I have a couple of old associates who had Testicular Cancer many years ago and both are fit and healthy. If Kenneth is diagnosed and it is in early stage then, like Prostate Cancer it is very treatable. I wish him the best possible news and outcome.

I was sorry to read this. Like most fans of my age I remember people as they were and picture them that way. It comes as a shock sometimes to recognise they may be old and frail. I wish him and all the old riders who may now be in poor health better times ahead.

As my only meeting in the past 30 years was Cardiff 2014, and I was sat with the old codgers about 1/2 mile from the track. I could not possibly comment.

It is a travesty when a club puts out a side with 0 or only 1 British rider in the 1-5 positions, as does happen. British fans pay good money to see competitor countries have their riders gain experience, to our riders detriment. Riders from other nations ride here every week, then come the summer ride for their own countries in the SWC...and we come last because we don't have the riders. Yes, fans want to see class riders but surely the bulk of any team here should be made up of Brits. I know...it's impractical, makes no financial sense, the fans don't want it etc. etc.

A great idea in principle Iris but falls apart in the execution. A proper league with the Champions from every country with a league, no matter how small would work, provided riders only rode for one team. As they don't (My son could not get his head around this) it would work if a multi-teamed rider rode for the team located in his home country...( a Brit riding for a British team and a Polish team has to ride for his British team in the Champions League). By my reckoning (correct me Iris if I am wrong) the league would have the champions from; UK Poland Denmark Sweden Finland Czech Republic Russia ? This should be run on a league basis, not a one-off meeting. As you rightly say...Mickey Mouse. Iris...am I being fanciful and on the wrong thread?
