  1. It was 2 nights ago and IMO, the others in the race should have picked his gate. Why should he gain a better gate position having already had the advantage of only having to beat 1 rider anyway.
  2. So what do you suggest should happen if in a semi-final, a rider has been excluded, 3 rider race. The rider in 3rd on the last bend wipes out the guy in second, breaks the leg of the guy who is awarded 2nd. So a 3 rider final or the leg breaking, excluded rider should be promoted a position? It's unlikely but then so is your 3 rider semi. My biggest issue with it is that Greg had 3rd pick, yet as he wasn't there, Batch got the pick of 2 gates. He should have had what was left, Greg would have picked gate 1 leaving Batch on 3.
  3. Rickardson, like Mauger before him (and I can only base Mauger on video) was the all round package. He'd have won whatever you threw at him, rollling starts, still starts, uprights, laydowns, GPs or World Finals. As for Hancock, he plays the numbers game, 2nd is good enough, over a 50-70 ride series sometimes finishing 2nd or 3rd is ok but over a 5 ride meeting then I don't think Greg has that killer edge. As for Loram - probably wouldn't have won a World Final BUT he did win GPs so proved he could do it.
  4. If 1 has an EF, as one of the last 2 standing he makes the final. This is fair. Imagine as you say 2 rider in a semi fail to make it, you promote two riders in their place, they get the chance of 6 extra points and a GP win they don't deserve. It's ultimately a sport - if that means you have to have one crap semi then so be it. What next, can't exclude riders so we always have 4 rider races?
  5. There you go, once again, should have gone with Travel Plus Tours!
  6. If I'm honest, never thought I'd say this but I'm quite enjoying Batch in the GPs. Bit rough and ready but always in the mix. It seemed to take him a few GPs to"get it".
  7. I think I'm right in saying Jason Crump made the podium for 10 seasons in a row. Mind you, there probably only 4 or 5 riders ever who would not swap their career for Gregs. It just makes you wonder why Greg went off the boil for a few years when he should have been at his peak form about '98 to '03ish. He's also only ever actually managed 2 consecutive season of finishing on the podium.
  8. Is there anything wrong with an EL and a PL? Or a League 1 and a League 2 with League 1 being stronger? We know speedway in this country is getting a bit crap but I dont think the league format is the issue. For me it's the constant guests, the never ending doubling up which only leads to more guests, the changing fixture on a whim, riding missing because they're riding in the "Joe Blogs Invitational Pairs" in New Delhi. I'm sure half of speedway problems would be fixed just by having a strictly adhered to fixture list where meeting were arranged so that riders were not missing - done properly you could probably keep doubling up too
  9. Is Havvy a moron? If he'd rode for Coventry he'd have been showing no commitment to his Swedish club. Not sure what relevance it has to the GP section.
  10. So it looks like Pooles, "use who you like policy" is now going to spread to 2 of the other 3 teams. Making the competition a pointless farce like the European version always used to be.
  11. It's gone beyond that. And if thats what it is it's even more pathetic as this way he gets bites. ignore him and hopefully one day he'll bog off. Thing is, he is right about MJJ though, he is a class act.
  12. And I avoided the bit about evading the police on an unlicensed vehicle. How many chances do some want to see him given? Even if he is as close to God gift as we're ever going to see on a speedway bike.
  13. Zmarzlik, Vaculik, MJJ and then it'll depend if they want a 2nd Aussie with them having a GP in Aus - so Troy who is going to fnishing 9th or 10th will get one. Puk should hold on as it would require 2 of Holder, Lindgren, Batch and Smoli to score 20+ over the 3 rounds and they just don't look like doing it. But if Batch and Holder did do it, Puk could have that wildcard. Mind you, I have no allowed a Swede, probably Vaculik who'll lose out.
  14. I don't get the "hate" of MJJ on here. The guy has scored 31 in 3 GPs, made 2 semis and a final. He's averaging just over 10 a GP which would put him on 93 over 9 rounds and put him in the mix with Tai, Nicki, KK, Puk and Matej. Mock all you like the the guy is a class act and you all look pathetic for slagging him off.
  15. I though the "rule" was the leading rider could do what he likes? So how is Puk excluded?! <end sarcasm>
  16. Thats the strongest Glasgow have looked for weeks. Phillips for Palovara means they might now have someone at number 1 capable of a point in heat 1
  17. Fingers crossed Greg has a terrible meeting allowing Nicki to stay in contention and Woffy to lose as few points as possible. Should even allow Puk to catch up then too.
  18. Would be interesting to know the people behind this before we get too excited. Too many chancers out there. In fact there's a few people who have a history of announcing the opening of new tracks but in reality doing no such thing.
  19. Another meeting ended due to the mythical curfew. If such a curfew exists how about rushing through meetings a bit faster?!
  20. He's not got crap over night. He's never been very good. Thats how it was possible to work out he was a poor signing. You didn't need a crystal ball, just the benefit of having seen him ride a few times. The fans get mocked by managers and promoters for being keyboard warriors and armchair experts but they conveniently forget that most of them mess up time and time again.
  21. I thought Covatti was going to be a top heatleader?! Now if only someone had predicted he'd be this crap. Maybe if they';d listened to the person who said Proctor was a crap signing they wouldn't have bothered with this one either. How do some team managers get their jobs?
  22. So why is Milik riding in the European U21 Championship on Sunday? He's not injured contrary to "the word" on the Workington site. Anyway, it seems Matt Ford/Poole are the ones in the wrong, they're the ones calling it the European Championship. More fool me for trusting anything that comes out of the guys mouth!
  23. So Poole look like having 2 of their own riders in a team of 5. Wheres Benji and Newman? And surely if this meeting meant anything, Milik would be there and not the EUM meeting.
