Indeed - new averages on 1st June. I will argue forever that it's s stupid Reg to force the top average to be at #1 - it doesn't suit every rider, and also means that teams have to change their line-up for no particular reason, e.g. I'm sure BV would be happy to stick with Kurtz and 1 and Bewley at 5. Team Managers should at least have the choice to put the top average rider at #1 or #5.

BSN will be at Ipswich or Sheffield on Thursday, depending on which they think will be the best option for the second leg. -
King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25
Roger Jacobs replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If any rider pulls out, they have to be signed-off as unfit by the track medic to enable other rides to be taken - that's why Glasgow had to go with only three riders in Boughen's fourth programmed ride at Edinburgh. -

Boughen still having his own battles it seems - ran two lasts at Edinburgh, replaced in his third, and didnât appear for his fourth ⊠Glasgow couldnât replace him, so not injured ⊠-

I disagree. Whichever way they use R/R, thereâs still pressure on King, Brennan and Ellis - putting it at #2 covers the âprotectedâ heat, and - as Hawkins says - it works for the other riders. -

Resign? He and the BSPA/L must have known this was going to happen, so they are complicit in the poorly covered subterfuge ...

Thompson isn't a Rising Star, so they have got (admittedly limited) options for guests.

With Jepsen Jensen walking out on Brum, it's going to be an odd-looking match on Monday night ...

I don't think many people will make the effort and/or pay what's necessary to travel to Manchester on a Monday. Certainly from Ipswich it's not doable without an overnight stay. When I travelled with my son for the WTC a few years ago, we shared the driving, stayed overnight between the meetings and drove straight back after the Final - we were both knackered. Only the people who really, really, really want to attend will do so. PS: I haven't been able to watch it yet, because I'm in Belgium and the Discovery+ app refuses to work with the VPN that I use.

Not making excuses, but the area has been incredibly dry for weeks, and summer-time hot for several days - plus the dreaded wind that impacts the exposed Heath. There are photos of the track surface prior to the match on the Facebook page. As for delays after crashes, the Regs have always stated that the track cannot be touched before a restart or rerun - although I think thereâs a proviso that remedial work can be carried out of the track is deemed to be at fault for the incident.

Riders are no longer considered assets of clubs
Roger Jacobs replied to bigdave's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If they arenât assets, why would they sign multi-year contracts? In football, clubs still pay loan fees, and conditions can also also be applied. -
Castagna comes in on 4.74. I wonder if Brum were limited on the replacement of Zagar, i.e. they were only allowed 5.40 for guests? Either way, there ain't many Champ riders available ...

Yes, of course. But you can't say that he will be reserve for just one month. It depends (1) on the rides taken and points scored by all the Star riders in KL's 3 Prem matches up to and including 23rd May, and (2) the the rides and points scored in the corresponding 3 old matches removed from the respective Rolling Averages.
