  1. Surely most speedway stadia have an H&S maximum capacity?
  2. Pirates have an office in the stadium which presumably they pay an annual rent for? As with most clubs they would have had to shell out on signing on fees, lease vans, accommodation(?), insurances etc
  3. Theres a sort of update on the BSPL site.
  4. I thought FIM had confirmed SoN at BV on 24/25 October!!!? They could of course move it to somewhere like Rybnik where there has been no Covid-19 flare-ups!!? Oh but hang on.........................!!!
  5. I think its a bit unfair to criticise the new BSPL Management Board (Godfrey, Damian Bates, Debbie Hancock, Chris Louis and Stewart Dickson) who have updated their intentions/actions regularly on their website and in Speedway Star, including the political lobbying, subject to Govt permissions. All promotions have been praising their efforts and been kept in the loop with weekly 'Zoom' meetings. Not sure what else they could have done.
  6. At least there appears to be consistency from the various club statements concerning retaining the same 1-7s for 2021. Obviously there will be further discussion and deliberation at BSPL Board level and ultimately it will depend on rider availability. I wonder if the AGM will be brought forward from November? Or is it in a fixed month according to the sport's constitution? The usual explanation is to allow all clubs to finalise their season's financial balance sheet so they can declare their intentions to run (or not) the following year. Surely those decisions can be made much earlier this year?!
  7. ....And on Thursday its the rewind of 2018 Aces v Pirates fixture via the BV site.
  8. ...and ultimately the engine suppliers and tuners!!!
  9. Danny Ford has been speaking very positively about wanting to race whilst accepting there are 'hurdles to overcome'! But remember the stadium are not getting any rental from speedway either so it cuts both ways. (and I have a fair idea of what the rental is! Its not an insignificant amount!) Lets also not forget the Govt are putting pressure on companies to recall furloughed staff asap, many of whom would only be returning part-time. Poole Stadium is a Council-owned venue and only leased to Stadia-UK to provide the minimum of 2 sports on a regular basis. With local Councils being given more power to control events locally - who knows?!
  10. Newspapers today are saying more 'pilot' events are planned from August 1st for other sports subject to acceptable proposals from those sports governing bodies.
  11. What about the 'pilot' events from August 1st that Boris referred to? BSPL could surely propose a 'pilot' event under covid-secure guidelines at as many tracks willing to participate?! If the pilot events are successfully staged then subsequent fixtures could then be planned.
  12. Isnt Covid a risk when the dogs are running?
  13. Thought it was on Eurosport (nothing directly to do with Sky!!)?? In any case its rearranged for Thursday 23rd July - the day after the Rybnik round which is where the COVID-19 was discovered on someone in the pits area!!!
  14. I see the 'Crump effect' has led to the return of Steve Johnston and Shane Parker to competitive racing in Aussie!!!!
  15. Lets hope AFC Bournemouth have put their match at Man City well to bed by 1930 hours. Otherwise could be a clash of priorities for some.
  16. He was doing a Charity bike ride for kids with Cancer!!!
  17. I thought the French League had finished?
  18. Yes he went over the handlebars going downhill on his Charity Cycle ride for Child Cancer!! Fractured wrist plus cuts and bruises. get well soon Adam.
  19. BSP Ltd statement on www.speedwaygb.co.uk
  20. Wolves will not run unless they get the go-ahead next week to start in August. Season tickets will be held over to 2021 as much money has been spent on a number of regular costs and track improvements with no admission income.
  21. So CVS has stated that unless there is a positive go-ahead next week to start in August 2020 then Wolves will not run until 2021. Without any admissions income there has still been much expenditure so Season tickets will be held over to 2021 when holders will also receive a free 2021 commemorative calendar!!
