  1. Interesting that on Monday, Musielak said he liked the slick starts at Sheffield. Tonight, the starting gate at Foxhall couldn't have been more different - after 15 heats it was still damp and even felt "soft". Holder obviously psyched himself out - he looked ordinary. Howarth and Pickering were also poor, especially when you consider they are both very capable of riding smaller tracks. Pickering didn't even look like he could turn with confidence until his last ride.
  2. Credit to King, he's really raised his game - at the start of the season it's what he said he could do, but only showed it in randomly. However, for these two matches he's made a big difference.

  5. The fixed gates format has been used for several seasons. Didn't you notice that in Heats 5, 6, & 7 the Witches had gates 2&4?
  6. I think it's one Reg that is actually positive. It stops the use of guests, while encouraging teams to use riders from the available "pool" of Rising Stars, who will be keen to have the chance to continue their learning.
  7. To be fair, they don't make them up, they "interpret" them. Regs often seem to be written without any thought of the possible consequences. They need to be tested, or wargamed, before they are agreed.
  8. Sayfutdinov and Doyle have the two highest averages in the Prem by a distance, so neither can be used as guests.
  9. Live Updates will cover this from BSN - however, they don't give race times, which some fans find interesting, and are good for completeness of details. Does anyone fancy texting the times? If so, please visit live updates and message "oldcynic" - cheers!
  10. Not only is his average too high (by 0.06), a rider who has been taken out of a declared line-up can't return for 28 days.
  11. Live Updates has a volunteer! Busy night tonight with three meetings, including BSN coverage.
  12. Live Updates doesn't have a texter for this meeting as yet (21:30 on Sunday) - anyone prepared to volunteer? The minimum requirement is: Ref name, Gate choice, and race results (with times if you record them) - any comments are entirely optional. If you fancy giving it a go, please visit Live Updates and send a message to "oldcynic". Cheers! EDIT: WE HAVE A TEXTER FOR LIVE UPDATES
  13. The quote is from Hawkins. BTW, it's "when it affects you" Although you could say "when it has an effect on you"
  14. No matter whether he figured it out, Gollob told John Louis that he didn't like the Monmore track.
  15. Full of anticipation and excitement ... I could turn up for this too. I might annoy someone by standing in "their" spot.
  16. Highlighted wording is what I referred to. Of course, what I didn't think about was that CHolder's average is in excess of Ellis', so I guess that means the Sheffield redeclaration has to be below 39.00 - so that's why Vissing was chosen, and he's cheerfully on 4.00 (although I thought his most recent Prem average is 4.43?).
  17. The 39.00 limit only applies for initial team building. For subsequent changes, weaker teams can build up to 39.00, while re-declarations for stronger teams must be lower than their existing total.
  18. The point (sic) is that someone else had to be dumped with Ellis to enable the signing of CHolder.
  19. The point is that a rider of his supposed quality should only have the best equipment. No excuses.
  20. He was like that while in the KL team - clearly lacking any professionalism in his set up. Zero-hearted effort from someone who should be 100% on the case, 100% of the time.
  21. And he’s guesting for Peterborough tonight in place of himself because he’s cup tied
