Please don't use that tired old "put their lives on the line for our entertainment" trope. They do it because i) they enjoy it, b) they're good at it, and 3) most make a living from it. The point I was making is that they don't have to pay to watch what they are producing, supposedly in the name of entertainment - if entertainment was their primary concern, the racing should be better.

They don't pay or tune in to watch it ...

Basically a different circuit from the stupidly narrow, long straight track that was first built. You can see why Belle Vue fans are so much happier, given that Leicester originally had a lot of space and a blank canvas, but got it hopelessly wrong.

It was called early because the forecast was for poor weather, and the forecast was correct.

It's all about stirring up a bit of the rivalry. Some people take everything far too seriously. Ipswich fans definitely don't take Hawkins seriously! If you take a step back, I think most will agree that Louis and Chapman have been very positive for their commitment to keeping their respective team going in increasingly tougher circumstances.

Raining quite hard just a mile or so east of the stadium at 13:30, and the radar shows it will be like that for the next hour. All the longer range forecasts have proved correct. Irrespective of the rivalry and "banter" about call-offs, this is definitely looking like a good decision.

Air enough. It seems from what's been said elsewhere that Palovaara rides on Thursday nights in Sweden, so would have virtually no availability for Prem meetings (and, apparently, isn't looking for a Prem opportunity anyway).

If a rider has a valid average in both, then the higher one is used.

Palm Toft's Champ average is 7.80, so it's too high to replace Thompson (7.53 available with the 1.5 conversion). Palovaara still on an assessed average, so is ineligible. Worrall, Allen or the Kennedy's would fit.

The Regulation is fine, and clear. Touch the tapes and you're out. Bewley touched the tapes. Unless they remove the Reg, and allow movement at the start, then there's nothing else that can be done. Musielak received a warning for moving, but it wasn't his fault that's Bewley touch the tapes - it was Bewley's error, and he was excluded.

You'd expect the top 4 to take Kurtz's rides - it's difficult if one of those needs to be carried. Witches in a similar position at KL tonight - when it finally gets underway ...

Indeed - new averages on 1st June. I will argue forever that it's s stupid Reg to force the top average to be at #1 - it doesn't suit every rider, and also means that teams have to change their line-up for no particular reason, e.g. I'm sure BV would be happy to stick with Kurtz and 1 and Bewley at 5. Team Managers should at least have the choice to put the top average rider at #1 or #5.

No mention even of the match on the BV website - it's a glossy site, but is absolute rubbish.
