  1. But without his post this scenario would have been covered up. With or without any wrongdoing re. the medico, the real farce is losing one person {or ambulance} wrecks the whole meeting, and this is right because? Still would like to know what indications gave Lawson the idea of intoxication.
  2. If you in good faith employ someone to do a job and they come with the right bits of paper saying they are competent to do it, you then have taken the necessary steps to cover yourself surely. If he was drunk then he is at fault, illness another matter entirely. Real point here is RULES SAY NO BACK-UP NEEDED. Which is twaddle.
  3. Lawson seemingly quoted what was in his opinion a paramedic who appeared drunk. He is no medical expert for sure, but how many on here seeing someone experiencing the signs relating to the conditions which mimic a drunken state, would not draw the same conclusion. The bottom line here though is irrespective of the cause behind the medico's withdrawal, several hundred fans were adversely affected thanks to the BSPA's rules on minimal medical cover. While we at Newcastle are blessed in this area, are we to judge how other clubs balance their finances by merely adhering to those rules. In recent weeks this has bitten both Worky and Berwick, but for the grace of god who will be next.
  4. Such people are 'noticed' by many but 'seen' by few until when needed to perform. Once in the lime light their behaviour may have given cause for concern. Surely it has already been stated it was a paramedic who was considered drunk and not Doc Fortune?
  5. Hell, not even his own club have told us supporters anything. Believe me when I say that there will be true fans who do not use social media who will turn up tonight blissfully unaware of last nights crash.
  6. Those bloody air horns need to be banned IMO of course!
  7. And it does not need a track injury to delay a meeting. A couple of years back a spectator suffered what was announced as a suspected heart attack which the doc had to deal with. We stood around waiting for an ambulance etc. for a good while before the meeting just beat the curfew.
  8. As usual the website is providing zero info on the matter. Does anyone know Robbo is injury wise?
  9. Look, now that the humour tide has waned, can I raise the more serious point of medical cover. Whether or not the 'possibly' spurious suggestions of the docs blood/alchohol level are accurate, should some form of back up not be mandatory. One para. one ambulance is surely a cost cutting measure which the penny-pinching Bspa are woefully at fault for. Never mind the disadvantaged spectators, what about rider safety?
  10. Or as paralytic as the Berwick doc celebrating the end of his exams perhaps?
  11. Though very tempted, given my recent 'faux pas' I will let an expert run on this one
  12. Yeah, Updates site is saying Backboard as a precaution, but cant remember the accident. Fingers crossed nothing is broken, but I guess prob. concussed so would have to miss tomorrow either way.
  13. While not old enough{or anywhere near bright enough} to have joined their hallowed ranks, I at least understand your ref. Interesting to know if Diamonds had history included in his GSCE's or needed Google Search to understand the humour.
  14. Knowing how you 'just love' Ludo I am suspicious of your use of the word 'sheet' in this context.
  15. Okay, hands up, my suggestion that Jason King was worked on by 'cowboys' was clearly ill conceived. My initial point should have been more precisely made. What I was rather ham-fistedly saying was IMO. Jason's injuries both seemed to take far longer to heal than those of big stars of the sport. Clearly the intimation is that they have 'gone private' and brought in a 'specialist' being paid handsomely for their services. In an over-worked NHS quantity vs quality is I am afraid the belief among many people. I would not ask you to comment on a service colleague's work, but sorry as an non-medico I truly believe that JK would have been better off if he had been successfully d/u in the EL and being sent to someone more renowned.
  16. I did not ever suggest that any 'medico' did not give anything other than their utmost re. Jase's injuries. I merely pointed out that people with a renowned talent tend to work where their talents are most accepted and properly employed. While I accept that in medical matters there are few certainties, surely you must accept that Jason King did not receive the treatment worthy of a professional motorsport person!
  17. You must have been typing as I was thinking. Ain't checked on availability etc. but must be on Worky's wish list.
  18. It took ages for Jase to get his knee sorted and even then was it really right! Then his wrist injury just seemed to drag on also. We see the top riders seemingly overcome similar injuries within an highly truncated time span and come back none the worse, so my original case holds water. Did the doctor even realise the sort of sport these lads ride? The truth is he/she had prob. never heard of it and thought they were 'merely' working on some builder or office worker. Cert they did their best, but an expert will only come with moolah.
  19. Cant be any worse than the NHS cowboys who ruined Jase's career though.
  20. Hey with pins, plates, things an' private medical cover via KL {he is their asset after all and an integral part of their potentially Elite Title winning combo], maybe he will be back without becoming 'Steve Austin'
  21. So another month of R/R I guess unless we do a Poole and sign somebody for a month?
