No. Mark had his chance and its time for the youngsters. If he wanted it he should have applied to enter and quaify through this year. It was awful watching some old Norwegian beat him in his last GP. Don't want to see that again. Let the youngsters have a go.

Terribly sad news. had no idea he was even ill. RIP Tony. A very good rider who had his leg over a bike until what seemed just a short time ago.
-
Well done to Nicholls. A dodgy decision got him there but a Brit in second is to be cheered.
-
Bad luck Bjarne. Crumps dirty move by leaving no racing room will be remembered. If Bjarne had come off Crump would have been out on his ass.
-
Trouble for BV fans is that Crump is not likely to be at KL in 2007. Will they still be cheering him on when he rides for a rival team?
-
Shock decision by the ref. Nicholls obviously at fault. But he needs a second bite of the cherry as he cocked that heat right up.
-
I am financially solid enough to take several weeks holiday in the summer. Off next weekend in fact. All this talk about TRick not doing well this year. Where was Crump last year? Nowhere. When Crump becomes a 7 times world champion, I will class him a great rider. At the moment he is not even in the same ballpark as the legend.
-
Crump is so lucky Andersen is not in this years GP series.
-
Yep Millard is already missing some passing.
-
Oh dear Toniniho Nerves rear their head again for him.
-
So does the meeting start at 8 pm UK or is it a delayed broadcast with the meeting starting at the usual time?
-
TRick has pulled out of the meeting.

Crump At The Starts
Steve Shovlar replied to Eastie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Crump has the fasest bikes. Period. his advantage is to get them tuned to the nth degree. Doesn't matter if they blow up as they are given to him anyway. Other riders don't have this luxury and have to have their engines tuned to what they can afford. Whether a rider is on Jawas or GMs doesn't matter either. Lindback smashed the track record at Poole a couple of weeks ago. On a Jawa. Interestingly he has the same engine tuner and also gets free engines. -
Crump At The Starts

He is known for it. Rolls just enough to get away with it. But in one heat last night he got a massive roller and the ref did nothing. Cheat as far as I am concerned. -
Middlo Is Another Sven
Steve Shovlar replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well said DoncasterDragon. Compare the riders Middlo has to chose from compared to the Polish Team Manager. Middlo has done a remarkable job this year on extremely limited resources. He has the total respect of the riders and always tries to get the absolute best out of them. Ask Loram, Nicholls, Harris, Loram and Louis who they wan to ride under, and they will only give one answer. Middlo. Well done Middlo on a great effort to get the bronze medal. -
Well Done Team Gb
Steve Shovlar replied to pirate paul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done to Middlo and the boys. Started terribly but battled back to prove most people wrong with a rostrum place. If they had started they could have won it. The gating was terrible from them for the first 10 heats. As for Louis, well the fans wanted him in and he disappointed. Perhaps Stead could have gated better? We will never know. But we need a load of Brits to come through and challenge the old guard. And soon. Still, got to be happy with third! -
A Riders Reputation Preceeeding Him

Bad ref decision. But so what? The Brits benefitted and put us on the rostrum, and thats good enough for me! -
Swc Final Sat 22 July 2006
Steve Shovlar replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Simon Stead is not up to GP quality racing and was found out last night. He still has a few years left to improve a bit more but last night he was all over the place and found wanting. Louis seems to be a lot of peoples choice, and his current league form is good. Whether or not he has wha it takes to cut he mustard we will find out. Lets be honest enoough to say that of TeamGB manage to make it onto the podium tomorrow night, that must be seen a a huge victory. -
Reading Tonite
Steve Shovlar replied to lawman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The track was a mess. Once the dampness had come out of it and it went all blue groove Team GB struggled. As this event is being held in the UK, the track should be setup to suit us Team GB boys. Get a load of dirt down and make it a bit grippy. It will be our chance to have some advantage. -

Reading's Back Straight Stand
Steve Shovlar replied to Dave Stummings's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I haven't got a ticket either but will head up there and take my chances. Pretty sure anyone who turns up will get in. BSI won't want to turn away cash! If they do find the place full, they more the fool them for holding the event on an allotment. Worst stadium in the elite league by quite some distance, with a very small capacity. Shame I can't make it on Saturday, but if Team GB do sail through tonight, then if I was aiming to go I would buy my ticket this evening at the "stadium". -
Some great racing tonight although the meeting was long and drawn out. Step forward Lindback. Star of the show with some amazing passing. Last to first in one heat, stalked Gjedde in another before getting him on the line in a photo finish! Wall of death ride in another. The lad is showing the world who will be at the top in a couple more years. Looking forward to going up to the allotment on Thursday to cheer on the Brits!

Smallmead is probably the worst stadium in the elite league and will be a huge embarressment to all when the final is held there. -
World U21 Semi 1/7
Steve Shovlar replied to Crazy Munchie's topic in International World of Speedway
Well done to Antonio!! Also congrats to all other qualifiers. I bet Pop Kennett is not too popular at the moment with his son. -
Not sure I understand what you mean by Lindback tailing off. He is improving by the week and now has a 9+ elite league average, and is reaping the rewards of a Jawa sponsorship. Brian Andersen took 9 brand new engines from Lindback last week! The boy is going places. As for Adams, he is a great rider, who lacks that extra bit of aggression when it matters. he should never have surrendered his second place but was bullied out of it by a young lad with a fraction of Adams experience. Tells a very clear picture.
