As was said by KT (I think it was him), if you got to watch a replay 4 times before you can notice a slight move then their was no movement. The 2 decisions were bad decisions that could have cost BV the match, and definitely affected Wrights earnings last night.

Thing is with riders like Thorsell is that they can mix it in a one off, but mixing it at the top level for the GP season is another matter, not everyone can do it. Just a few years ago the names of Drabik and Smektala were being branded as ones that can take it to the big guns, just before them it was Lebedevs and Milik. Sometimes its better not to get what you wish for.

But Nilsson won the Challenge meeting last year in Glasgow. That’s what others have to do.

If you remember a few years ago Woofy offered to look after young Brits but the British powers that be turned him down......... so cant grumble if he looks after someone else, wherever they from, thats what Woffy wants to do. Woofy has the will and the money to do things, British speedway rejected him.

Cant completely agree nor disagree with you. I agree todays machines are too unwieldly, especially to less experienced ones. However, those 250 bikes are not for the big boys. For starters the seniors will weigh a lot more than those kids, meaning the bikes will respond even less favourably when they locked up, the engine will just be flat. Likewise if the track gets heavy ie too much dirt or water. The meeting yesterday was enjoyable because they were kids under 16, but there wasn't a great deal of passing really. The way to go is back to upright 2 valves with a limit on carburettor size (thats easy to check as well), and stick a rev limit on them as well. That should bring the cost down for everyone, The racing used to be exciting in the 70's when it was 2 valvers, and even the 80'sat the onset of 4 valvers, so the super rockets of today are not needed for excitement. For progress> Nah I dont think it is progress. Hasnt the IOW speedway tried a meeting of 2 valvers, or something radicle.

Commentary loud and clear on my Discovery+ I think the Danish management need to teach Mikkel Andersen how to react when one looses. Well done William Cairns, such a tough last ride for him. I like the effort the other Brit, Cooper Rushen, put in. Like his style too, be nice to see how he develops on a 500. it seems some hatred for WBD….. why is that? They bringing world speedway to British screens, plus some Premier matches and the British Championship

Serious question…….. how do you prepare gates so they are equal? It isn’t good the way things go at the moment so something needs to be done. Are equal gates achievable? Is it something that can be done in a short period of time ie on the day of the GP? Or is it a beginning of the season type of thing?

It may well be but not according to Discovery+ Upcoming events both last night and this morning.

Why not just pay £60 for 12 months discovery+ then you can watch all the GPs plus some British premiership club racing plus loads of other sports inc BSB and world Superbikes. That’s £5 per month, no hassle wondering you going to get a free stream or not. Probably wasting £5 per month on something else.

There is potential for 4 new faces each year, 3 from Challenge, 1 from SEC. Majority of riders need more than the first year to get accustomed to the commitment needed at GP level. GPRacing is not league, it is much higher and much more intense. So my opinion is there is enough potential, need to be careful the series is not weakened by too many changes all at the same time.

Ok, re your last statement. You name 2 riders who were in last years Challenge final in Glasgow that should be riding in this years GPs instead of Lambert and Fricke......that is do better than Lambert and Fricke.

The winner of last years GPChallenge is riding in this years GP series, that’s what you want. Are you sure he should be there? I agree with the GPChallenge, but does it always throw up the best rider for a 10 meeting long GP series. Riding at GP level is different to riding in any league. So much mental commitment as well as other resources needed in abundance. Vaculik dropped out of GP series for a bout 4 years (if I recall correctly) so to “mature”as a rider. Lambert was in the GPs as the SEC champion, dropped out of the GPs, came back last year, from series reserve, a different (more mature) rider. Sometime human judgement is better than statistics ie league averages. It must be a headache for those that have to decide and this discussion we having now takes place every year…….just seems to have started earlier this year.

What rider would stick is nose out and say “I’m going to make the top 6” and therefore not enter the qualifier for the next year. None. So you going to have a qualifier with 15 of the current riders which ends up being the same as a GP meeting of which they already done 10 in the season, and only room for 1 “fresh” name in the qualifier. Me thinks that needs more thought.

I paid £60 for the year to watch Discovery+, already I have received my monies worth….. 3 GP’s, and 1 GP2. Plus just today I watched a World Superbikes race, championship bmx racing, and mountain bike down hill championship. Tuesday evening I watched Mondays Wolves v BV match. And there is so much more to come. That’s hard to beat.

Didn’t think I would ever say this but….. I enjoying the racing tonight (and last night) at Marketa stadium. I would really like Vaculik to have the ultimate success. He can fly, no doubt about it but….he hesitates when wanting to have a go at passing where the most successful go for it if they think there is a fair chance of doing it. Dudek is another that also does the same.

That was not a bad meeting. With Marketa stadium reputation I was expecting a lot worse. Rew and Roe tailed off a bit at the end, shame really. How come round 1 of GP2 has taken over the thread for round 2 scheduled for two weeks time?

What is your definition of “some of the regularGP riders”, as in some kicked out, some left in?

Sunday night I watched the gp highlights on Discovery+. One hour program and they covered majority of the races. It confirmed my thinking from Saturday night live….. it was a very good gp, plenty of racing, full of thrills. And now comes Prague………

I not a Jack fan but he was robbed tonight, shame. Whilst in the past most were applauding Zmarzliks genius, I always reckoned he was verging on wreckless. For two years he has had an easy passage, put under pressure, like tonight, and the wreckless Zmarzlik might come to the surface and be more noticeable. I just hope none of his opponents get injured. If it’s Freddie that is going to take it to Zmarzlik then I am happy with that. Even more so if Freddie come out as winner. He deserves it, always a trier. But he needs some backup. Disappointed with Leon Madsen. I know he been carrying a back injury last couple years. If he has had surgery maybe it’s not worked and it’s affecting his performance.
