  1. Shame then. Adam Ellis ( my son ) is ruled out of the NL after competing in only one season of racing
  2. Have the eligibility rules been relaxed ? If there's not enough riders to go round they may have to change ?
  3. Just a thought but maybe some of the tv money could be used to purchase an engine each and pay for the years maintainance for the young British riders that they're encouraging to step up to the EL? Each rider will be expected to have two bikes built to a high standard. Surely this step would help improve British riders coming through the ranks rather than paying a GP riders flights ?
  4. If the rules are changed Adam Ellis flies around the kings Lynn track
  5. Well it's back to 11 pages of vintage stuff so it's probably coming by donkey
  6. I love lots of people arguing on the internet about how the internet isn't effective. Most people I know look at Facebook pages and twitter to keep up to dare with what's going on.
  7. plus you'd feel a right dick for doing it
  8. How many of todays EL announced british youngsters are lost to the NL ?
  9. Maybe if punters could pay the £60+ a ticket that football charges, clubs could then pay riders enough so that they don't need to ride all over the place ?
  10. 1245km ( the true distance from where he was to London) is about 770 miles. I don't think he'd have to rush back for a live on tv draft that they so obviously have lined up eh ?
  11. if they are someone better let Adam know, he's 1,000 kms away lol
  12. For any riders etc looking for sponsorship it is good to know as soon as possible as you can let potential sponsors know where their names will be appearing
  13. Sad but oh so true. I remember getting daily ( and sometimes twice daily) press releases / updates on the kent twitter feed / website etc. sometimes I thought it was overload at times but still checked every day to see what was happening and then ...... It stopped. We know there's conflict at the club but to the casual observer they've ceased to exist. Even in the closed season people like to be kept informed. I follow a few clubs and riders on twitter and it's the best way of keeping up to date on what's going on. I'm nearly 50. If I get it , why can't the promotors ?? It seems to be a question of " I don't understand internet. Therefore it's rubbish"
  14. I think it'll be struggling to find competetive riders !
  15. Let's hope it's sorted at the AGM or I can see some teams really struggling to get riders.
  16. Well that's helping the youngsters development isn't it ?
  17. Unless the rules change at the AGM, Adam's average is 0.25 over the limit. This makes him unable to ride for any team in the NL in only his second year of riding speedway.
  18. Difference between Bordeaux and Claret..... none Difference between Bordeaux and Clairet.... lots
  19. Sorry, haven't been there yet, it's so far north from where i live i got beaten back by polar bears when 30kms away. Going to the big international grasstracks over here with lights/music etc, it frustrates me when i go to a uk speedway and hear music that was out of date when i used to live in England. (1989 !!!!)
  20. pre meeting photoshoot with the rider, choose one rider per week , Advertise it the previous week and give the fans a chance to have their photo taken with their favourite rider. Pit walks, Loud ( modern ) music, DJ's etc ..... get people interested !
  21. Just checking the Ipswich witches website under sponsorship. It's calculated that each meeting costs a rider a minimum of £195 to race. That doesn't include diesel to get there or any major breakages in terms of accidents etc. in my personal experience that's not too far from the truth. Throw in the cost of a mechanic, plus the expense of upgrading kit to be competetive at elite league level and it gives you a rough idea of what Brits are up against if the proposed £40 limit is true. At the moment it's a case of wait and see but just replacing foreigners with young British riders should not be looked at by the clubs as a money saving excercise but as an investment in the future.
  22. I didn't realise there were lots of " speedway journalists" most of the features in the star are just re- hashes of club press releases and the "best of British" feature seems to be a convenient way of padding out 12 pages for half the winter.
  23. Not possible i'm afraid he's ready another clubs asset. I hope the £40 a point is all that's on offer as it would seriously hamper the ability to keep equipment at the level needed to remain competetive. Being able to do all three divisions would also help development/ ability etc.
