2022 championship predictionsSteveLyric2 replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway In the recent bcp Issues and Options consultation process to formulate a new Local Plan for 2024, the stadium site was part of the whole town centre map area that had been identified for 'potential housing development'. Everyone was given the opportunity to lodge their objections or comments on any aspect of the document - especially as the stadium wasn't actually mentioned by name. I understand several fans voiced their objections and a couple including me actually asked for clarification by the Council Leader in 2 of his live Q&A sessions, to which he was non-committal despite acknowledging the value in leisure and sporting terms and positive publicity that Speedway brings to the town. There is also the side complication of POOLE TOWN FC publicly wanting a new stadium which they say has Council support ( although I don't think the council would support the FC with only 400 or so attendance every fortnight in a very low league compared to the Pirates with 2000+ every week)! The next phase will be the publication of this revised Draft Local Plan which will be up for debate later this year prior to being adopted sometime in 2023.

2022 championship predictionsSteveLyric2 replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway As I've said before its always good to have a local legal firm as one of your main sponsors - as well as being a partner in the Chateau!!

....which neither the Poles, Swedes or Danes stick to!! There are already meetings taking place with the Poles about lifting their restrictions, which will continue this season. This is what Mark Lemon was hoping would happen sooner so that BV could have Dan Bewley back in!
-
That may be different now?! I know the pits have been moved to the back straight - not sure of other changes......
-
2022 championship predictionsSteveLyric2 replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Even if the Council have a developer ready and waiting with a Plan that would require approval, I cannot see anything happening until 2024 at the very earliest - and thats without any formal protests, objections and/or legal challenges!!

According to the latest Discovery announcement which is on Facebook, the SGP series will be live on both Discovery+ and Eurosport 2. British Premiership (when it starts) will be on Eurosport as in 2021.
-
2022 championship predictionsSteveLyric2 replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Ain't gonna happen any time soon unless its announced that a future season will definitely be Poole's last?! In which case Poole may be tempted back up for a final Premiership hurrah!! - assuming the Premiership is still in existence by then?
