  1. The way it is going, I will want to be paid to go and watch.
  2. This is right up there with 'please sir, the dog ate my homework!'
  3. If this is true, does that mean KL can expect to get a facility (guest, r/r) for his absence in away matches? That saves Buster money, but would be the ultimate p1ss take. Amateur sports have more credibility in the way they are run.
  4. What is the excuse for him not representing his team in the Pairs at Leicester on Thursday?
  5. Two similar away wins in a week for the Lions. Fewest heat winners in both matches. Down to the last heat in both, despite having had decent leads. Carried Harris in both. Come on Bomber, join in. Being entertaining is not about screwing up in Heat 14 to keep it exciting. Yeah, I know, I’m being greedy, Dicko’s boys are on fire!
  6. ‘Most undeserved away win you have ever seen’? Lynn were reliant on two riders having 6 or 7 rides each and going through the card to scrape a home win. Clearly a bad guest choice but it speaks volumes for the rest of team. Even Bomber tried to help you. Unlucky team building I guess.
  7. ……There is now! Fricke was awesome tonight. He had so much speed it didn’t seem to matter if he gated or not, or against who he was racing against. Max grabbed the headlines but Sedgmen was brilliant again. He’s red hot out of the tapes and although he’s not as quick as some others, he seems to ride a clever line and is difficult to pass. Expected the Aces to be more of a threat to be honest but they never really got going. Lions are really on it now at home.
  8. Like it! Pretty sure when it comes Poole negotiating race nights, powers that be will stand aside and say ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Go Your Own Way’.
  9. Stewart Dickson has apparently offered to take over team management duties.
  10. If he was notified by text then that is appalling and cowardly.
  11. Everyone at Leicester has a soft spot for the twins (having seen them start out as mascots), but getting axed, however unfair it may seem, is unfortunately part and parcel of the sport. The sooner they learn to accept it the better. In view of the lack of opportunities out there, they may have to learn to be tight lipped.
  12. Haven’t seen the Facebook posts but the situation appears to be a little awkward all round. It was obviously Dickson’s decision to drop Dan (he’s a winner and therefore ruthless). Dan will now need to get his head down in the Championship (more his level) with his new club Birmingham. Brum of course have just appointed a new manager…….. a certain Mr Stewart Dickson.
  13. Pairing King with reserves would soon get you in to a position to use a T/S!
  14. So you'd pair up a rider having a dip in form with a reserve in three of his rides?
  15. Good for you mate. Was the parrot sh*t on his shoulder the giveaway?
  16. Not so sure about your mascot suggestion. I was at Peterborough too and at the interval I overheard their mascots having a big argument about leaving the toilet seat up.
  17. Fair enough, But I think that your reference LGBLTs may be slightly wrong. It is however a great acronym for my favourite lightly garnished bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich.
  18. Didn’t win because we didn’t have a particular guest?…Oh dear….Lucky to still be able to get a facility for the guy!
  19. Wow! And my other half accuses me of collecting useless stuff! The original outline proposals for BP included an enclosed multi use main stand that could be used by the community during the week as an additional income stream……….Is this tucked away in your garage by chance?
  20. On the subject of first bend tangles, I seem to recall back in the seventies that there was a simple marker post on the centre green about 20m from the start line. (They had it at Leicester so I assume it was at all tracks). The idea/rule was that riders were not supposed to move out of their theoretical starting lane before that marker point. I'm not sure how well it was implemented (referee's discretion I suppose), but I do not recall anywhere near as many re-starts from first bend incidents. Also, the red light went on for a race to be stopped, the race never re-started without someone being excluded. Are my recollections correct?
  21. Tonight was my first visit to the Showground and I thought that the racing was top notch. That was because I saw all riders having a real go and Bagpuss is right, the outcome was down to that little bit of quality on top of effort. Criticism of the Panthers’ riders is a little harsh. It was a little sad driving back to Leicester knowing that was likely to be my only visit to this track. Now that I’ve seen the place, I’m more frustrated than ever to see yet another(…..yawn….) great track disappear into the history books.
  22. Just cover the straights and leave the bends. If the dogs can build up enough speed on the straights they could be trained to lean and slide the bends (they’re clever creatures you know)…….I’ll get my coat.
  23. Morris is already reviewing his set up for his next Foxhall visit. Putting glue on his a*se will be the first priority!
  24. In response to someone posting something irrelevant to this thread and with no apparent sense of humour…………Yes.
