  1. It would be a brave move to drop Mr P. or Mr S. But a Berge/Kozza combo might just be worth it. If and only if the right new rider could be found. Lest ye forget what our management did last year.
  2. Yeah, he guested for the Diamonds regularly a couple of years back. Had potential then and would have been good to see now. Good job for us as his EL duties prob. cost the Tigers a win.
  3. Something we have not always been consistent at doing so I will settle for that. Nearly gave tonight a miss and very glad I was there to see such a good fight back. It seems adversity brings out the best in our lads.
  4. Since both Hawkins and Worrall are involved in the same Scunny vs. Somerset meeting with a three o'clock start time we better hope there aint no traffic probs or Jason King might have to swap kevlars for spanners. Oops Hawkins is at Ipswich of course. Too much wine at lunch methinks.
  5. R/R on Monday for our no1? Come on? I know there are a shed load of matches on, but surely a guest come have been lured{with money or such?]to our ranks. Can easily see us come 'Somerset Friday' being on a five game losing streak- oh bugger!
  6. At least they all got up and walked away. Anyone know if Lewi Kerr is okay. Seemed as if he tried to get up and clear the track and then experienced leg pain! Was he left out of heat 15 on tactical or health issues?
  7. Reckon that Masters ran Lightning into the fence and could have been excluded, but guess it was a 50/50 call. Certainly less abuse hoyed at the refs box than is the norm when that particular gentleman is in residence.
  8. Reckon if it had gone ahead, it would have been a 'first out' paradise with all others washed out in shale mud. Not exactly a sporting spectacle.
  9. Thanks for the info. Sure I was at a Worky meeting a couple of years back where an insert/come cover allowed them to use an aborted matches' programme to save their costs. Cert no prob. to me if the same route was used for todays' programmes.
  10. Think they work for William Hill and are hired out as building staff in the same way catering staff would be supplied if you hire a venue for a function, so its possible.
  11. Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but can someone explain to me how the promotion loses money if a meeting is called off before the stadium is opened? No tickets have changed hands other than on-line which carry forward. Do we have to pay money to Scunny for cancelling, for instance? Or is Brough charged for by W. Hill even if not used?
  12. Exactly my point. The hospital is just up the road, but our management STILL provide two ambulances and abundant trained staff. With Berwick having such a strict cut-off point the promotion must realise that with a prolonged journey time, having only one fully trained medico on hand will eff. end the meeting in the event of an injury of any magnitude.
  13. All the more reason to have two ambulances in ground attendance, or do the paying customers at the turnstile not count in that cost-cutting equation. Shame that the Newcastle idea of medical cover is not mandatory. When Anton Rosen broke a collarbone last week, the delay was minimal- and with no need to cripple Berwick,s own medo. cover to satisfy cover for a sporting injury which should be met by the promotion.
  14. No wonder it is when the blasted promoters are so set in their ways that they refuse to recognise European speedway exists. No British lads in the pairs last night and the Aussies robbed of Jason Doyle- at least we got see Daks on the World stage though.
  15. And now the sun is bloo.y shining. Typical. Despite the best efforts of all concerned, and with the team on a roll too. Good luck to the lads at Sheffield and Scunny.
  16. Can we all just give the idiots running brit speedway a kick up the ar.e for not allowing a Tai/Chris partnership at least the chance to shine on the world stage. Shame on the managers putting their vested interests before British success.
  17. A true legend, a sadly missed reminder of why I failed to revise properly on my 'O' levels. He and Jim Laker were the iconic BCC commentary team. The timeless test awaits Richie.
  18. Sorry, missed that thread, searching soon. But c'mon, surely Woofy and Bomber are a realistic team esp. with an up and coming ala. Cooky/Lawson/Worrall.R/even Lambert.R. in tow for experience?
  19. Processional track with no passing and little or no pedigree, maybe later on in the season if they perform?
  20. Searched for a topic, but non available, so here goes. Where are the brits in this? Yes I know the British speedway 'promoters' shun this event- but WHY? . These self centered morons are killing the sport in our country for totally vested interests. Not only are we deprived of the chance of watching Woofy and Bomber? flying our flag on the telly- important enough. The real problem here is they are stopping our riders gain experience against the top countries. Hell, they even scuppered the Aussies by Jason Doyle having to ride for Leicester. Whoopee! Go for it you promoters- kill the sport because you think you know better than the rest of the World.
  21. I can live with that- as long as its a Welsh twang to a Newky accent that you have in mind. { with the film in mind by the way}.
  22. Yeah, lashing it down in Wallsend- could be waterlogged at Brough methinks?
  23. Lets all hope that a month into the season, the usual whingers are not clamouring for a repeat of last years' team reshuffle. Get behind THESE lads and stay there. Last years team was crippled not by injury, but by the 'buy success' brigade.
  24. Given the ELRC result, nowt else won by a blasted Aussie would be a good start.
