In Barker, Davies and Newman, Plymouth have signed a decent solid 'backbone' to their side. The young Dane should also kick on this year. This looks like a promising team to me.

And not making one start all season!!

Nick is popular because he is an out and out racer, never gives up, scores well home and away and has time for the fans too. He was box office at the OTA last year. Mind you, so was Alex Davies. Both will be a major loss in 2014.

Lahti would be a very decent signing in my opinion blu...he seemed to excel on the bigger tracks. Certainly scored heavily on the majority of his visits to Blunsdon.

Good gater? Didn't ever see him make a good start in his season at Swindon, although in the previous season when he won the PLRC at Blunsdon, he looked superb.

Morten has been on the downward slide since 2007 when Coventry discarded him. Surely Lanham is the better bet?

Good post Oldtimer. Fully understand your feelings. Not sure Rebels fans will see such an exciting bunch of riders as the title winning team again for some time. Releasing Morris, Newman and Davies, the heart beat of the team, for me, is a big mistake. All three were totally committed to Somerset and were instrumental in a brilliant team spirit. Not sure the trip to the OTA will be as attractive to me next season.

Agreed Coombers. He also passed riders for fun (mind you his gating was dire at times)

Bizarre to release Kyle Newman, Alex Davies Josh Gracionek and now Nick Morris. I simply don't get it.

I am sure Mr Fisher will be getting his fair share of 'boo's and 'hisses' at many PL tracks next year Hans fan....

Madmy trips to the OTA well worthwhile too. Great to watch was the kid.

Excellent crowd for Bech Jensen's debut against Glasgow too.

Thanks for reminding me ancient mariner, it was indeed Rebels v Monarchs.

Tough as teak is Cory. I remember him hitting the third bend fence back/neck first a couple of years ago, whilst trying to blast around the outside. Horrendous looking crash. Must admit I immediately thought the worst, but he was up and back in the pits preparing for his next race....which he duly won. Agree with others in that Gathercole puts absolutely everything into his speedway. I had high hopes he would develop into an EL heat leader whilst he was under the great Leigh Adams's wing at Swindon, but instead, he seemed to go backwards. That said, a guaranteed PL six and a half point man. Someone out there will snap him up I'm sure.

Fishing Shadders?

Can't understand people saying this Somerset team wnn't be up to it. The top 3 in Doyle, Morris and Allen is very strong. Supported by Wright, this team will be formidable at the OTA and more than a match for most clubs away from home. Whilst I wouldn't say they look like league winners, they are paly off material in my opinion. Lets face it, that's all supporters of any team want to hear and see at the start of the new season!

That won't happen Olovski. Doyley will be full time for the Robins.

Strange move by the management in my opinion. Davies is a fine prospect and has come on leaps and bounds in the past two seasons. His partnership with Nick Morris at the OTA especially, was very entertaining. Potential to add a point on his average next season I reckon. Got a feeling Plymouth may be lying in wait for what would be a terrific capture for them.
