  1. Never the same on a rerun. Ipswich completely thrown this away with falls. The ref has been poor but Leicester were there for the taking.
  2. Stating the bleeding obvious That fall could cost Ipswich big time.
  3. I share your fears. We can’t win anything if three of our team continue to perform as they are. Tobias has completely lost it since his injuries. Looks poor. Hagon the same. One decent ride last night but tailed off in his others. Vinnie can be forgiven but is a trier and just back. Against Oxford they will be found wanting. Masters and Nicholls are capable of beating our top boys.
  4. Decent lead and enough imo. Workington battled but Pirates top end too strong. Would have been 16 but for Zach trying to get past in heat 14. Onto Workington Saturday. Didn’t Pickering ride there last Saturday so is not available?
  5. The way Hagen is riding I won’t hold out any hope of points there. Chalk and cheese to earlier this season. Bereft of any form whatsoever. Like to be proven wrong but he gates poorly, then goes out wide on bend one/two so that he’s 20 metres behind going down the back straight. Doesn’t seem to want to mix it.
  6. Boughen did the same at Poole a few meetings back. Once he got out wide no one, including Lawson, could get near him. Need to block his run out wide early, which is easier said than done. Straight to fence on bend two and he won’t be able to generate the speed he gets. Certainly Oxfords trump card heading into the playoffs and KO Cup.
  7. Just caught up with the meeting. Heats 13 and 15 really great racing with Bomber and Masters. Boughen again looking good. Def one for the top. Poland will no doubt be calling for next season. But got to block him going right out to the fence to nullify him a bit. As soon as he is out there he’s a rocket ship and not to be caught.
  8. Good meeting and a 12 point lead but not enough to stop Lublin getting through to the final IMO. Torun a rider short of a good team. They rode very well though and deserved the win.
  9. Good win tonight for patched up Pirates. So it’s looking like a Poole V Oxford playoff final and KO Cup final. At least not far to travel. Trouble for us Pirates is the form of Boughen who could seriously help win both for the Cheeters. Still, there’s been some enjoyable racing this season and we deserve to be there.
  10. Zack Cook and Lawson is nailed on imo. Ben Cook and Tom Brennan top flight, Poland and Sweden, so gone. Would consider Vinnie Ford. Would like Anders Rowe and Dan Thompson. Plus a new Continental rider.
  11. Pleased a good crowd turned out for Richard Lawson testimonial. Decent racing but the ref made it drag. There is a two minute button ref.
  12. Bought my ticket on the Poole website. Hopefully a decent turnout but never a fan of two made up teams. Never any tension this way. Still I shall be there to support a rider who has done well for Poole.
  13. I said to Rob, watch Barker at some time tonight he will have some type of crash/fall. He never disappoints. We made hard work of that. Ben Cook backing off the throttle on bend 3 in both his last rides, not wanting to know. His brother did the opposite. Sam really struggling both guest reserves doing a good job. Lawson brilliant, Brennan good. Special mention to Dan Thompson who really was excellent. He has really improved this season and was impressive.
  14. Watched live at the time and called it for Nicholls to be excluded. A desperate move and to be fair one which he had to make. And it didn’t pay off. Watched it back this morning and my thoughts are the same. Nicholls had to attempt to make a move as the pairs title was at stake. Do or die, win or bust. It was the latter. Nicholls petulance afterwards shouldn’t have been aimed at Wright. It did show he cared about winning and was probably furious about the decision but needed to wind his neck in. Always liked Scott. Proper speedway rider who has lasted longer in the sport than many and can still mix it at the top end (of the Championship)
  15. I didn’t attend Cardiff and that would have been unthinkable normally. It clashed with the football season and I was at Forest v Bournemouth. A shame as I would definitely have attended if there wasn’t a clash with the Premier season. Just caught up with it this morning. Not difficult to avoid the result. If they want more there, choose the date better!
  16. And that was a terrible call as Fricke locked up causing Ellis to lay it down.
  17. It’s a forum and people have different opinions. If Wright had been excluded it would have been very unfair as it wasn’t a fair pass from Nicholls. He was desperate and basically threw the bike in front of Wright, but not fully in control. Others will have a different opinion.
