Poole Pirates 2021
Steve Shovlar replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
McCaffrey had a go at me a couple of season ago for daring to say I had a HD Polish feed of an Extraleague meeting when he couldn’t get it. Found him to be a very strange person and steered well clear. I just ignored him to be honest. Clearly knowledgeable but very strange behaviour. Couldn’t post on the international thread without him coming on with some kind of abuse. He certainly doesn’t like Poole or many, if any Poole fans. His latest outbursts on Stewkesbury and how Poole are going to wreck the championship is frankly hysterical ranting. I wonder if he has some type of issue and we should take this into account? -

If Gavan doesn’t have the intellect to understand my post, then he really has proved himself to be a complete And utter numpty. -
Yes us normally laughing at you, not with you.

I won’t get into long discussions as I am with a group of friends in Italy and we’re about to go out to dinner. But what is most important is the home team fielding the same 1 to 7 every week. Less so the away team. Poole won’t be in the top flight next season, more’s the shame. I am not looking forward to next season and believe the crowds at Poole will be considerably down because of it. A second string as a number one will not be a crowd puller. -

It’s quite simple. Ride on the night of your choice. Pick a team of riders who won’t be affected by this race night. If opposition teams are affected then so be it. -
So how much have Eurosport paid?

Where? I know it’s just under 40,000

Well it’s been fun tonight. For me anyway. Well done to Swindon. It was their year and to be honest if they hadn’t won the title it would have been a surprise. Congratulations. I’m off to bed. Flight to Venice in the morning and then onto the Italian Alps for some flying for a few days, weather permitting. Enjoy your championship. Shame we can’t challenge it back next season but it looks like we’ll be visiting different clubs in 2020.

All over. Well done to Swindon. All very easy as expected. The worse playoff final on record, and by a margin, but certainly not Swindon’s fault, who have been favourites since mid season. Glad they got a big crowd. That’s what the playoffs do. Bring in the fans. If that sized crowd could be a weekly turnout the sport would be in good shape. Lets all hope we don’t get another final like that again though.

Swindon got lucky. Don’t know why their fans haven’t admitted it. If it hadn’t rained at 7 pm in the first leg of the semi at WR, we would have demolished Ipswich by at least 20, meaning it would have been us in the final. Then Matt would have made a few more bumps and Doyle would have struggled along with the other gating tarts. Poole winning 58-32 and cruising it tonight. I know it. Rosco knows it. Would have been title number 9.
