  1. Seen a fair bit of him. A reserve in the U.K. and rightly so. Does a little better in Poland where you have to crank the throttle wide open. Have yet to see anything to change my but to give the lad a chance I am willing to change my opinion. Had one good meeting when he came in to replace Kurtz, butas faded since. A mediocre Aussie rider, nothing to see here, move on.
  2. Lindsey is an average Aussie. I don’t see him being anything other than a grating tart ala Fricke.
  3. Tungate having a good season. Great race! Yes as a Poole fan, I age watchedKurtz enough to know he is a Schlein, not a Holder. Goes AWOL when it matters and isn’t mentally strong. Having a mare season well below his standard Though. His confidence has taken a pounding. Lindsey is no better than Kurtz.
  4. Another poorish meeting from Torun. A couple of decent races. CH not happy with Musielak in his first when he Pole left him no room. Kildemand a real spent force.
  5. I must have a short memory. Please explain how Matt Ford was trying to put Coventry and Peterborough out of business, “without a care in the world”.
  6. Can you think of any other sport where a player is rag dolled and back out 5 minutes later? A footballer would be out for 6-8 weeks.
  7. Nasty crash. Hope Pepe is OK. Holta lifted and rightly excluded.
  8. Lindgren quietly going about his business but by god I find him boring.
  9. Doyle has gone the same way as Milik. Down. Had a good few seasons but time has caught up. No longer a rider to fear. The old guard on their way out and being replaced by younger, fearless riders.
  10. Not a fan of Jack Holder. CH different gravy still got it. Batchelor should tell the Rybnik manager he is a wker and tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine. Milik is clearly off form yet gets all his rides? Yet Batchelor battled with NP and gets taken out? The manager needs sacking.
  11. Rybnik manager is a twit. Bachelor not being used Is a joke.
  12. Torun in a division lower, have a stronger team than Rybnik.
  13. Nicki Pedersen is showing good form. I thought his light was fading but he has put new batteries in and his form overall is very good. Another Greg Hancock he is as tough as old boots and doesn’t take prisoners. I, like many, have never been a fan but recently have mellowed to the guy. He seems also to be less “Everybody hates me but I don’t care”, to a more likeable charactor. Perhaps because at his age he has realised he won’t be world champion again.
  14. That was in about 2002 and banter! Most took it as the joke it was and at the time and there was no real threat at the time. Like any speedway fan I didn’t want to see Coventry close. I mean, it was normally very easy points for us. And I hope we shall hear good news soon that they will return to action.

  16. Really? I don’t recall a single Poole fan or fan of any club happy with Coventry closing down. No speedway fan wants to see a club fold, regardless of being arch rivals or not.
  17. Well it didn’t improve. Sending out two kids in heat 14 summed it up.
  18. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz! What, seriously, is the point? Ostravia are are not exactly a weak team, but having such a powerful team As Torun in the second division means there is no real competition and it renders the league a farce. The reason a points limit is so important to give a levelish playing field. This is not entertainment and as a sport it’s seriously a joke.
  19. Poole Speedway owner Matt Ford is urging for "calm and patience" amidst the on-going speculation with regard to activities at the club's base, Wimborne Road. On Wednesday, the speedway's landlords, Poole Stadium Ltd, part of Gaming International announced that they were entering a consultation period with their staff that could result in redundancy adding "whilst no definitive decision has been taken on the future of the business, given all the circumstances that we face with Greyhound Racing in Poole, it is appropriate to commence this process of consultation now." In respect to speedway operations at the venue Ford has admitted "at this moment in time we haven't had any contact from our Landlords to tell us about any changes in the plans for Poole Speedway to be running although we are of course aware that many of our friends that are associated with the Greyhound racing operation and whom we work with at the stadium, are facing difficult times and our thoughts are with them as they receive this heartbreaking news." "As far as Poole Speedway is concerned I would ask people not to read too much into this , we are at the beginning of August and don't plan to open until the end of March, although we have voiced a thought that if possible we might look to run something in January and possibly February. I did try to contact George Edwards of Poole Stadium Ltd about 10 to 14 days ago to explore that but unfortunately he couldn't take my call at the time and we are not reading anything in to that other than the fact that he and his team would have been very busy at that point in dealing with their business issues. Also, with the current situation regarding stadia occupancy in the UK due to the Covid-19 restrictions there was probably little they could do anyway as the stadium needs to remain closed to public attendance." "That said, we have every intention of running in 2021. The stadium was left to the people of Poole to remain a sporting venue and we have the team's premium sport which is as important to Poole as AFC Bournemouth is to Bournemouth and so we expect to be coming to the tapes next year just as we would have this year had it not been for the pandemic virus. We will be working with the landlords and if necessary, BCP council over the coming weeks and months to ensure that one of the biggest worldwide brands in speedway - the Poole Pirates - will continue to flourish in 2021 and beyond. So I would just urge everyone to avoid rumour mongering, stay calm and we will be back with more news on the longevity of the club as and when we have it." https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/2020-08-06-ford-pleads-for-fans-to-stay-calm-amidst-stadium-speculation
  20. I should imagine if Gaming International are closing their greyhound operation at Poole, then they could well be in breach of their leasehold with the council, which could then be forfeited, revertInginto council hands to be re-offered to another leasee. As Matt Ford said on Radio Solent, speedway will not be affected and will be running next season. Might not be greasy burgers available from the outlet in the back straight stand though!
