  1. Just got back and have to say we deserved nothing out of that. Beaten consistently out of the gate on a track where passing was difficult at best with many heats spaced well out. I said before the meeting that Swindon fans were putting their team down and they could win this and so it proved. Gate 4 a massive advantage the first half of the meeting and we win the toss and chose 1 and 3, meaning we had four heats on the bounce mid meeting with the useless 1 and 3. Couldn't live with Swindons gating and were then just chasing shadows. A very poor performance but it happens so time to put it behind us and move on to Wednesday and the visit of Leicester.
  2. Dreadful from the gate turd of a meeting. Swindon owning us out of the gate. No chance of Holder passing.
  3. I agree its terrible entertainment. Gate four so far this meeting has a huge advantage. Put your money on Sedgmen in heat 9.
  4. So whats the crowd at Monmore like Steve? Or haven't you bothered again?
  5. He's never had his side of the argument. Its just blinkered anti Poole drivel with the occassional post thrown in where he doesn't mention me.
  6. Watch it you will be told off by Gavan for starting a meaningless thread. Lol! Hope the bike is found.
  7. Very grey over the stadium. Rain is between Bristol and Swindon. Hope it doesnt brew up very much.
  8. It makes no difference whether he rides for TeamGB or not. At this moment in time we won't win it. Woffinden just doesn't help himself. He comes across very poorly and thinks there's an I in team. Certainly didn't like being told a few home truths at the SWC where he threw his toys out of the pram. You say why should he continue riding his arse off when the others are so far behind? It's called being a team member. Does Chris Froome think this with the rest of TeamSky? A ridiculous statement for you to make. He was taken down a peg or three for wearing that suit at the SWC when the rest of the team were in official TeamGB gear. There may be no I in team but there is 'me' I guess. Woffinden is head snd shoulders above other British riders but there us no way he should be able to demand anything. Perhaps his ideas are not good ideas, or they are cost prohibitive. His demand for £9000 in expenses for the SWC were far too excessive for the BSPA anyway. We currently have a British world champion for the next few weeks but British Speedway has not anything out of it. His failure to want to ride in the league that taught him his trade is bad enough. To come back and use it when the Swedish League has ended is selfish in the extreme. A real shame as he has done excellent charity work but is probably the least popular British speedway world champion ever.
  9. So Gavan has had some bad news in the family. Never a nice thing to happen I can relate to that. But does it excuse him from making himself an absolute pillock on this thread?
  10. Yep. I would take that under performing any day of the week. Think this will be a tight one. All this nonsense of a ten point Poole win is just that. With a dry day the track should be good. And with both teams at full strength it should be a good honest meeting. Got a fair journey to get there. Travelling up from near Eastbourne later this afternoon.
  11. A ten point win? In my dreams. More like a 4 point defeat. Not sure what Swindon fans are so down on their team. Doyle is in the form of his life. If Sedgmen gates he is gone. Morris has woken up and smashed in some big scores. Tungate is having his best ever season and Josh G always raises his game. With Wright back Swindon have decent reserves. They are far from pushovers. 4 points either way. With Doyle in heats 13 and 15 Poole need a decent lead by the end of heat 12. Should make an exciting Sky meeting.
  12. Its called team riding. Slowing up to let your team mate take the win is not breaking the rules. Its called Tactics.
  13. I see what Bjarne was doing then last home meeting and at Kings Lynn in heat 15. We wondered why he was slowing allowing his team mate through on the line. Good thinking again from the Poole management. And I have said on numerous occassions this season, Ellis is going to be a top rider if he continues to improve as he has this season. Done a great job at second string.
  14. Newman stays there. Bjarne moves up into the team with Kurtz replacing him next change.
  15. First I have heard of Poole turning down any dates to go to Belle Vue, unless of course it was a Friday before a GP and we would have been without Holder. Really looking forward to next Monday, weather permitting, though with a ridiculous start time for Poole fans and especially riders, who have to be up and away even earlier, it's going to be one hell of a long day. And hopefully 8 big fat juicy points.
  16. Starting to look a lot better for the British riders coming through. As long as we can keep them grounded we will see some very good talent coming through. We need training tracks where youngsters can blast around for as many hours as they like on any day they like. A track built in a large barn so no noise issues would help no end.
  17. Agree. If Teams can't run their home meetings against Poole we should get the 75-0. Our club had June off and have only three home meetings left to run, two after Wednesday against Leicester. In fact Matt Ford has resurrected the Blue Riband to fill empty dates. No excuse for these clubs who fail to fit in the Poole meetings.
  18. What sour grapes? We lost that happens. Harris didn't have any bike problems. Lindgren rode his nuts off to go around Harris and get Poole the points only to get a puncture on the last bend to allow Harris through. If Harris had bike problems he would have not been a bike length behind Lindgren. Nah. This time its a bike problem lol!
  19. I guess Leicester thought they could get a bigger crowd on Bank Holiday Monday, considering Leicester have just finished playing against Arsenal and fans who support both may be heading for the pubs.
  20. One of those defeats was unfortunate as guest Lindgren got a puncture on the last bend to allow Harris through to give Coventry a one point win.
  21. Just seen a preview of what is coming up in September on BT Sports and they advertised Germany V Sweden speedway meetings. Edit. Ok seen it again and its the GP's but they have designed the background with a v in the middle. Just bad designing from BT.
  22. Pedersens 'bird' looks like she is ready to party, not hang around in the pits.
