"I didn't see it, it didn't happen" - great. Also, the last line told you exactly what my point was. Speedway fans changing their mind on a whim because someone tells them too. Pathetic. Why not actually form an opinion yourself some time. Mind you, that could be dangerous for some! For the record, at the time I posted, "Somerset Rebels with the confederate flag confuses me. Nobody would call themselves the xxx Nazis with a Swastika as a logo would they? I'm bemused as to how its allowed."
-
Funny how about 5 or 6 years ago I questioned the flag no here and was shouted down. The club change it and it's a great change. Speedway fans in being fickle shocker!

I can only see 3 months free BT sport on Sky from BT on their website. Then it costs £5 a month. It implies it's free for the 12 months but read the detail and it's only "free" for 3 months. edit > ignore that. When you go ahead with it, you then get offered it for 12 months on a BT box.

Some of us remember Aces fans arguing that Simon was British number 1 that winter as he had a higher average than all over British riders. One of those he had a higher average than was Scott Nicholls, Scott Nicholls the number 1 who lead Coventry to the treble. He started on an 8.5ish average. It was Nicki Pedersen wiping him out that ruined his season. That was for Mads. Someone said the EL points limit was too high back in November. And if you don't/didn't believe me you're thick or biased. Or both.

Firstly, sorry Lynn fans. Some serious twisting of the truth going on here. Poole did NOT use both double uppers. They used neither. Ludvig Lindgren was not available (Swedish semi-final I seem to remember. Which is why Jonas Davidson and Ricky Kling were both missing too) and as a result his double up partner Sam Masters was set to ride. Sam failed a late fitness test. The rules at the time said any facility was for the lower averaged rider. Sams average was higher than Szczepaniaks so it meant he (Masters) rode in the 1-5 but Lindgrens average was lower than Szczepaniaks so when he (Lindgre) rode he had to ride in reserve while Szczepaniak rode in the 1-5. As a result of Sam failing a fitness test it meant any facility rather than being for Masters would in fact be for Lindgren. So Kurtz replaced Lindgren (thats fine) BUT somehow rode in the 1-5. As a result not one of Pooles double uppers rode. So no idea where this "agreement" that both teams would use both double uppers come from. Now Lakeside, they were obviously missing the late Lee Richardson but as mentioned above Jonas Davidsson was riding in a Sweden (semi-)final too. So they needed to use R/R and a guest. They used Robbo as a guest for Jonas (or possibly pick Robbo as their double upper and used Kauko as a guest - it makes no difference as both were 5th in Lakesides averages regardless of who rode and both could guest in place of Jonas). So Lakeside didn't need any permission to use their second double upper as technically he was guesting. Lakeside did nothing wrong (directly), while Poole had a guest for a 3.8 rider in the 1-5 while a 4 point rider rode in reserve! Poole cheated and Lakeside did nothing about it. If Poole cheating which saw them win a last heat decider against Lakeside is seen as a "fitting tribute" in the eyes of some then I think they're mad!

You're right but you got there being wrong. KK will drop his average because rolling averages have changed from 24 to 20 meetings in the time he's been away, he had 4 excellent meetings that will be dropped making a big difference. KK has historically had good year, bad year, good year, bad year. Check it out. Last year was terrible so this year should be good. I expect him to do well, and by October to have increased his average but after the first set of GSAs unless he rides really well his average is likely to drop.

This is always brought up as a defence. I'd argue it was sick of Poole to cheat against Lakeside days after their captain and number 1 had been killed on track. The line of, "The promotions for both sides agreed the important thing was to,put on a show for the crowd without bickering." is bullrubbish. That could have been done by following the rules. There was no logical reason why Mateusz Szczepaniak could not have been moved from 6 to 2 and Todd Kurtz moved form 2 to 6 and the team be legal. So why not just do it? Poole didn't want to as it meant having a stronger reserve this way, thus cheating. Lakeside were understandably in no state to argue so "rolled over" for Poole.

I've just tweeted a couple of photos of the "stadium" as it stands now. https://twitter.com/shawncbrown/status/687401891169480704 https://twitter.com/shawncbrown/status/687401929970987008

When you consider KK is going to drop 0.75 of a point straight off, Harris will stay the same and King is likely to struggle as a heatleader so lose a point. It really depends what Garrity, Bates and Sarj do. I'd be telling them to throw the first 4 meetings to keep their averages down then bring in a heat leader for Woryna.

HaHaHaHAHaHaHa. HaHAHAHaHaHaHaHa And I forgot HaHAHAHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHAHaHaHaHaHAHAHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHAHaHaHaaHaHaHaHAHaHaHaHaHAHA So Coventry could potentially have Kenni Larsen lined up to replace Woryna in April or May!

If Barker is on the list Coventry should get him as his parent club. Lynn can have Josh Bates.

Carmarthen would never be described as well attended. I went twice and there could have been no more than 150 people there. But it was good fun, a tidy little track with one of the best views in speedway I have ever seen (on the back straight you literally looked over the track). As for Newport and Tim Stone. I could write for hours about all the failings there but at the end of the day, while he was alive you never once heard that the club was in trouble, he needed money, the club was going to close down or that any riders were owed anything they were told they'd get. Then the Mallets come along and while they won a KOC and built better teams there was constant money worries, more people that ever seemed to be banned or fell out with the management (and Tim Stone wasn't afraid to ban people!) and story after story of riders/supplier being owed money. Maybe Tim Stones style of accept a rubbish team but know you're going to have one next year was the way to go? As for Ebbw Vale/Rassau/CoW I'd be prone to not bother with league racing. I'd be SCB licensed but would run, initially PL level individuals once a month. If that worked I'd look at maybe twice a month. I'd also move my level of rider up and down based on attendances and rider availability. I'd try and get a hard-core of rider who rode all meetings (maybe 8-10 of them the same riders) to build up familiarity and I'd also try and get one rider who was a little bit better than the rest so we had a guy who could be aimed for. Every few months I'd bring in a name and build up the my star man vs the name. The name wouldn't have to be anyone great, but "the Hungarian Champion" or "the Dutch Champion", that kind of thing, make it exotic - hard to do when 6/7 of your team are already foreign! I'd have nothing to do with team speedway. Initially anyway, I may end the year with a Rassau select vs Somerset meeting. But I'd generally be trying to avoid any connection with league/team speedway as it's slowly becoming a farce. I'd aim for a totally difference audience, I'd not try and attract people from the rest of the UK I'd want my locals to turn up. I'd even try some American style handicap racing and look at having the difference divisions too. To shake things up I'd be inviting those using the moto-x track to come over and race some short track every 4th heat when theres a gap, I'd invite people with pit bikes and quads to also be involved in any extra racing. While the speedway would be #1 priority it wouldn't be the only thing I'd have there and having league racing you're prevented for putting other stuff out during the meeting.

The idea is the bikes don't need servicing. It's you buy two engines, plonk them in your frames out of the box and race them until next winter just changing the oil and basic maintained. Yes a greater cost to buy one but it doesn't need tuning before you race it and doesn't need servicing every few meetings so over a season you only spend what it cost to buy 2 engines. At least thats how I remember it being "sold".

Club was kicked out to build a hotel (weird place to build a hotel) what must be getting on for 10 years ago now. No hotel and the track is still sort of there.

Who did I critisise? For the record, nobody asked for an apology. I made the choice myself to apologise having read another a posts from people I have a great deal of respect for who agreed my word choice was poor.

Firstly to Phil for causing trouble for him. Secondly to Tsunami who I accused of defending Middlos use of a certain word. He didn't. I know a few are not fans of the guy but Tsunami a good guy really - I look forward to sharing another beer with you at Cardiff! Thirdly to anyone who was offended by my use of the word retard, I honestly meant no offence to anyone but Jon Cook. I most certainly did NOT mean to use it as an attack on anyone with a mental disability and would be shocked and appalled if I heard anyone use such a word to describe someone like that. Finally, Jon Cook and starman will wait for a long time to get an apology from me for anything I said apart from that Jon Cook was a power bottomed homosexual as thats a compliment to my people!

And to think you called me a wimp yesterday

I thought this was a thread about how some stupid people have totally ruined our sport with their stupid rules, lists and then breaking of some of them rules.

This one time, I watched Sam and he fell off. I don't ever remember seeing Shawn Moran fall off. In fact I don't ever remember seeing Mark Burrows fall off (if I ignore all the times he did) so he was probably one of the most talented riders ever.

I love it when you talk dirty starry xx

Agreed, there's no way a man who has Starman and half the BSPA up his arse is a top!

You Shouldn't Call People Retards. It's Offensive

You see, I look upto Middlo, he's a hero. I like to copy what he does and says. If he uses the word retarded I just assume it's the cool thing to do because Middlo is cool isn't he? -

Well I never! Starman has just condemned Middlo! -
Someone (Phil?) Changed it to "Jon Cook" so I changed it to "Jon Cook Is A Power Bottomed Homosexual"

It's not is it? Why do we have the list? Because of the format. Scrap the format and you can scrap contentious lists.
