  1. The Leicester track staff need to scrape off all the clay, get it back to base and run it ultra slick. Only chance they have. Alternatively, use another track like Monmore or Oxford which can cope with the weather.
  2. It’s what’s happening. And it gets even better. Nick Morris flies back to Australia on Tuesday. The Cooks are not leaving the U.K. until the final is completed.
  3. The staff are currently working on the Leicester track. It’s all a go for now. Just keep everything crossed we dodge the showers.
  4. Forecast has changed overnight and now heavy rain is pushing up the eastern side of the country. Looking at its track it will hopefully miss Leicester but Met Office do say an 80% chance of rain at 3pm before leaving a dry late afternoon and evening. Of course that means all of us Poole fans will be well on our way by then and it could be a totally wasted day. Fingers crossed it misses as we really don’t want to watch 4 riders wobbling around on a wet greasy track for the showpiece Championship Grand Final. What has caused all this is the jet stream position throwing weather front after front straight over northern France and the U.K. it’s stuck and will be for at least another week. Meaning warm above average temperatures on a strong SW wind but leading to lots of the wet stuff, torrential at times. Very frustrating. We are leaving around 11 am and the coaches at 11.30.
  5. Don’t forget the clocks go back tonight. Some might turn up an hour late.
  6. Hopefully many Poole fans will still be able to make the trip, but clearly some will have previously arranged commitments which will stop them from coming up. Still, I shall be there with many others on the first bend and hopefully we will have a decent meeting on a rideable track.
  7. It’s off. Lastest is tomorrow at 5pm if they work on it all day today.
  8. No more rain due of any consequence and a sunny warm afternoon now due with temp up to 20 degrees, which is quite astounding for this time of the year. Most Poole fans leaving around noon so if it’s going to be called off let’s hope it’s soon to save a wasted journey. What time are the gates opening? Parking might well be an issue.
  9. You know you overstepped the mark. Most would just say so and apologise. But others show themselves for what they are and double down, even though they know themselves they are out of order.
  10. Then have the common decency to say you accused the wrong person. Not ‘let’s blame Shovlar anyway”. I wished Stewart Dickson the very best in a speedy recovery the moment I heard about it.
  11. So you accuse me, wrongly, of causing Stewart Dickson heart attack, have been told it wasn’t me by several other posters, yet won’t retract and apologise. is that right?
  12. Just watched the latest forecast and it’s a dry afternoon with a fresh breeze at Leicester so a good drying wind with temperature up to 20 degrees C . The issue is rain in the early hours, clearing by 10 am to leave a dry, breezy but warm day tomorrow, so there’s an opportunity. What we don’t know is how the track has responded today and whether they have managed to dry it out. Or simply bladed the slosh off to the inside.
  13. But by doing so Leicester can just say the track is not fit for the foreseeable future so we win by us (Leicester) defaulting.
  14. That isn’t going to happen and you know it. The rules are clear. All teams signed up for playoffs. Pressure is on Leicester to solve their issues with the track. Everyone wants them to sort it so the league can be settled.
  15. We don’t want a one legged final. If the Leicester track remains unfit then use another track close by or use Belle Vue, which was rideable last night.
  16. Having heart issues rather than “on the sick”. They could always call up Terry the Trackman as he is based in the midlands.
  17. Was asked not to post. Respecting the senders request. Posted a description instead. Now makes no difference. Forecast is poor.
  18. Water the initial cause but perhaps if I the track had just been left alone rather than churning it up the damage might not have been so bad? So on BSN last night they were advertising the Premier Pairs meeting which is due to take place here on Monday night. Shouldn’t the Championship Final take precedence? If tomorrow is cancelled, then Monday should be the rerun date with the PP being put back a few days.
