  1. Good job for Sheffield that they were allowed to make a third separate change
  2. Absolutely shocking that they have to rely on the play-offs to stage a profitable meeting.
  3. I have only just twigged that Issue 19 of the Green Sheets says: "01/10 and Final" (my emphasis). So, even if they are staged, the BSPA will not count the last two fixtures.
  4. The Liga 1 rates this season were £54k signing-on and £540 per point! Can't imagine what the Ekstraliga rates are ... A Polish guy on Speedway Friends Facebook group reckons this season that Zmarzlik has earned £800k, and Woffinden over £500k. Zmarzlik's deal for 2023 will be £1M.
  5. And, I'm guessing the Witches wanted Riss back in the line-up, in case they need him for 2023, and someone might argue that if he had been dropped from the 2022 line-up he couldn't return? PS: It also shows that the "long term" injury rule is definitely as ambiguous as it is written.
  6. Further ambiguity then, because Allen rode again for Scunthorpe - he was out for 6-8 weeks - standard absence for scaphoid, although depends on complexity of injury. ”Long term” needs to be specified …
  7. I try really hard the follow the Regulations, and regarding replacements they are particularly ambiguous and open to (mis)interpretation. I can see how BV were able to sign Lambert, but I still can't work out how Sheffield made three separate changes, even though the regs say maximum of two. PS: I don't think the regulations and squabbles are a significant part of speedway not being taken seriously - it's simply a very long way down the pecking order as a minority sport in a world where there are so very many different types of entertainment.
  8. The "deal" offered by the PZM was for the GB to give up all priorities ...
  9. Why shouldn't they be? Neither team raced on even half of the Thursdays in the calendar ...
  10. He had a bad fall last week - facial injuries and bruising - maybe he didn't feel like appearing on camera.
  11. Oops! Missed that (a search for "August" didn't find it!). Even so, there's no obvious reason why the statement in the transfer window paragraph about long-term injury can't be applied - especially when you add the second paragraph from 010.3.1: "The BSPA Directors monitor all proposed moves and have the sole responsibility to approve all re-declared teams, having been satisfied they are in the best interests of the sport." No doubt whatsoever that the two Regulations make it ambiguous and are open to (mis)interpretation. No change there then!
  12. There's no mention of August in the 2022 Regulations. It simply says: "A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of the League fixtures are complete and closes when 75% of League fixtures are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury."
  13. Don't forget, Sheffield v Ipswich is another match that won't happen - neither of these can go ahead simply because of the Green Sheet problem. Reducing to 10 matches was a ridiculous decision.
  14. Kylmakorpi was struggling after a knee injury (0 in his return) and Wolves signed Woffinden on his official Green Sheet. He rode 6 league matches before the play-offs. When they tried to do the same again (a year later?) just for the play-offs, they weren’t allowed.
  15. SCB Regulations: 013.6.1 Guest Rider ... f) no rider, whose team is in the play offs may appear as a guest in the play offs, in that league Hope that's good enough for you - you have obviously been relying on hearsay
  16. I still don't understand where misfortune contributed any significant difference to a comfortable home defeat? Edit: just saw your list of "reasons". Tungate fell under pressure, but I don't think Zagar was at fault (neither did Nicholls). King was awful, and failed completely twice on the third/fourth bend - that's not misfortune, that's poor riding. Summers *might* have done a bit better in Heat 8 - maybe the ref should have stopped the race and excluded Rowe - so no better than a 3-3. Heat 9 - no idea if the red lights came on or not - there didn't seem to be any protests. It was a strong performance by Belle Vue who learned quickly, and outfought, and outthought the Witches, winning heats 2 to 15 by a score of 29-49 ...
  17. From a 6 point lead to behind after Heat 8, and none of that was to do with bad luck.
