It's not a question of reducing my outgoings. It's a question of making sure the young British rider has the best and most economical means of getting his equipment and himself all over the country and Europe to meetings I sponsored him with a secondhand van this year and an exploding fith gear in Munich meant a slow overnight drive from lonigo to Leicester with only 4 gears. The old trailer and car excuse in reducing riders costs is a false flag

No most riders need an unwritten van as speedway is their work. The world I live in ??? Actually I'm just about to provide the aforementioned so that a rider can do just that. Of course I could help them with an old car and trailer that's uneconomical and may break down and cost more in the long run in repairs.

Car crash tv. What a shame, although not a fan of the kent team I always enjoyed their updates. You teally got the inside view of a club emerging from nowhere.
-
What a stupid post. Most riders use modern, economic, small engined, unwritten vans as they are the cheapest and most reliable way of getting them and their equipment to work.

Bt Minority Sports Person Of The YearJonny the spud replied to A ORLOV's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Thank god that's sorted. ...... It was almost turning into an elephantman -esqe banging on about air fences thread.

The non announcement so far does however make it very hard to attract sponsorship for a rider. Especially with the waiting lists at some companies for getting suits / bike covers etc

Speedway Star OnlineJonny the spud replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Is this weeks online edition the same as the printed one ? I.e. half full of stuff that should be in a vintage speedway magazine and not worth the money ? FFS chaps if i wanted to subscribe to a vintage publication i'd search one out

The few times I went. ( not in the van with the bikes ) it cost a bloody fortune in the 4x4
-
	no news ?

I've been to the Island a number of times in the last couple of years, i've seen adverts on the ferry for ...... Garlic farms music festivals supermarkets dinosaur parks markets scooter rallys guest houses cycle rides etc...... etc Speedway ? not one mention in any magazine, leaflet or road sign. it's almost as if a casual visitor to the Island wasn't suppose to know

Actually I'm thinking more about track time. £10 a point doesn't even cover the cost of engine wear/ clutch plates / tyres etc
-
Shame then. Adam Ellis ( my son ) is ruled out of the NL after competing in only one season of racing

Tai Woffinden Versus Range Rover Sport (autocar)Jonny the spud replied to JT's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Jawa engine ?

Have the eligibility rules been relaxed ? If there's not enough riders to go round they may have to change ?
-
Just a thought but maybe some of the tv money could be used to purchase an engine each and pay for the years maintainance for the young British riders that they're encouraging to step up to the EL? Each rider will be expected to have two bikes built to a high standard. Surely this step would help improve British riders coming through the ranks rather than paying a GP riders flights ?

British Speedway Promoters MeetingJonny the spud replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions I love lots of people arguing on the internet about how the internet isn't effective. Most people I know look at Facebook pages and twitter to keep up to dare with what's going on.
-
plus you'd feel a right dick for doing it
-
How many of todays EL announced british youngsters are lost to the NL ?
-
Maybe if punters could pay the £60+ a ticket that football charges, clubs could then pay riders enough so that they don't need to ride all over the place ?
-
1245km ( the true distance from where he was to London) is about 770 miles. I don't think he'd have to rush back for a live on tv draft that they so obviously have lined up eh ?
-
if they are someone better let Adam know, he's 1,000 kms away lol
-
For any riders etc looking for sponsorship it is good to know as soon as possible as you can let potential sponsors know where their names will be appearing
