  1. They are looking to sell season tickets at the Open Day and it might occur to the management that fans would be more interested in seeing who new riders are rather than what the new logo looks like. My contacts in the know have advised me that the new logo will almost certainly be ……a Lion!
  2. Your post reads negative…….But you are spot on!!!
  3. If Zagar is signed, he’ll be eagerly awaiting for the away fixture/s at Leicester to be announced…..so that he has time for excuses for being unavailable. Unless you follow Belle Vue, I don’t see why anyone else would want this guy as your No.1. That said, if he sees the season out and averages over 8.5 I’ll take my hat off to him.
  4. Doyle has always been loyal to British Speedway and his personality doesn’t come into it for me.
  5. Oxford Spires? Where has that come from? in view of the fan demograph, would have thought the ‘Rebels’ name would have been resurrected. Nostalgia….It’s not what it used to be.
  6. Like others have posted, Oxford would appear to be taking a massive financial risk with teams in both tiers. It could all go very wrong but I applaud their approach and enthusiasm. A breath of fresh air for the sport in this country.
  7. The term ‘Rising Star’ should imply youngster on the way up. Riders in their mid twenties should not be put in this category for team structures. The RS position is currently protected in heat formats and in my opinion, riders of that age should be able or prepared to mix it with all riders in the league.
  8. So long as the team is competitive, free of druggies and fixtures are completed within a reasonable time frame, I think most Lions supporters would settle for that
  9. It’s money well spent if they can get a reasonable hotel with good wi-fi. That way they can have a Zoom meeting without anyone having to leave their room!
  10. Think we need to get Richie’s address and pass it on to your Dad!
  11. Yes, like the look of that septet, pretty solid as you say. Assuming that Flint would take the RS berth, the averages for the other six (by my maths) add up to 40.63. This allows for 2.5% reductions for Lawson and Kemp. This then obviously assumes that the points limit would be at least 41.
  12. There is also a shortage of teams if you are referring to the UK.
  13. Bit harsh on Vatcher as I do like what he is supposedly trying to do. Unfortunately he is just a puppet like Phil Morris. After one season with Morris in his position, I cannot see what he has brought to the table to date.
  14. To be honest, I bet the club would probably agree to this even if it wasn’t in the rules. Yes, it’s that important (not) and nobody can really be a*sed.
  15. The SGB website states that a new date is to be arranged following today’s postponement.
  16. Your post highlights that you are intelligent and will therefore be lost on the powers that be!
  17. Thanks, do you have knowledge of the points limit by chance?
  18. An international team can still include a Brit…………Surprised you didn’t in include Chris Harris!
  19. Not asking you to spill the beans but are we looking at seven man teams or the rumoured six man teams?
  20. The longer this Jubilee Final drags on the more embarrassing it becomes for the sport. What started as a one off three team final, then became a two legged affair for the two reams that we’re still bothered (in what other sport, at any level, would a team reach a final and lose interest?) and now we are down to a one off meeting with an under strength away side made up of guests. But after over a year, the final format may even change again if it is ever raced. If there is actually a physical trophy, sell the bloody thing for scrap and give the money to the Ben Fund. Let’s all just move on.
  21. When the Cubs eventually get the fixtures completed, they will most likely be celebrating (fingers crossed) by spraying each other with mulled wine rather than champagne!
  22. Has a season ever ran into November? Unless rock/paper/scissors is introduced that seems to be the way it is going looking at weather forecasts. If it were any later than that, Santa might be available to guest for any unavailable riders.
  23. There is a silver lining for Poole because the trophy polish that they bought can be sold to Leicester Cubs for their league and cup silverware (barring disaster). The Pirates will most likely claim the Jubilee Trophy but there is no need to keep any polish back for this because you can’t polish cardboard.
  24. The club’s pricing is actually for a wet and cold Sunday afternoon. There, bet you’ll go now!
  25. It would appear to be a good opportunity for thrifty hide and seek enthusiasts to test their skills after the first match!
