Premier League Riders Championship - Sheffield 6th Sep
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Weird that, loved at Coventry and Sheffield. -
Report it yes, punish Somerset yes. But this has meant 100s of fans have had their night spoilt and the two riders been prevented from earning a few £££
-
Somerset are in the wrong but Birmingham reaction has punished two riders and 100s of fans. As I said, pathetic!
-
And fans will be turning up tonight to see two riders who cannot ride for pathetic reasons. If riders are self employed it has sod all to do with Birmingham where they ride. If some people cannot see why this kind of crap is why people dont go and people not going is why Birmingham have ended up in the situation they have found themselves in the last 18 months.

http://www.birminghambrummies.co/news.php?extend.2179 What a joke. Next time Birmingham fans are wondering why the sport is a joke. Why they closed down last year and why they're in the NL they need to look at this statement. Utterly pathetic.

We replaced Stuart Robson with Kyle Howarth. Didn't only use up to his average. Replacement doesn't mean the same. -

If the riders Polish or Swedish season is over they'll have a couple of bikes not being used. It's not like 4 weeks ago when we were looking to replace Robbo that these riders still needed the bikes in mainland Europe. -
I can't see Hemsley going back to the PL. He strikes me as a man who likes to be able to tell everyone he is promoter of a speedway club in the best league. For all his many fault he does like to be "King of the castle" so to speak and I can't see him being happy as PL promoter. That said, with Swindon not yet having a track for 2016, Lakeside rumoured to have lost Fridays and Coventry having no track for 2017 I can't see there being an EL for much longer!

He just meant that Wolves don't have a pit gate to be kept closed. Whatever you think of the rule, its there and says if you go back to the pits you're excluded. -

Swindon has never really been a happy hunting ground for Garrity. -

Jorgensen, Fricke and r/r scored 3,4 and 5 (and one of Frickes was an r/r - Howarth, King and a half decent replacement for Joonas should be capable of doubling the 11 scored tonight. Obviously Swindon will be looking at Morris doubling, even trebling his score though. I stand by what I said a few days ago, literally any one of 4 teams could win the title right now. The issue was the cherry picking! And Fricke showing tonight he's not a heatleader as some of us said a couple of days ago - weirdly though I thought he'd be better choice tonight than last night! -

As long as Sarj has been allowed to do it all meeting! -

The houses are there, the question is, "who would build a stadium next door to houses" - if you're cynical you might suggest nobody! -

Because the new stadium will be much smaller leaving more room for houses. -
Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?
SCB replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
But is that because there are now more riders riding in more meetings than ever before? -

I agree it's a terribly worded rule. But all the rules say is a rider has to be station and correctly positioned for the start marshall. Nothing about what they have to do once he has move. It should state somewhere riders have to remain stationary until the tapes are released. Using your interpretation, the rider have to sit there forever and should never move as there is nothing to say they can move once the tapes have gone up For what is a pretty crucial part of the the race, the rules are terribly vague. That still wouldn't stop riders guessing and jumping (a la Sarjeant) and only the rolling (a la Kildemand, Hans) -

Agreed. The way I'm trying to look it is exactly that Joonas failed to beat an opponent and Jorgensen can't really be much worse than Robbo was. I think it'll be respectable. King rode well but Fricke seems to be something of a specialist at Blunsdon (well he is a mini- Leigh Adams after all) -
Coventry V Swindon - Wednesday 2nd September

It amazes me that a man thinks he can judge fairly that another man has made a judgement on the tapes fairly! What this suggests is all referees must have super human reactions! -

Exactly. It amazes me that a man is able to judge is another man has judged correctly. Clearly with the referee having just great observation/reaction skills they should all be out there on a bike as they'd always be first into the corner! -

Yes, because the tickets said 16! Why does speedway always want to screw over the fans?! -

Torun is different now for a start. And the stat I'd be looking at is 17 deaths in the 1970s, 3 in the 80s, 5 in the 90, 2 in the 00s and so far only 2 in the 10s. Things are a lot safer these days. -

the rule says the start marshal has to line them up etc. NOT the rider has to line up..... So the rule doesn't apply to the rider. He is free to move as much as he likes. -

His average for the first half the year was 6.90, so take away a couple of the high scoring meeting at the start of the season and it's not impossible. I'd certainly expect it to be lower than Kylmakorpis -

The thing is, the rule is that they only have to be stationary until the green light. It's just referees are making it up.
