They should have held a competition for locals to suggest nicknames, and then vote on a shortlist. An excellent marketing exercise. Otherwise, alongside the Cheetahs, they could have chosen another cat nickname, e.g. the Oxford Ocelots

Leicester Lions 2024
Roger Jacobs replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kemp has a 4 point average - he's benefitted from the 25% discount for moving out of the RS pool. There's pressure on him, but he seems to like the Leicester track. PS: It's definitely worth using the correct word, rather than a number when you're talking about numbers :-) -
I agree, but can't see how Hume would be left out given his popularity with the masses - he's an all round good guy, who's a guaranteed 100% trier - irrespective of his results. Nothing stops him from being liked, even his failures in the Final at Foxhall. PS: Barker wouldn't be a choice for me either.

Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg

Oh, that tired old argument - Yawn. It's what other riders do ... it's part of speedway. At least he can look back at the first leg and the points he threw away ... -

Not sure who you're watching? Hume was inside Jye Etheridge on Bend 2 and should have tried to move him over. -

No improvement from Hume this season, after ending 2022 on 4.09 - and he was rubbish in Heat 4 just now, could have moved Etheridge over on Bend 2, but just poodled around. -

At 27, he's definitely a slow burner. Just looks so awkward at Foxhall, and struggles to put together four consistent laps - thankfully he managed it once, against the hopeless Holder. -

It's worth pointing out to people using this "reason/logic/argument": A speedway track is the same for everyone at every single speedway meeting ... -

Lambert's average from 6 matches with KL is 9.60, but only two home matches so not enough to achieve a new Green Sheet (according to the Regulations), which is why he is shown as having an assessed average. Because the BSPL decided Lambert's 2019 average is an Established MA, I wondered why his scores this season haven't been added to his old figures to make a new Rolling Average. It turns out that the Regs say a Rolling Average is calculated on eligible matches from the last two seasons, so it begs another question: If Established MAs can only be based on eligible scores from the last two seasons, how did the BSPL decide that Lambert's 2019 average was an Established MA? They really do make it up as they go along, and definitely when it suits. -

It's for the odd occasions when a team also uses R/R, i.e. so the guest can only take an R/R ride if the original rider's average is eligible. -

The Guest rides under the average of the rider he is replacing. -

Heat 5 = Lambert's winning time. Quickest of the night, and one of the fastest EVER at Foxhall. New nickname: Toothless Lambert -

He doesn't have a much higher average. According to the BSPL, Lambert's Established MA is 7.81, and he hasn't ridden enough matches to gain a new average. The convoluted nonsense of that conclusion is, of course, hilarious. -

Hume is 27 and has never learned. He managed four fairly consistent laps for that vital 5-1 over the hopeless Holder (who blocked Edwards early on), but failed again in his final ride. He's an accident waiting to happen, and hopefully won't carry anyone with him if he has a big one. Lambert showed skill to avoid running into Doyle. He was never alongside, not even by a wheel, so Doyle didn't fence him. Doyle rode a wide line, and left no room - that's NOT fencing someone. Agree with the rest of your comments. -
