  1. It has now been decided to move the inside line out a few feet as the bend is very spongy and could cause a rider to straighten and hit others.
  2. Lots of head shaking and riders laughing at track. Both sides don’t look over impressed. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
  3. Oh dear....Swindon riders concerned over track. Ellis falls in practice....Batchelor declines to ride it. https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/speedway/17582173.swindon-robins-set-to-cut-the-ribbon-on-their-new-track-against-poole-pirates-tonight-despite-riders-concern/?ref=rss
  4. Poole is a morning meeting. Redcar evening. He can do both. 5 hours 20 mins to Redcar. Has time to spare and could stop for a quick break en route.
  5. He didn’t turn left. Wilson Dean seemed determined to go up the inside when Jakobsen was already there. Showed good ability by Jakobsen to not yield. Peterboroughs a great race track but when your promotion limit it to one line this is what happens.
  6. Track was a bit from the gate last night. Outside wasn’t working hence Andersen cutting under in a couple and Wilson Dean coming a cropper trying to smash Jakobsen out of the way on bend four, twice in the same heat, and coming a cropper.
  7. Bloody roadworks and closed motorways meant I didn’t get back till the early hours. A decent crowd, though little atmosphere. Seems Peterborough fans on the whole just sit there and clap politely after every heat, regardless of the score. Need someone there to whip up the crowd. Racing wise, the track was grippy and fast. Brady broke the track record in heat 4. Passing was at a premium and although the riders were close together, it came down to a gating competition. 1 and 3 a big advantage all night with only Klindt managing a win off gate 4. Heat 14 was always going to be an issue. Gate 1 was good but we had Worrall on it and as predicted he didn’t get off the start, which in the end cost us. Well done to Panthers.
  8. Agree the first division has very poor reserves. Young throttle jockeys with big balls and little skill.
  9. Well his form today at home was 0, 1+1, 0,0,0. Similar to Monday at Poole.
  10. Lesno have such an advantage with two extremely strong juniors. In a way it is detriment to the league. Some teams reserves stand no chance against Kubera and Smektala, who are capable of winning heats with opposition heat leaders. Smektala beating C Holder just then proves the point why Leszno are so strong. Perhaps Kubera and Smektala should be separated with one going to a club who have two no hopers? Just a thought. I have no affinity to any Polish team.
  11. He is riding for Toruń. Ran a last in his first race. And a paid second in his second.
  12. Looking forward to coming up for this. First meeting on the new track, though I am sure the Swindon riders will have spent plenty of time on it before the meeting. Hope it rides a lot better than the old track. Downside for us is the riders won’t have a clue on the racing lines or even the feel of the track. Hope the weather is set fair with a big crowd.
  13. So I called it smack on at heat 10. The writing was on the wall that early. As Lynn struggled at hom in their first meeting, so did Pirates tonight. But a pretty awful meeting in all honesty. The first thing was just before parade Tony Steele said a section of air fence needed replacing as it had a small hole and was not fully inflated. I noticed this yesterday at P&P. Why leave it until tapes up to do something about it? On a cold night the start was delayed until 8 pm due to this. Amateur hour. Then the scoreboard malfunctioned. Amateur hour two. Poor. The racing was poor. Mostly gate and go bar two heats. One where Proctor got on it and passed mobile chicane Holder and then Josh G. And in another with Poole on a 5-1 and Palm Toft snuck up the inside of Klindt, who was going to slow. The other heats were mostly from the gate. In heat 13 Kurtz knew he had to make the start but touched the tapes. In heat 15 he knew he had to make the start but Riss slammed the door and that was that. A deserved win for Lynn. Luckily it was won in the first leg.
  14. Andersen looks a very decent and tidy rider. Can’t see what Lynn fans are moaning about they have been well up for it tonight. Proctor just rode last to first passing Josh and Holder with ease. Lynn could steal a win tonight to be honest. No good Holder riding like a plank at the back shaking his head.
  15. Might be uninspiring to KL fans, but Poole fans will be looking forward to their first meeting of the season and the first trophy for the 2019 cabinet.
  16. Weather is set fair for tomorrow. Both teams full strengths. Kings Lynn need to make up a ten point deficit from the first leg. Can they do it? Poole have their first meeting of the season and Holder, Busk-Jackobsen and Covatti need time to settle into their new track. Pirates could be vulnerable if Lynn fire on all cylinders. Will it happen? Will it hell. Poole easy winners.
  17. Heard this evening that Panthers asked KK to take the spot but their “offer” was politely refused......twice. They also asked Woryna and got the same response.
  18. Here’s a few minutes footage I took this evening of the riders having a practise session.
  19. No, a bit further north this time. Off to Italian Alps in mid May, then French Alps for a couple of weeks in June. Lovely.
  20. Woffinden said last year he does Sweden as it’s a bit of fun with no pressure compared to Poland. It shows in the racing which is not intense.
