then.
  15. Instead of just big mouthing it on twitter and in the speedway star, Cook should have let his riding do the talking, ditto with the referees fine.... Wind your neck in shake hands and show everyone what you're capable of. Instead he cost his team a place in the final, cheated his own fans ( many who paid hard cash to travel a long way) and made himself look a complete cock in many people's eyes ( GB management included) Way to go Cookie !
  16. Meeting about to start. No thread on here. Nothing on twitter nothing on updates site. Poor show Phew. Finally
  17. Too true. My son (Adam Ellis) is doing brilliantly in the NL, has managed to put nearly 2 points on his starting average of 3 in the PL in his first season of racing in the UK. I pay for his accommodation and supplied him with a van ( two things that foreign riders seem to pick up quite easily) but without some small sponsorship he's been able to pick up in the UK and the fantastic help of Matt Read and his wife we'd be struggling. Just in the last month nearly £2,000 was needed for tyres and a new gearbox on the van and we all know how much engines cost to service etc. there are lots of young English riders in the same position, there doesn't se to be the sponsorship in the UK for them whereas foreign riders seem to be able to demand transport / accommodation etc as part of a deal with ease. For young up and coming riders one engine blow up really could mean the difference between riding and packing up
  18. Adam was struggling all night with the set up on a new clutch. Ended up over compensating while trying to make up for not getting out of the gate and popped his shoulder out in the heat 12 crash
  19. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz And you wonder why we can't attract new people to this sport ....
  20. Because its a well established once a year fixture. The free pens is a little thing but I recall its an insurance company or something that supplies them ( no cost to the club ) They have a big stack of speakers in the centre green pumping out music to get the crowd going ... Commentators going wild ( a la kelvin ) during the heat. ( although I've never heard WWWWOOOOAAAAH SUPER SPEEDWAY. Yet) During a UK meeting there's none of that.
