Buut he is the manager, and everyone could have told him it was a mistake. I take no joy out of watching GB struggle, but it was obvious that Kennett and Woffinden would do a better job than Stead and Allen.

There's little to no motivation in TeamGB, or the England football team for that matter. Different story for the other countries though. This is a British disease.

Totally correct Shazzy. Middlo is a motivator who got more out of TeamGB than was in the tank. Now Jim Lynch is finding out just how tough it is. At the moment we won't even be riding on Thursday! Hone, Vega, and a load of others called for Middlo's head. Truth is he was our 6th rider and the reason we papered over the cracks for so long, which are now clearly evident.

Lynch should never, ever have picked Stead. Rubbish, rubbish effort. Kennett should have been in, anyone could have told him that.

Looks like a small crowd to me. That could be because team GB is more or less only Coventry riders, and Cov fans have vanished this season. Oh dear should have been at Poole or somewhere else other than Coventry.

Thought it was an entertaining meeting tonight leading all the way to the race off. Started very slowly but there were some very good heats.

Agree completely. Why have no hopers tead and Allen? Makes no sense. get in Eddie and Tai and if we fail to qualify at least we have blooded two talents. With all the good will in the world Allen is not good enough. And on current for neither is Stead. BRING BACK MIDDLO.

A shame though he didn't come up against his main rival on Saturday, Bjarne, who had already seen off Crump with relative ease when they met in the heats. Chances are if the ref hadn't intervened we would be celebrating Bjarne's first GP win of the season. Bjarne was leading his semi final and would have had pick of the gates in the final.

The defending world champion also believes Bjarne Pedersen should not have been excluded from their controversial semi-final. Nicki felt all four riders back for first bend bunching would have been the right decision and he would have had no argument with that. But he also pointed out it was not his decision to exclude Bjarne, or Leigh Adams in heat 17, so the British supporters inside the Millennium Stadium should not have taken their frustration out on him by booing the wrong man. Nicki, who has a 10-point overall lead on British GP winner Jason Crump, said: "I felt very disappointed because of the way the British crowd booed me. "It doesn't affect me when I'm riding, but it just makes me feel even more fed up with British speedway." Pedersen, not riding in the Elite League this year after being dumped by Eastbourne and failing to find another track, added: "I think the fans' booing was disgraceful. "It if was me I would have had all four back in those incidents, but it's the ref's decision. "I'm very disappointed about the British fans and it makes me wonder whether I really want to ride in this country again. "It also makes me even more determined in my fight to win the World Championship this year." Pedersen, shown on Sky's live coverage screened inside the stadium clearly laughing about his semi-final reprieve while he was in the pits, continued: "The British fans are too focused on Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls. "I think the FIM (speedway's world governing body) should take a seriously look at that ref and his future in the GP." What a crock of cr@p. Adams and B Pedersen did absolutely nothing wrong. They were both victim of a ref who wanted to go down in the hall of fame as the most inept referee ever to grace the GP stage.

I thought the music a mixed bag. Thought it was very cheesy at times. The usual Brit themes like Land of hope and glory were OK but I didn't like Copenhagen and Wizard of Aus etc. More thought required here. Just pump up the British boys and to hell with the rest? Just have rousing British classical music. Adds a touch of class. Didn't like that England football song at all with Motson sampled. The less said about the w@nker song the better.
