  1. I think you will find i have never said that i wanted him out orion...as you say that's not a fact, its what you think. I was surprised when he left and somewhat disappointed. My beef with Rosco was that he needed to learn when to keep his mouth shut, because it was becoming embarassing. What i will admit, is that i didn't realise how important he was to speedway in the town. When he left it became painfully obvious. For the record, i am relieved he has returned (i said that before we won the championship) and i have no doubt he will be GB Manager in the not too distant future.
  2. Orlovski, the reason Rosco hasn't held the GB Managers job in the past, is because he used to be a bit of an embarrassment and made a complete twit of himself on TV on occasions. His move to Coventry gave him a broader experience, better knowledge of tactics and more awareness. There is no doubt he has an eye for a rider with ability and knows how to build teams, he built at least two potential title winning teams at Swindon before he switched to the Bees. Winning the title with Coventry firstly gave him more confidence and self belief. Returning to Bluunsdon and winning it again has made speedway people sit up and take notice of what he has to say. Thankfully nowadays he seems to engage brain in gear before he opens his mouth.
  3. I did consider that lewy. It did seem that a certain individual was creating havoc last year. Amazing how one person can contribute to ruining so many supporters enjoyment. Shame Barker isn't still with you, i bet he was mustard to watch at the SBA.
  4. The Plymouth thread has been unusually quiet this close season. Hoping to visit the SBA this year. Cracking little race track.
  5. They have similar dialect in Somerset Jacques....thought you would have picked it up living there?
  6. My first season was 72 Keef. The Briggs, Ashby, Keen Hitch, Munday, Broadbank side. I recall a second halfer called Clark Facey!
  7. The grass banks were pretty useful for me Keefers. Used to meet up with a girl from Chippenham every Saturday night. They came in handy then! Saturday night racing, the old 13 heat format, and the tactical ride after being six points down....the good old days! The back straight bogs remain exactly the same as they were in the 70's....I took a friend to a meeting last season and had a couple of beers whilst waiting for the match to start. He went off to use the infamous toilets and i warned him about their reputation. Minutes later he returned covered in mud!! I asked him what had happened and he said he had fallen down the grass bank next to the toilets.....how i laughed...Didn't put him off too much though..he is a new fan!
  8. 1. Martin Ashby 2. Geoff Bouchard 3. Jan Andersson 4. Bob Kilby 5. Leigh Adams 6. Norman Hunter 7. Clive Hitch Thats more of a favourite team...Norman Hunter at reserve could at least lift share with Geoff Bouchard, (like the old days!!)....Hitchy for his 'dive bombing' up the inside....(how often is that seen at Blunsdon nowadays) Kilby for his gating (even though he never moved at the start, he would be pulled back by the ref everytime these days...anticipation is punished) Not sure what happened to my font half way through!
  9. I for one hope Plymouth are able to build an attractive and competitive side next season that can challenge for silverware. The fan base you guys have in the west country is decent and you will certainly appreciate young Nick in your side. Fingers crossed!
  10. Nick Morris is rumoured to be signing for a premier league team in order to double up with Swindon next season. He woud i hear, prefer a southern team. Just wondering if you guys have heard anything in relation to the Devils team building plans?
  11. You should see the back straight toilets at Swindon...everyone is too scared to use them...people have been known to use them and then go missing and never seen again...count yourself lucky to have some which are user friendly!!
  12. Brilliant...bring 'em back. But i am sure Dudley fans want their name spelt 'HEATHENS'.....
