Just caught up with this thread and must say I am shocked...that Kasprzak hasn't been given one of the remaining wildcards. a better rider than both Zagar and Iversen, so why did they get picked before the U21 world champion? Zagar is at best a second string and will be the Chzranowski of 2006. he will do OK around his own track but struggle at all other places. Iversen is a good rider but certainly not world class and hasn't done anything in 2005 to warrant being picked over Hans Andersen and KK. Yes the BSI needs fresh faces in the GP series otherwise it will go stale, but Pepe has had his chance and KK should have got the nod over him. Pepe has not done it at this level. Replace Zagar, Pepe and Iversen with Kasprzak, Andersen and Lindgren and it would just about right.

What? Are you cycling to Poole Shortoi? Poole to Swindon is 90 minutes in the car. So if you live 20 minutes north of Swindon is, say Cirencester, it would only take 2 hours!

People don't go to a place for the hotels. They stay in them and explore the local ammenities. Coventry is NOT a holiday destination. Poole and Bournemouth are. This has been discussed before, but 7 miles of award winning Blue Flag beaches for starters, versus a bit of park. 1-0 Poole. August is the peak season. Plemty of scantily dressed babes to oggle in their bikinis from Bournmouth Pier. Coventry has its cathederal and some Mrs Mangle types. 2-0 Poole Hundreds of stacked out watering holes and clubs, all stuffed full with sun tanned babes, or a burger and onion rings at TGI Friday? 3-0 Poole. Need I go on? And that's before I get to comparing the tracks, which would make it 4-0 Poole, and the fans, 5-0. BSI want people to have fun. They would get it in Poole and Bournemouth, I doubt it would be the same in Coventry. And yes I know the place quite well. I have an uncle and aunt, with 5 cousins, who live a mile from Brandon. Been out in Coventry and its not a bad place, but it just doesn't compare for tourists. Sorry but that's the truth of the matter.

But is not a holiday town. Who wants to go to Coventry for a week? I just about manage a few hours and that's enough! BSI want a holiday town, not an industrial city which offers nothing for the tourist. They would never, ever chose such a place over Poole. Award winning beaches, a vibrant night scene and a great race track. Granted Poole doesn't hold as many fans, but a packed out 7,000 capacity is better than 7,000 rattling around in a half empty Brandon. There is an atmosphere at Poole which is not found at any other club.

I heard all rounds are to take place in Poole. BSI want a repeat of two years ago and rather than go to two different tracks, will base the whole show in the UK's premier speedway town.

Subedei you are being over harsh on Kasprzak. He was joint leader when proceedings came to a halt. If he was clear leader would you be saying the same? The chances are he would have seen off Suchanel when they met. Not definately but most likely. From what I have heard he looked the best rider on show and so regardless of the rules, the right rider won it.

A good post BobC and thanks to SCB for posting the rule book. In the past we have seen riders grouping together to force the issue on dangerous conditions (Swedish GP). Perhaps being young they didn't have the nerve, or ability to get themselves organised in a way to bring proceedings to a halt. certainly looking at the pictures the meeting should never have gone ahead. Lindback went and spoke to the ref, buut his words fell on deaf ears. Perhaps is he had been backed up for 10 other riders, he would have had more luck. I should imagine Antonio is absolutely gutted this morning at missing out. Same goes for Hlib and Lindgren, who were also in the mix. but it's not like KK wasn't winning the meeting. A shame he wasn't clear at the top as well, because then there would be less of an argument on here about the validity of winning. If balloting was used, its the worst way to win it, even if you were best on the day. Commiserations to Suchanek, who showed yesterday he has more skill and ability than Poole fans saw this year.

Shocking conditions by the look of those photos. Suprise Tony Steele pushed it through, though his hands must have been tied by all those FIM officials present?

Absolutely true BobC and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

As far as I am concerned When Mark loram and TRick won the world title they did it for themselves, their country and their clubs. Same goes for KK. And I bet we will have the limo out on Wednesday night at Wimborne Road to welcome home our new world Champion! Well done KK. Fully deserved.

Hey Cat, stop chewing on those sour grapes. Lindgren blew it in his first ride, as did Lindback, who we could also say was robbed, because he could have won his last two and easily made the final. He didn't, Lindback didn't and the rest, they say, is history!

He went about winning it the same as most of the field, With grit, determination and the will to win. He was top of the pile after three so gets the nod if Suchanek doesn't want to go out again. Like Rabbit said, what is he meant to do? He was best rider on show today and has rightly been crowned World Under 21 World Champion. Once the meeting has started it would never be re-ridden. What would have happened if someone had four wins and was 3 points clear of the field when it was stopped? Rerun the following day and he gets knocked off and fails to make the final. If that was your rider would you have been happy? The right decision was made, the winner was KK and the result stands. Engraved on the trophy is the worthy winner.

How about some congratulations to the winner, you know, the guy that was leading? Or are you all choking on those sour grapes?

Well done KK!!!!!! suchanek refused the runoff. His decision. 1-2 for Poole !! Something for us Poole fans to cheer about after a sorry few weeks!

I also agree about Loram. When he was beaten in Norway by some 40+ unknown that was the final nail in his coffin at world level. Looked dis interested as well, and rode like he wanted to be elsewhere. Stead is nowhere near ready, and won't get a sniff other than the chance of wild card at the British GP. Nicholls and Richardsson are better riders and will get the nod before Stead. I also don't reckon Karlsson will get in either. He is too old, and whether he is on form or not, BSI will go for up and coming younger riders. Should be interesting when the lineup is announced. But no suprises.

Rickardsson, Mauger, Fundin, they are all greatest of the great. just because Rickardsson rides in this generation doesn't make him a lesser rider than Mauger or Fundin. In 20 years time when a new rider comes to dominate the same way, we will all be comparing again. I was too young to watch Fundin. I certainly saw Mauger in his prime, and the guy was pretty awesome. But it must be remembered that in those days moving at the tapes was permitted, and also in league racing heat leaders had the choice of what gate they wanted to take, hence we had a dozen or so riders with 10+ averages. If TRick makes it a seventh world title in 2006, and lets be honest there is no reason why he can't do it, unless a injury stops him, will you then admit the guy is best rider ever to ride a speedway bike?

Well that was a stroll in the park for the world's best ever speedway rider. No one got a sniff from the guy tonight. Class personified and a doddle for the champ!

A fantastic performance this year from the worlds greatest ever speedway rider. Can't see anyone touching him next year if he stays clear of injury to make it a record breaker rather than record equalling. Well done TRICK!

Looking at that last ride from TRicj he is just going through the motions. NO need to take any risks and just let someone else have a chance of winning a GP. As for Antonio, it looks like he is uncertain what line to take. Inexperience showing through tonight.

KING TONY RICKARDSSON!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not biting at Peasleys remarks. Tony knew, as did just about everyone else, that Poland were not going to be beaten on their own doorstep and saved himself from risk of injury. Next season will see him clear as a seven times winner, proving beyond all reasonable doubt that he is the greatest speedway rider of all time. Don't like him? Well give it a couple more years and his time will have passed. Unfortunately at the moment there is not another rider in the same class. One may eventually come through to take over and dominate. Lindback, Jonsson, Hampel. No Brits for a while though.
