TBF, any promoter who doesn't think his team is going to win the league should give up in a sport like speedway where all teams in theory start even.

It's quite simple, if the 3 promotions were wrong the BV promotion will be suing them as they could have cost them a fortune had the rain not intervened. At the very least they'll be asking the BSPA for an investigation. -
Already popped into town on my lunch to buy a copy. Should keep me busy over the next week trying to give it a read.

I'd say the Speedway Star is pretty spot on. Lynns an odd one as we have no idea what plans are when Puk leaves - as there must be one, surely?! Or Leicester could beat them.

You're being sarcastic, right? -
Very regional. Here in South Wales we've had a generally dry and not very cold winter. I can count the number of days I had to scrape ice off the car in the morning on one hand. A not a single one of them was until after Xmas! In fact over Christmas it was so nice out I was riving around with the roof down on the car! Well with hindsight it's a lot more than interesting

The lads should en-masse agree to refuse to ride for Edinburgh. Sod 'em

The rules allow for a #8 replacing an EDR in the 1-5.

I agree, an investigation IS needed here. Someone is in the wrong here. -

Well Done Edinburgh. D'oh! -
So what happens after 8 meeting with NBJ is still on 4.16 but Kai is averaging 4.17+? Surely a higher averaged rider cannot not used to replace a lower one, can it?!

Lets be honest, from about day 2 of the whole National Speedway Stadium thing the PR has been abysmal. Promise that failed time and again, "big announcements" announced only to inform up some pictures would be in the local library but only the tiniest of whimpers when planning was attained and the day they start building. If someone come to me looking for a job and told me they worked for BV speedway/the NSS I'd throw their CV in the bin and phone Comical Ali and see if he fancied a job! -
Apparently Belle Vue have contracted out all their PR work. The delay is because the PR company promised a press release at 9am but it was chilly this morning Barbara at the PR company had to de-ice her car and was late into the office. THIS IS NOT BELLE VUE SPEEDWAYS FAULT!

Clean Cut Sport who film at Brandon and other tracks are involved in streaming Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey games - something most if not all ice hockey teams do I believe. So if it can work for them, a sport with numbers very similar to ours then why won't it work for speedway? -
Here is the perfect place to say it. This proves the point. Some of us have tried to explain it to the happy clappers on here the riders, like the rest of us are human and thus ride for the money. They don't "do it for the fans". If they "did it for the fans" Plymouth wouldn't be closing down. Anyway, sorry for the last post. I thought I was a speedway rider or promoter chatting to a fan there for a second and telling people not to bother attending.
-
Why don't you piss off if you don't like it?
-
What has me cleaning cars and cutting grass got to do with it? I've never claimed I do them things for the fans like riders claim they ride "for the fans" - yet amazingly when it comes to it, they never do!
-
So now what? We have groups of 3,3,4 and 2. Will Peterborough swap groups now?
-
It's ok. Riders "do it for the fans" so I'm sure the Plymouth riders will turn up and ride for nothing, or at least expenses for a few weeks.
-
Didn't see that coming!

Spot on. Until the Kildemand-texting thing after the winter of 10/11 I was a regular attendee of some 60-80 meetings a year. Coventry on a Friday, Newport on a Sunday, any Coventry away meetings, any Newport meetings within an hour of Coventry plus 2 or 3 visits to each of Somerset, Birmingham, Wolves and Peterborough as a neutral. Since the Kildemand texting farce in August 2011 I've probably been to about 25 meetings. 5 years ago I'd have been to about 4 or 5 meetings by now, so far I've done 1. Yes, it's mostly down to Matt Ford. Even the crap at Coventry most of that time (with some good mixed in tbf) is down to Ford as he forced Sandhu out. I don't totally blame him, the rest of the BSPA are held accountable for letting him get away with it all the time!
-
BV HAVE to take the blame. They opened the turnstiles, they let people in, they didn't cancel the meeting. Had they cancelled the meeting they could have put out that press release slating the contractors!
-
Christ. If you thought the BSPA PR was bad you've read nothing until you read the BV PR. Belle Vue Speedway were the promoters, it was their job to make sure others got it right. What a farce.
-
That BSPA/SCB statement is appalling. You would hope as a member of a "professional" body that when things go wrong they support you publicly even if privately they're calling you all sports. Also, all winter we've not heard form Chapman, something goes wrong somewhere and he can't wait to slag them off! Lets not forget this man ruined a track for an EL pairs that was on Sky years ago so he's not perfect. Belle Vue messed up, they're going to get stick but it shouldn't be from the top man at the BSPA FFS! There you go BV, finding out now what it's like to be a club others are envious of. Be it money, ambition are a nice new stadium. Some at the BSPA will try and screw you over!
