  1. I like Adam but he is far too injury prone, and we need to keep injuries to a minimum next year (i know thats hard in this sport!). Also I expect that Steady will be back with us next season however i think Facu Albin will be the first name announced, he didnt always plough in with the points but his work rate and never say die attitude was fantastic. Cant say id be shocked either if Hugh came back after a season away. Just hope the rest of the team gets an overhaul. Olly Allen would be a neat addition and keeping Wells for his away track knowledge would be awesome too. Some may also disagree but I quite like Tyson Nelson too...
  2. Should we be running next season i suspect the first name to be announced would be Facundo Albin,
  3. Stead & Allen would be a very nice start to team building for next season if we are running. Would love to see Wells added to those two and then some hungry young talent to fill in the gaps, id keep Albin and wishful thinking would be someone like Robert Lambert or Lewis Kerr.
  4. IMO only three i would like to retain are Wells, Stead & Albin. The rest of the team need clearing out. Interesting to see comments about Mr Ben Wilson, on a low average he could be worth a punt, does anyone know if he wants to make a racing return ??, Lambert is OK at best, time to move on from him. Roynon is a great rider but i feel he is too cursed with injuries, and after the season we have had we need to steer clear of those as best we can ! . On the whole i believe Sheffield will be running next year, however i would like to see some fresh blood in the team, been there done that with skidmore, lambert etc... Would also be happy to see Nelson in the team next year and or Lawson/ Allen. Interesting times ahead methinks.
  5. I'll be heading down to this one, last fix of speedway at owlerton before the cold dark winter months head our way.
  6. Sheffield: Doolan Compton Wells Maassen R/R for Roynon Koppe Albin
  7. Wells to score some points, but as for the rest - probably not. I fear a good old fashioned drubbing could be on the cards for Sheffield.
  8. Wouldnt mind seeing Jonathan Itturre in a Sheffield race jacket next season...
  9. Robert Lambert is another rider I wouldn't mind seeing at Sheffield next season :-)
  10. Cant wait for the meeting tonight, in particular to see young Maassen having a go. He has Robbie Kessler in his corner so who better to advise him on the track and setups. I reckon it could take him a heat or two to get tuned in but ive got a good feeling about him and i reckon he could score well for us. Reminds me a bit of when we introduced Skidmore, nobody knew what to expect at all and he popped up with some great points. Cant wait,!
  11. YES!! hats off to this one, well chuffed with the signing of Danny Maassen, really happy with that, now thats the response i think us fans wantes wasnt it ? go Danny and the rest of the boys! A new signing could be the ignition to kick start this team now, so glad about this one.
  12. I remember a time when opposing teams used to fear coming to Owlerton, now they cant wait.Yes it was a close meeting and probably great for the neutral fan, but Sheffield have been panned so many times at home this season and its awful to see. From my view, looking at other teams we have lacked serious ambition. I see other teams covering their injuries swiftly and promptly by bringing new riders in, however with Sheff this isnt the case, for the last few months we have just been treading water and slinging any old lineup together. As a paying supporter for many years it just seems to be grating on me that im parting my hard earned money for myself and my daughter to see a team that is way off..
  13. Tyson Nelson rides Owlerton well so he could pull in good points for Scunthorpe tonight. For Sheffield Andre is improving, Ricky Wells is on fire and Facu can be a weapon at reserve. I think this could be a close one and may go in Sheffield's favour, but you never know ! Looking forward to it either way.
  14. I must admit i agree with the above posts, it seems like we always struggle with team building. The team is depleted, the fans are losing interested, and who knows if Sheffield will run next season? also heard speedway could be coming back to Odsal...
  15. Really feel for Adam, just as he gets going again then something like this happens. For a young lad he's spent his fare share of time in hospitals. All the best Adam. PrayforRicky
  16. sheffield spanked tonight, expected to be honest looking at the patched line up. Saw earlier that plymouth had signed Kalle katajisto, shame, would have loved it if Sheffield had made a move for him or at least signed someone!
  17. James Grieves can be a bit moody at Owlerton, Screeny likes Sheffield so i expect he will have a few points in him tonight. For Sheffield I think Andre will only get better, Im expecting a slightly higher score from him tonight, and I suspect Roynon will pick up where he left off - he's been a great addition for us, really like and rate him. Facu may still be a little sore so we may not see the best of him tonight, but thats understandable.
  18. I think Sheffield will edge this one, but i feel it will be a very close contest. Once rider who could be key for Glasgow.. and a rider who i rate highly - Joe Jacobs, not sure how he goes around Owlerton but the lad is a bit of a weapon at reserve.
  19. I think Lawson likes Sheffield, Sheffield Like Lawson and from what i've read the fans like Lawson, 2014 could be interesting :-) would love to see him in a Tigers race jacket on a permanent basis.
  20. Loving Rich Lawson, riding really great, confidence is up and he is beginning to nail the Owlerton track, A Tiger one day perhaps ? :-)
  21. Looking forward to this one, and also lookiing forward to seeing Andre back at Owlerton.
