  1. tonight is almost el classico #can't-wait
  2. Boxall and Lambert in the same side? I'm not missing this one!
  3. I'd rather lose by a few points and it be competitive rather than expect to win by a big margin every week. We all expected it to be a thrashing, and whatever you say, nobody knows what might have happened in heat 15; we might even have got a draw. I saw plenty of 'speedway firsts' on Monday night, so a 5-1 to us in heat 15 would not have been the biggest surprise of the night in my book (Baseby beating Starke wins that one). I'm certainly not the sort of guy who is happy because i lost. If anything I am way too optimistic. Growing up watching Canterbury couldn't stump that growth!
  4. At the end of the day we only lost to Cradley by 4 points. Plenty of referee gaffs last night and what might have been if we had ran heat 15. Baseby continues to impress me and his win over Starke will be one of my season highlights. Good return from Mason r/r but I will not entertain that he needs replacing (even if Hopwood is on offer). Compton finished the meeting looking not too far away from before he got injured. Super stuff from Lambert again - he gives everything and we love it! Can't wait for him to retain the Laurels - Boxall who?! Danny went back to trying too hard this week. He always wants to get the job done on the first lap. He has been smashing away from home recently and certainly one of my favourites. As for Garrad, i thought he did very well and i see some potential in him. His gating is strong and he does look the part so fingers crossed he continues to become more confident. WE GOT AARON BASEBY la la la la!
  5. before i answer this question, can i ask you why you have chosen Mason?
  6. Marc Owen?! almost Ben Hopwood but Cradley got him first lol.
  7. Mason still out which might be key in us keeping it competitive. Are we allowed a guest or is there no option other than r/r? Can't bloody wait to cheer our boys on tonight. Come on Ben!
  8. Morley made the trip and arrived heat 4 and he wasn't allowed to ride. mason and benji illness. sounds like poor management and lack of ambition with the guest choices. well done Lambo Danny and Aaron who got us all 4 points. chin up ben take it out on cradley Monday. well done garrad and the guests btw team effort.
  9. Are we not allowed to query why he has been doing so well for Lakeside and not for Kent then? It is a concern as he has been so reliable for us but seems so down on power since he went to number 1. Everybody at Central Park wants Ben to do well (nobody more than me). He has earned his shot at being number one. I'll be cheering him on again next Monday when hopefully he can start to get some form back riding for us. He was outstanding against Cradley last season at home so we will need him big time. And just for the record, David Mason got a paid maximum in that meeting. Maybe Boxall put a spell on the number 1 jacket before he left?! But he is riding elsewhere and is reaching the standard he is capable of. Just not for us at the moment.
  10. Can i just add that i am a Morley fan. I have spoken to him a couple of times and i get why he is so popular. It looks like he is saving his best for the EL - i get that also. It just hurts us fans when our number 1 is way off the pace. in heat 1 he left the track almost oblivious that the other bikes were literally a few meters away from colliding with him. We Got Ben Morley, come on Ben! TWG
  11. on the scorecard it said NL so what a relief to find out it was actually NT! are you kidding me?! DM is our second best rider at home. yes he has been poor away up until now but he did top score at Stoke 3 days ago. We need a number 1 that is going to go out there and get the job done 90% of the time. We keep mucking up the first two heats and are up against it for the rest of the meeting. i could have cried after the first few heats last night! Lambert was just magnificent and worth the admission fee on his own. I left the stadium with my confidence restored because of him. Add that to Mason returning from illness, Compton undoubtedly going on to win his final race (hopefully he has some cash to replace his engine), and Ayres leaving in time to make the meeting, and we will give Cradley a decent go. I have to say (and the last thing i want to do is upset anybody here because he is so popular), is that Morley just does not seem up to being number 1 for us. In the last 3 meetings he has not even won a single race. What is going on?!
  12. DM kidney infection so i'd say he'll be missing. Morley in particular needs to bring his A game otherwise i can see our pants getting pulled right down tonight!
  13. Mason withdrawn through illness. Can we use a guest tomorrow night assuming he will be absent, or can we only operate r/r for him unless one of Lambert and Morley are unavailable? Anybody know if they are our riders tomorrow? (weather looks ideal btw) if we can use a guest get Marc Owen in on 6.something (sign him up). Apart from Lambert (when he is available), we truly have nothing on the road until Compton settles back in. The situation with Morley is really baffling. He is doing so well for Lakeside but seems out of form for us. He beat Jacobs twice the other night at Lakeside... I see that Ayres has dealt with Kirby and also beat Kingston tonight. We will need Ayres to bring his form tomorrow as i predict a busy not for him! it won't be long before he slips on the number 1 jacket again at this rate!
  14. i am reliably informed that if Baseby was accessed now on league matches only he would be on 6.82 which is higher than Chessell. As much as i would love to have them both in the team, i would have to admit that (from what i have seen) Baseby is the better rider.
  15. From what Luke posted on FB, he seems like a very decent young man. I am gutted to see him go but you never know we mght be able to fit him back in at some stage. He was actually becoming a very decent second string, but unfortunately for him, Baseby just looks more solid and reliable points wise at home and away. I will not forget the 5-1's him and Mason brought home in a hurry. Best of luck Luke and welcome back Benji - let's get back on track for a top 4 finish.
  16. Please come along for the Cradley meeting and hopefully you can write some positive stuff afterwards? The ambulance issue is not acceptable and i pray that if needed again the club get it right.
  17. Boy was that a superb meeting! Now that i have calmed down about Mason's exclusion in heat 15, i suppose i would have to say that the result was fair. Who am i kidding? We were robbed and the ref should be snapped up to appear in the new Specsavers TV advert campaign! I thought Mason, Baseby, Rose and in particular, Marc Owen rode brilliantly. When i buy a speedway team Marc Owen will be getting a call #sign-him-up I'll be watching like a hawk as the Central Park merry-go-round continues with the return of crowd favourite Benji Compton. BUZZING! TWG
  18. I fear the worst for tonight result wise. Anyway, whistles at the ready!
  19. I can't wait for this explanation. Please keep it clean lol.
  20. How can you not be tempted to get some Speedway in your blood stream after viewing that link? Job well done. TWG would welcome any photo shoots at the next home meeting! TWG
  21. I wonder how long they will give Garrad? Wasn't one of the reserve places meant to be a job share between Harris and Ayres? Maybe they should of at least waited to see how Harris fared against Kirby next Monday? After all, they gave Kirby a whole season.....
  22. Harris has taken steps back in my opinion. Chessell and Ayres have come on leaps.
  23. Chessell was awful last time against Stoke and we had no Ayres for that meeting. Hopefully Benji will be back and we can take a decent lead to their place.
