  1. Well there’s good news and bad... The good, Neil Ferguson has resigned from SAGE after some extra curricular “ modelling” with his married mistress, and Sweden have got their R rate down to 0.85 without lockdown.... The bad, Nicola Stalin promises 3 weeks more of house arrest, if Scotland’s pubs don’t open soon, we are going to turn into a nation of alcoholics.....?!
  2. No speedway until June 15 at the earliest. Season likely to be very curtailed if it ever gets started. Many clubs might fold , but maybe we get a discount for next year ?
  3. The Cook / Masters clashes at the dale next season should be worth the price of admission on their own. No problems with having a big hitter to lead the team, as 2014 proved, that is more important than reserves who can score heavily......in the playoffs at least.
  4. Ricky has had his time at Armadale me thinks. He lost 1.5 points on his average and struggled badly on the road. Mind you I think he might pester us as a guest next season. I do think his LA Kings baseball cap was a portent of the season he had !
  5. No bother another letter, one of apology would sort it out, at least for some.
  6. Embra. Heeps......with honorary mention for Sam. Nicholls or Cookie. Bickley and Oystercard.
  7. This is the only CL trophy missing from Cookies cabinet so I think that will motivate him, Sam has a full set , so its Craigs turn to join him. Good luck to everyone who has braved the M6, and M5 carparks........
  8. Quel surprise!! Weather in South of Glasgow nice, pavements hardly damp,no puddles in the car park which floods regularly. Damage done earlier or no ability to sort the track ??
  9. Depends on the M5 screm, how many cones , contra flows and smart motorway sections to negotiate.
  10. Quite simple really, we have been pants so far this season and struggling everywhere, barely able to win heats 13 and 15, even at home , so getting sam back is a no brainer. Vic and Joel can`t score 15 between them on the road, sam on his own gives us a big hitter. We have a long tail granted, but the previous line up could not win races away. The point at the league leaders suggests a good move, albeit a little late, at least a week in my book , but the red tape might explain that. At least we are competitive and capable of getting 40 away, before hand we were not.
  11. Well what a difference having a proper number 1 makes. Welcome back Smiler!!
  12. Agreed , get the thing over with and move on. Maybe it will help averages for future strengthening, Now there is a silver lining !
  13. Looks like rain all morning so 50=50 this goes ahead. Tiggers by around 30 me thinks. Enjoy if you must, better entertainment I hope down at the London stadium. Cookie 15 more for sure. Maybe we should look for a member of the crowd to fill the number 3 bib, though it might take a while to get past the testing procedures.....!
  14. No bitterness, best team won. We managed 5 heat wins only and no points from reserve after heat 2. Yes the RR was not helpful and young Coles should use fingers to count, but sometimes you make your own luck. We could not hold on to a six point lead with 5 races left, and couldn’t get a heat winner in any of them, so no, points went where they deserved to. Cookie still too good at this level when confident and happy. A Monarchs legend after all and without equal at the dale, though Sam might have an opinion on that. Astute reserve utilisation also very smart by Tiggers manager, contributed to the success. It looks a long season from here, don’t see any points away so cup is best chance of success and those Newcastle matches are now huge. Tiggers, rebels and Leicester look the cream this season.
  15. Well played Weggies, Cookie sublime. Cam v. Good for us, but no support whereas Tiggers reserve and middle pairing all won races. Our reserves poor but plenty of effort from Coles, who needs some arithmetic help, and good effort in heat 8. Please replace Willie with Luke when he returns. Ricky struggling, Pavlova a welcome return and Joel fine but missed start in 12 and then Willie got in the road. As for RR, well 4 was a poor return, and if Kyle had too many shandies or powder, then he has bigger problems best dealt with via a ban and help. Long season at the dale, Weggies look competitive on all fronts. As we enjoyed in 2014to 2016, when you have a sledgehammer at No 1 you can win anywhere.
  16. Agreed, I would make us 4 point favorites if doing a book. Cook will score his max, maybe dropping 1 point, and can always have a TS if required. The match will be decided by how well Cam and Wells do. Howarth is becoming something of a track specialist, especially when dry, and the pavlova is a notch up from Sedgy in terms and gating and determination on last weeks evidence. We are woeful at reserve, which is also a Weegie weakness at this track so who knows what heat 2 brings, and who might need the ambulance. For glasgow they need Claus and Starky to be effective and skippy to contribute something beyond extra knicker elastic for the starting gate. So the weather is set fair and a good crowd should help swell the coffers. Most important of all , there will be no letter distribution to those at leaving time. can`t say fairer than that, so bring it on. !!! Golf on Sunday anyone ????
  17. A few haggis suppers should give him the boak instead. Monarchs have a good record of keeping riders sweet, and part of the extended blue and gold family. Hopefully the other Aussies take him under their wing. I wonder if he might ride at 4 with Josh, or get the 5 jacket ?
  18. Welcome back blobs, hang over settled? Pragmatic reassuring sense as always !
  19. I take your views, since you have been watching him more often. However we do have a decent track record of improving riders once in the Monarchs family. Here’s hoping we do so again.
  20. Luke comes from Melrose, so a local lad , and he has some experience of the dale. That will help since home advantage here can be huge. As long as he puts in the effort, and takes advantage of extra laps post meetings, all he needs to do is beat his opposite 2 pointer more often than not, and the blue and gold will embrace him, because that’s what we do. Anything more will be a bonus, but a few points in heats 2 and 4 will be job done.
  21. Skippy is one Aussie not allowed on this team. Must fish out my baggy green for the new season
  22. Smashing news, Jock Sedgmen back in the blue and gold, should be the ideal partner for Josh in the engine room of the team. Sedgy on the white line, Josh along the air fence. Perfect team riding! He should add a bit to the 6 average especially at home, where he is much loved. Welcome home....the bar has been polished for your next performance.
  23. Dreadful capitulation..... No more cold nights in the coo shed.....
  24. Many happy returns indeed. Some Buckfast repellent spray on its way in the birthday parcel
  25. If Worky make it all the way in all 3 competitions......they have 11 more home fixtures to organise , and if they don`t then at least 8 I reckon. Looks like plenty of double headers to come depending on rain. Geeeezzz
