Somerset Vs Rye House 25/03/16 League Cup
SCB replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's not ambiguous. People are just not reading the rules correctly. TR's are not allowed in the PLC. If they had intended for them ONLY NOT to be used in the semis and final then rule 18.2.4 would have to be 18.2.3.1 and would be a sub rule of 18.2.3 but it's not. Scunthorpes use of a TR was wrong. -
Bt Sports Costs
SCB replied to sportmaniaphotos's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
After complaining about how long it took BT to install my line, then activate BT Sport plus cashback and offers I'm paying £8.66 a month for phone, broadband and BT sport. Best bit of being messed around by a company ever -

SCB replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
All that fuss about no Team GB and the year it's not countries its mix and match no Brits in it anyway And none of them teams make any sense - apart from Monster as we do know team Monster. I just don't see the point. -
Pirates Vs Roobins, Ela, 25 Mar 2016, 12 Noon
SCB replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He rode 12 meetings for Poole in 2011 so did achieve an average - admittedly it was 3 because you can't have a 1.23 average. But it does show how long he's been riding EL. -
First NL meeting, away from home at a track like Cradley and Daniel Bewdley top scores. I'm going to suggest he might be a little bit good

Mick has a habit of telling people what they want to hear. But equally has a terrible habit of doing stupid/bad things that he then has to fix. I'm sure he always means well but just gets it wrong too often. I agree with him on concession price though. PROVIDED he is promoting the student price to the students of Coventry.
-
"entitied to a concession"?! No wonder the country is bankrupt if all OAPs have taken that attitude the last 65 years! Nobody is entitied to anything.
-
The point is this season they're all likely to move up. But they're going to earn it. And what's the point of just giving someone a place? They've had two years of being hand held now they have to earn a place in the team.
-
Ambition isn't being given something it's wanting to earn it and going for it and earning it. If you call me "World Champion" because i want to be, ambition is me going out to try an achieve it. Garrity being handed a second string place isn't ambition. Newman fighting to earn that place is. Garrity has messed up Coventrys team. Havvy is talking rubbish!

Glasgow V Coventry (challenge) 27th March 2016
SCB replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You say doubled the ONS says increased about 1.3% a year for the last 10 years. That's 13% and is a historical 10 year low. Still you clearly know better than the ONS. As for the "know all" - I don't know all I just commen on things I know. I assume from that you're admitted you comment on things you don't know?! Maybe like wage inflation and..... REALLY?! I have the recipt for my car when new in 2005 that says it cost £52,000 and the price today is £72,000. That's not a 100% increase. A Ford Focus in 2007 cost 12k and today costs 14k. And actually, with finance it costs less these days due to interest rates dropping. Certainly nowhere near 100% increase. So a prestige sports car and a run of the mill family car both disprove your doubling of price. Feel free to find an example that shows your 100% increase in price. Same with wages. -
Good to see that the NL riders didn't bother

Glasgow V Coventry (challenge) 27th March 2016
SCB replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unless Glasgow has its own mini economy that's wrong. Wage inflation in the last ten years has been almost zero. So any ride at all in speedway prices the last ten years has been ahead of wage inflation. -
Yes. The lowest average draft rider will always be in reserve. The highest one CAN move into the 1-5. So technically after 4 meetings your two reserves could be the top 2 in your averages but one would still stay in reserve. It does mean that a draft rider in a team like Leicesters could flip between heat leader and reserve every two weeks!
-
Correct. And after 1 of 4 meetings Starke has the higher average.

tbf I don't live anywhere near cockermouth. While February was certainly a bit damp the winter from October to January was as nice as winter is ever going to be. So I'd describe the winter in South Wales as a good one! As for it raing most of February, I'll put money in it raining most of February 2017 and 2018 now, because that's what happens you see. April tends to be wet too! And June to September is generally warmer. I'm amazed you can all live in the UK this long and not realise
-
As I see it, I fully expect with the make up of both teams the same riders to score very similar. Bees have a strong top 2 while Leicester have weak heat leaders while Bees bottom 4 is not the best but Leicester have a couple of strong reserves. It comes down to how each teams second strings and 3rd heat leader perform really - last night Coventrys won out but tonight it could go either way. I expect Walasek and Wozniak to score a few more but I equally expect a few more from Garrity. 47-43 to Leicester I think
-
You really seem to be missing my point. The concession Coventry are offering is "students" some people said its meant for poor students. If that the case the concession would be called "poor students" and have a criteria of only earning X amount. They don't, they've called it a student concession so all students should get it. The same way that they have always had an OAP concession but ANY OAP could get it - even one with half a million pound could take advantage. Also, students are significantly poorer than OAPs! After 35-65 workers, OAPs are next richest. Then it's 18-35 workers, then students and then children.

Coventry Bees V Leicester Lions 25/03/2016
SCB replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Last week at Bomber meeting he did a wheelie after every meeting and k commented it was over kill. And mention it pre meeting to friends so I would generally agree with you, I don't like celebrating unless you've won a heat and your team is winning. But we had just won a meeting that a few heats earlier id have bitten your hand off for any kind of win! -

SCB replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was 2 laps of wheelies to celebrate we had just beat our local rivals in what has been a pretty close meeting. I'm willing to let him off celebrating that -
But they have a "student" price and they don't have an "OAP" price. They also have an adult price but it's not tiered by what you earn. If you're going to have concession you have to make sure it's clear what it is. If you have an OAP price you couldn't only allow poor OAPs, you either do it or you don't.

Pirates Vs Roobins, Ela, 25 Mar 2016, 12 Noon
SCB replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's ok though. Poole have built this team within the rules. When will other promoters realise that equalisation a doesn't mean giving Poole a helping hand by allowing Newman in in a low average and not making the asset of main team sponsor a heat leader when he's better than half the heat leaders. Poole already had a good team due to having Kurtz and would have been fine when signing Hans. Allowing Buzz and Newman was just madness! If you're going to have ruled to make everything even, make them even and fair FFS. Please note Poole fans this is a rant st the BSPA and not Poole. -

you forgot to say "after 4 heats". Honestly don't know why anyone thinks they're going to get within 30 at Poole this year. You need luck for that to happen. -

SCB replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Are you kidding? An EL team will always beat a PL team baring some sort of epic disaster. Im not sure what the relevance is to an EL meeting that you scored 47 at a PL track with a hybred EL/PL team vs another weaker hybred EL/PL team! -
Coventry Bees V Leicester Lions 25/03/2016
SCB replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's an odd one this. I think Coventry are quite a bit better than Leicester over a full season but Poole aside, Leicester are the Bees biggest threat at home due to the make up of their team and the Brandon specialists it contains. While the Bees top 2 should have a field day, Leicester should stop our bottom 4 from scoring too many and King will probably struggle against the track specialists at heat leader. I'll go with a 47-43 home win
