  1. No fixture is meaningless if you have paid good money at the turnstiles{or net as I do}. Its the smell and the atmosphere that many fans come to savoir. We can but hope the that the lads will do the business and cream the Scunny scallywags. Remember that 'bragging rights do matter' when it comes to team morale for the real league season. Rule on the Panthers fixture on the telly a week Tuesday. Yeah I know we have the Bandits next weekend which I hope to attend, but the Diamonds on the telly against the Peterborough Panthers- exactly which one is the most prestigious as we ride against a team for the first time in How Long.
  2. As I have said before, Ludo was the only regular contributor to our pre-season track preps. Does that really show anything other than his total commitment to our club. He is surely distraught at his performances and doing his utmost to rectify them. We must be careful here to not do a 'Chris Harris' and terrorise a rider merely for doing his best. I really do believe that Ludo is in the same mold as CH and is truly influenced by media insights. Are we as Diamonds fans really doing our best to support Ludo . When he took an heat 1 victory I truly hoped he had turned the corner, but alas ?
  3. Whole-heartedly agree with all you say- it did seem {heat 1 notwithstanding} to be an shambolic performance from Ludo. It should not be long before some of the travelling fans reach home and we get a true viewers opinion of the teams' showing.
  4. The bottom line here is surely that until the new averages come out and relegate him, Lingren IS the no1 and even if he is riding like a number two {and I don't mean in a numerical sense}, while we can criticise him, we are at the moment forced to accept it.
  5. Well we will soon see how well the lads go at scunny . Lets hope Schrammy is on fire cos I reckon he has seven rides a coming. Does anyone know how well Mellgren will be covered by RR or are they equally affected by average. I here that we can only use Rosen or the reserves.
  6. Looks on paper to have been a good close meeting for the in-house spectators. Obviously, being a Diamonds fan, I was rooting for the home team but the Bears came to the party and provided good entertainment.
  7. Exactly my opinion also. If someone had created a system where in any way shape or form it disadvantaged the so called EL, it would never have seen the light of day. But on the other foot, it seems all things are possible. Surely some form of system could have been introduced to circumvent this Good Friday cock-up.
  8. Yeah, I guessed we would end up in this scenario somewhere during the season given that KL have 'dibs' on them both. Sense and the BSPA have always been strange bed fellows.
  9. Interesting to see Steve's mini interview on Sky recently. I tried to 'do it on my own' was his comment. At the start of last season we at Brough put his poor showing down to confidence-and while that may have had some bearing- this seems to indicate that his equipment may have been at fault. Hopefully his currant form is showing that inborn talent does require a 'leg up' via sponsorship.
  10. Considering the importance of this meeting re. our LC qualifying hopes, one would hope that George is on the phone right now, but methinks that in reality it is all done and dusted. After all, what are the rules regarding rider declaration prior to a meeting. We Diamonds fans are used to being kept in the dark regarding such things. Sorry, but if this is still the case then all the PL owners need shooting for not bringing in some rule changes to compensate for this new EL system. Typical though, as long as the mighty EL plods on nobody really cares as to the impact on our PL product.
  11. Even given his recent riding irregularities The Rocket {or is that squib} is I believe an Swedish Elite league rider whose average is more likely to go plus rather than minus seven hence my jocular previous post.
  12. Would it be so very cynical of me to suggest that a certain Swede's average is being 'massaged' at this early stage of the season lest he be prematurely thrust into the no 1 slot. { This more a talking point than a suggestion of any wrong doing by the way}
  13. Yes indeed it was three. my apologies for forgetting Robbo. def. a night to forget for Sheffield, but its another case of cruelty to animals.
  14. Well done lads. two paid maximums, two more in double figures, no opposing rider in double figures and both tactical rides nullified add up to a 63-27 thrashing. Finally Ludo and the Kerminator come to the party pockets brim full with cakes[well points anyway] Yippee and I missed the match mores the pity. Only another three or four like that one and Ludo may even convert a certain silver haired member of the aristocracy.
  15. Sure hope the lads have their gating boots on and have better luck with machinery tonight. Too many blown engines and the like recently.
  16. Having seen the trouble we had with Worky already def. not looking forward to the Monarchs visit on this showing. Still be good to see Deek and Stevie W.{GOD help our reserves]in his form together with his track knowledge.
  17. Finally got that, many thanks. Now to this evenings action with a Diamonds bent. <removed - posts regarding meetings and riders taking part should be posted on the relevant meeting threads, thats why they are there. No duplicate posts/comments>
  18. Ah yes, I think I see his point now. Is the intimation that points scored against Plymouth are meaningless then. Points breed confidence, not to mention important revenue for mech. upgrades.
  19. Well we should be seeing an acid test of Ludo on Sunday against Simon Stead and can Rosen tame either Roynon or Lanham. Surely George will have had his man management hat on, but that can do nothing to ally any mech. probs. the lads are suffering.
  20. While I may have missed out on Rene, my blurb def. made mention of Richie W. and Schrammy riding for the Witches. I will also be following the Worky Vs Edinburgh meeting on live update from their website.
  21. A hat full of past and present Diamonds riding tonight. Started out by following the Worky match on there live update site. Steve Worrall scoring a nice 12 paid 15 there but Deek seemed to go down injured so hope nowt too serious. That got me wondering if anyone else was out there riding. Turns out there were a few out there with Diamonds connections having mixed fortunes. Down at Kings Lynn Lewis Kerr was doing a 10+1, but Lewis R was getting a 0 while a certain Bjerre senior collected 3+1 vs the Bees. Richie W. was up against Peterborough in his new Witches colours and getting a good 12+2 while giving excellent support was our very much currant Diamond Chris Schramm with a good 8+1. Good to see the lads past and present mostly going strong. Kerr and Schramm are esp. important to point out. As a PS I hope a few other Diamonds fans spotted that the first two heats of this years GP series were won by ex Diamonds in Bjerre and Pederson respectively. Sorry folks, new to this forum lark. Why has my new topic regarding tonight's meetings been buried in the depths of the forum instead of the most recent posts. All tips welcome please.
